Hey, I have fan there. It's not me though, I do not use steam for networking.

Tried it, interesting but it has many rough spots (it's an alpha though). The inability to continue playing after victory is the most annoying one. No starbases and fortifications, no fighters (overall space combat is very sketchy), and a really huge empire micromanagement. Although I'll cheack it again, I'm not overly enthusiastic.

I don't know, possibly it has to do with your system configuration? I generally find pirates easy to deal with, and I play at the highest difficulty settings with several (8-9) enemy AIs.
Sure, sure. The truth is that we are all, more or less, happy with the beta, but we could be happier, to different degrees. Invitations to positive conformity are a bit silly, aren't they?
@137 did you come to these forums to just flame people for no real reason? Also the dollar sign comes before the number, like this: $10. As soon as I saw that in your post, I lost all respect for what you had to say. That goes for anyone who puts the dollar sign after the number.
Well, that's an interesting question. Perhaps, you might say. Or perhaps I tend to be critical to strange assertions. Generally, people tend to make a
Your comment didn't rub me the wrong way, but let us for a moment suppose that it did. Looks promising.
It looks like the latest patch includes a lot of balancing updates, crash fixes, AI improvements, and miscellaneous tweaks. Awesome. I can't wait to see it. Thanks Ironclad. I want to also salute the ones reporting problems and helpful changes. The opportunity to beta test is an honor so we should continue to have fun with it, but not forget our mission. I've not been able to find very many issues, but I'll keep digging because I want this t

At this rate they're not going to be properly tested by release. You know how they're testing and how it's the most effective means. Stop bitching about. Besides, the game is still only .90. Plenty of time before full release.
In
It's been years since I played homeworld 2. A nice game. Many preferred Homeworld (most of those who started playing multiplayer there did), but I have always found the original too swarm-heavy. Cataclysm had other issues (bugs and balance), and HW2 was a compromise. Yet, I think Sins can reasonably be expected to do well too so no reason to dwell on memories.
You in truth mean Von Neumann's. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Von_Neumann_universal_constructor
I have experienced a noticeable improvement since I have started playing in windowed mode: just relaying someone else's advice.
Not bad ideas. The one pertaining shield should not be too overpowered, given advent focus on them.
SciFi is not science: it is literature. As such, it should be judged for its literary value. The story you narrated (somehow) above is a ripoff of gnostic myths, badly worded and badly hidden. The writer, as such, is a plagiarist, for certain, and probably a lazy person. This means, the literary value is kinda low. The Invincible is not good, as such, for the "science" it conveys, but for the quality of the vehicle. Our current understanding, doesn't include Dyson Spheres,

Simple: Vasari Rebels.
My first and only thought was: what kind of horrible stuff do you read man? I know it isn't overly constructive, and yet it is very true to what I perceived.
Expectations are part of life, I would say. But I understand the point of view you express.
Wondering where my fellow Demons of old will be now. I saw (by looking at forums) they came to SoASE but they stopped being active overall since 2011. Maybe those who have some hw2/cata experience may tell. With an active demonclan, I guess mecha wouldn't be so sure of his skills quite soon. https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/303508 Whoever knows anything, please pm.

I have always wondered about the purpose of smurfing. Infact, in a game with such "high level pros" and also so few pros (as they say) smurfing should be forbidden to good players: it's just a way to cover one's true identity to get an advantage. Mostly, I see it used as a tool to get revenge and/or to devise counters to strategies of players who beat someone who didn't like being beaten. Of course, as things go, it will be always a widespread habit in all games which allo
In the shark's perspective: select noob neighbour, rush him, use resources gained to rush neighbouring average player, etc. But is it worth it to play for eight hours to win a game?
I think seriously, there should be a limit to number per type of all units. Additionally, the total number of cruisers should never surpass the total number of frigates, for added realism. And finally, superweapons should have a random chance to misfire and explode, destroying the host gravwell and halving the resident planet's population. I mean, why stop to one (stupid?) idea.

I agree that some shows could be better, but I think you may have ridiculous standards. You may consider it "the worst show ever", but I am not quite surprised, Infact, this is the way
