I think the two AIs would have to be allied with each other as well.
Classicvibe
is it related to the actual events in the game? My program keeps crashing EXACTLY at the same moment within ingame events. This is like 2 hours into a my first game.... Just makes SOASE unplayable for me.

Defeating the fleet probably did it, I remember I won one game once when the AI lost about a third of his entire fleet in his home planet. I was just watching the battle unfold for about 30 minutes or so (two maxed fleets = lag) and he just suddenly quit on me even though the fleets were mostly intact He was in control of an entire star system when this happened. Anyways from the number of games I've played the AI's ability to

Best part is when you put up trade port starbases on suns and make interstellar trade routes.... They work in the way that trade routes will automatically try to create the shortest path possible to the farthest trade port.
FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC!!!!!!!
Trade ports and trade routes seem to be a really good way to strengthen your economy with a fixed number of planets, in some of my games I've gotten as much as over 10 credits per second from one planet's trade ports alone. I think light frigates are supposed to have those upgrades that make them more useful in larger battles, but I tend to be really conservative with my fleet and I didn't really like how they'd die like rather quickly. I'
I'm not really surprised about how strong the AI might be, just that the devs were actually able to change them.
Relevant xkcd comic..... http://xkcd.com/1002/ Is his fleet makeup good? I never figured out how well early game frigates work in large fleet battles....
So, do I have to set myself against 4 hard AI's all in the same team? I've been doing 4 player unfair on FFA but that doesn't trigger the achievements. Also, does it have to be locked or unlocked teams? o,O
Well when you see point trading, cheating, downright hacking, and a bunch of noobs who do nothing but sixpool cheapshots in every multiplayer RTS game you've tried, it's not a very good incentive.
How do you consider a single starbase countering raids a problem but think that repair bays and turrets should be enough?
I'm guessing because the turrets still take some time to die, and you can just keep queuing more in construction? Takes a hell of a long time for the pirate raiders to die though
Ummm... If you only play against AI, then by definition, you're essentially a noob. I don't mean to be an ass, I'm just trying to clarify. Maybe a small percentage of the AI-only players would have average skill level for PvP, and that's a big maybe.
Who the **** cares he's just trying to get some people to play with >.> </
SO stupid.... they might as well just create a new Mine unit that costs as much as an RB starbase and detonates at your will.
Pirates are fine as they are IMO, I remember in one game the AI was periodically putting 10-20k bounties on my head, the pirates would show up with like at least 50-100 ships. If I was unprepared I let them take the planet, otherwise I'd just put a single starbase to munch on them. They should seriously put some accurate timer counter on the pirate raid launches though, right now in singleplayer games it's worse than ebay auctions.
The AI seems radically different from today's update, although I'm not exactly sure if it's because of a personality switch or because my main enemy went from Advent to TEC (as did I) Only thing I noticed was that in midgame he relied a bit too much on entire fleets of lower level frigates that my titan was 2shotting with Disruption Matrix every 3 minutes.
I know about the settings, was just wondering if it was possible to tell ingame Although I'm guessing if an AI attacks 4 of my planets within 30 minutes of game start with enough ships to destroy a level 1 Titan, that's pretty aggressive >.>
CAMPAIGN/SCENARIO EDITOR! throw that in with ship/visual mods and you could recreate so many universes from popular culture @_@ simple trigger/effect system, options for ingame dialogue, maybe even cutscenes/sound files, editable unit/planet stats and names.... or has this idea already been addressed? =/
Ah k thanks for clearing that all up =O
Well, currently humans through our various methods of burning crap release about 7-8 billion tons of CO2 every year. Which sounds bad until you find out that the rest of the world (e.g. volcanoes and fauna and other natural processes) release about 200 billion tons in the same time.
making friends with the AI is pretty easy o.o You have to get a ceasefire up before you can send in envoys. The only thing I don't like is not being able to directly control my own diplomacy rating with another player. I had to give an AI like 20 900 crystal missions just to reach 4.5 on MY side for a ceasefire >.> (unfair mode)
How do you know if it's aggressive? I usually leave my AIs on random o.o

So, I can name a dwarf planet Pluto now and not get the IAU angry.... Pluto will ALWAYS be a planet in my heart! *sobs* seriously. how else will I get nine pizzas from my mom?
