I've got to be honestly fair, if I remember the talk correctly, the Cetus was the ship that left Kobol. With that size of a ship the Columbia/Jupiter class battlestars were more than likely not the first Battlestars that the Colonials made, but most likely the first of the Cylon war. About spawning a capital ship, the mod Sins of the 13th Tribe had an ship the could spawn the Mecury class that only took up crew slots.

(If Tec) I just start out with a basic fleet, an Akkan escorted by two Kols and a few frigates. After I have the right amount of planets to do enough military research, I build some defences and start shipbuilding.
