Yeah. The AI spamming Novalith is a problem. Since you're not the first to notice this I hope the devs will address it in a patch or two.

Yeah trade ships need to be changed somehow. I constantly click on them when I have the map zoomed out and aim for a planet or "ship ring" around a planet. One of the most irritating things in Sins if you ask me.

It's a beta. You can only play TEC Loyalist or TEC Rebel. As of now there aren't that much difference between them. Be patient and hopefully we'll get a new race in a patch or two.

2. No freaking way. Have you got any idea how much fun that would kill? It would be like total mayhem and you would have the choice of clicking insanely everywhere to manage your fleet or just go with only heavy cruisers or frigates because they can survive at least a while in the middle of a enemy fleet.

I understand. Though I don't know if cost is the best way to limit them. I 'd suggest a hangar/port building for corvettes. Don't know if I'd like it though. It's a good idea but I'm not much for stealth and micromanagement. Brute force is the way I usually do things in Sins. :P

Someone else just mentioned corvettes should be in a gravity well only. I really liked the idea and wrote my thoughts on it. I think it was Brazilian_joe. There's the problem with realism or fun. Yes it would be more realistic if the fighters and bombers would have to dock to get ammo and fuel but Sins being the kind of game it is it would simply detract from the fun and fast paced action.

Yeah being told a new corvette have been built is way annoying. If corvettes was important to have I would hate it. As it is now when corvettes isn't essential it's still very aggravating. I find myself clearing a queue now and then by trying to right click the build button to put it in constant build. Other RTS have that function and I do it without thinking. Don't know if I want it here though. Could overbuild and drain your resources pretty quick. <p

Since you're in the navy why didn't you think about the nasty habit corvettes have had of being cheap and still capable of delivering wast amounts of damage to enemy fleets? I'm thinking torpedo and mine laying corvettes. Would be fun if Sins implemented something like that.

I don't have time to follow the press releases and just found this forum. Been to busy playing before. ;) Well the splinter factions make sense because they're based on human history. If a war go on for too long sides tend to dissent along those lines (Roughly.). This doesn't cheapen the devs creativity. In fact it makes it a lot more plausible.

1. Have the map generate one pirate base for each faction on the map. The attack auction would cycle between the pirate factions and for example a TEC pirate would demand more credits/bounty to attack a TEC player. 2. Give the pirates a capital ship and no base. Have them roam around randomly and if the pirate fleet defeat a player planet their fleet stop for a while and grows larger before moving on.
hmm interesting...culture as a fleet defense, I like it! The thing is the advent rebel titan has abilities similar to your suggestion.
Ah. Didn't know about the abilities of the other factions. I've only played the beta and haven't looked for information on the other beta races yet. Isn't the advent loyalists the aggressive faction? If so wouldn't it be more logical for them

8 Replies 4,183 Views

What about a "Berserk" ability? If you research a special technology enemies entering the advent culture run a risk of going berserk. Every ship have a small chance of going out of the players control and start attacking everyone for a time. Also the advent titan would have this as a special ability. Capital ships and titans should be more resistant to this but still vulnerable. The advent hive mind overload their enemies minds. :P

I rarely use starbases because I spend my resources on ships instead. The normal AI have attacked my planets defended with a couple canons and hangars though.
