I can spam starbases now, but I don't doubt that they have been able to for some time, yet not only do they very rarely use starbases when attacking, they have also failed to fill any of the available space in terms of plasma storms, asteroid belts and stars, when it is very much to their advantage to do so, especially on multistars.&n

Serious initial bugs made it next to impossible for Sins multiplayer to get off the ground, which resulted in very low initial player counts. But now that the game is old, the low player counts online are reinforced by the very high learning curve... those playing online have mainly been playing for years. It just isn't fun for a newbie to play and lose 30 games in a row before you start to understand what the heck's going on in a multiplayer game. And those with attit

I've played a decent amount of multiplayer and am pretty sure that building fighters to counter LRM is too time-consuming and too easy to counter with flak... it might take 3 minutes to get carriers researched and to get one built, and then you have to build up a decent number of squads... and even then, your fighters can be easily rendered useless with a few flak. On the (carrier) capital ship they'd work decently (initially) because of the instant builds and 0 AM requirement

If/when you're thinking about trying out ICO, feel free to talk to me, it's really difficult making it up the high learning curve in a reasonable length of time without help.

I'd argue skill requires probably 500+ games.
Howthe, are you interested in allowing the online community to grow? (Or, to not die due to inactivity?) The exclusivity of ICO due to the players is part of the problem... but that problem is caused by low player counts (and of course, the attitudes of some players)... and Sins has always had surprisingly low player counts, from what I'm aware. Even before "smurf" terminology there were very low numbers of people online. I'm pretty sure this problem wouldn't exist if playing online had been made a little more accessible to newbies, if it was actually advertised (and if, for

Kanrak is the earliest LRM to hit the map needing only 1 Mil Lab. I usually skip LF and go straight for a Kanrak + Scout early fleet to compliment my opening Cap Ship. This combo of scouts to soak up damage and kanrak for heavy hitting easily clears even fortified desert and terran worlds.
<p

Or if you don't care for saving the originals you could just overwrite the "Vasari #" files in your main Sound directory. I use custom sounds. I first copied the original Sound directory to have a backup copy, and then just manually overwrote (some of) the stuff in the Sound directory with my customs.

If you're ready to build frigates, build scouts. They're the best for killing siege frigate militia, which are the only ships you REALLY need to kill. If you're planning on fighting pirates, I highly suggest building turrets (and repair structures) instead of stationing frigates there: turrets do a whole lot more damage and have tons of hull and armor, although they don't have shield mitigation. Unless I have a huge mass of frigates defending (impractical in the early-

Well, this was geared primarily towards early-game. Later in the game this would just turn into a general-optimal-battle-strategy discussion, which could take years. Subverters are out. Subjugators are too (and even if they were used they'd probably be pretty horrible). Fighters are ridiculously easily countered with a few flak that early in the game. Using Repulse plus short-ranged units doesn't sound too nice either. Starbases are easily evaded by humans. I'm not seeing
