The obvious choice for the Guardian/repulsion counter would be to micro a Vasari Kortul with weapon jamming ability toward the offending ships, jam weapons when in range and then stage a timed attack with other, faster ships. As long as no flak ships, or other more powerful cap ships were in the area, this would be a good tactic to use against Advent cruisers with spacial abilities. Now, what to use against a Vasari egg at say, level 5....Hmm..

Things like Marza abilities and mass produced vettes would appeal to anyone who plays tec. The only way to counter would be to put a lot of distance between the players-as HLT said- and to develope your science and economy. I have always gone with science-then-civic research and switching to ports so you can afford the many fighter/bomber craft it will take to disable all those vettes and other tec ships that can do much damage early game. The only way to
Thank you all. Very informative!
I am new to the Sins game and have an old computer, onto which I have the sins original downloaded. I can see that the computing power of my old dell will not be enough to crunch the numbers required for the Rebellion game. It just doesn't have the speed or the graphics interface (presently I have a dell laptop with an integrated radeon - like an x1200), and the game would not work on it at all. I was wondering if anyone could share some insight
I got it! Its the new apple 6 phone that automatically warns the advent when its time to upgrade the capital fleet. And has the newest feature that won't let anyone text after making more than three grammatical errors! But seriously, it would be an other worldly creation of Vasari origion; I think, that had some sort of energy that can cloak ships and wreak mayhem onboard other ones.
Tottally dug your avatar...I'm going on vacation next week... opps, this is a post from 2010, oh well Hope to see multiplayer games after Jan 1st 2012
Mine is from an original painting by my artistically endowed brother!
True that==They should make a special game for newbies where they could all be playing against players of the same caliber....no admittance to anyone with a karma of +60.
[quote who="Darvin3" reply="15" id="3000830"] Oh well its easy, i jumped them in, turned them immediately around for a retreat Your opponent was foolish for committing himself against that. With your capital ships lined up and ready to make an escape and no units of his own in position to pursue, he's wasting his forces. If you're frigate-based and he's SC-based then you have to come to him, which means that if he plays his hand r
I would like for a titan to be able to bombard planets from afar--but not too far...
My own take on this would be for the titan classes to have abilities that could expound upon those of friendly's cap ship abilities. For example, a titan of Athena class could have an ability that would-what's the word?- "tractor beam" a fleet of strike craft into a structure that has been magnetized by a friendly's Dunov. So, a titan on the Advent side having a "shield restore" ability that would restore shields to all of the ships within ability
Okay, but I think any suggestions about what the devs should put into Rebellion should also be posted in the "Suggestions for Rebellion" topic post.
I HAVE TWO VERY INTERESTING SUGGESTIONS Uno : Diplomacy ratings for Titans {Specifically, if your race builds a Titan while in good Diplomatic standing with another: then the costs and resources used to maintain that ship will be burdened by the friendly's (s) in return for protection from enemies} {Addendum : limits on the
I meant that if your empire builds a Titan and it was built by your empire while it had diplomatic ties with another empire, then there should be limits to the costs of upgrades to that Titan while it was in good standing with the diplomatic ties. Costs of building and maintaining crews should be lessened while there was a diplomacy w/ another empire still in effect, and by 2GRAM I was refering to the 2 gigabytes of ram that most computers have in their chips. I find it hard to be
I would probably go with the Akkan-Dunov-Sova combo with a small fleet and just use the level two cap abilities to get rid of an opposing force's asteroids. But not send anything to his homeworld until I cleared off someofthe defenseplatforms with either a decoy fleet forthe hangardefense or some scouts with timed explosives for the stationary platforms. Then, I'd use the Sova's ability to steal income from the homeword. No other race comes close to this ability,
Infiltratos promising them a better life under our rule, unhappy citizens are likely to join our side. Must have allegiance at 50 percent. Its precisely statements like this one which actually prove to me that humans aremore cofusedthespecies when it comes to avidly expressing their opinions on the web. Besides that, everyone knows that instant hypervoicemail through neural connections will render computer skills obsolete in 200 years... P.S. I still believe that "
My word editor uses the standard Turing tech for eliminationof wasted reading time by producing words that are easily scanned over in groupsthatarein uninterrupted strings. This meathod of communicating (excepting misspelling and other human errors) circumvents the need for long thought processes and can greatly reduce the wear on the reader. I find find that it is optimum protocol for these forums. It is merely the opposite for me. I tend to communica
Ithink thatby"Land-Based-Combat", thecreator of this postmeant a realisticwayto take over planets andcapture their defense structures + rescources without havingto bother repopulating andupgrading and buying more structures. I...ontheother hand, took this to mean that "Troop Carriers" would be needed to perform such demanding tasks. Carriers that are probably going to be stationed inside of Titans and usable at the whim ofanystarlord capable of having one at the ready alongside
i JUST FINISHED A THREE HOUR GAME AND THE ONLY REASON i WON WAS BECAUSE THERE WERE ENOUGH WORM HOLES. The map was designer and too large with too many inconsistancies. Learned that map building requires extraordinary care to the phaze lane length otherwise it takes forever to get to any points on the map. But still think map design is better than forge tool.
Also, if you send in a Dunov before taking over an enemy planet, you can use "embargo to steal some credits before taking over the planet. Sorry, I mean Akkan. ; whoops..Sova Carrier
Perhaps there should be a defensive star-building enabler after enough tech tree research is accomplished. Like the ones in Rebellion-Land Based Combat? page three? [e digicons][/e] Maybe even call it a defense platform for a group of planets. Not for remotely destroying planets, but for taking out big ships or even severely damaging invading armadas to a nearby planet- friendly planet of course...
I would wish for upgradeable star building ingame like the one on page three of the Landbased Combat post.
True however in a game mod where the type star could be changed by encoding it as a say.. starbase then renaming it to a say.. military strategic point with cloaked phase lanes and interchangeability upgrades. It might be a viable alternative to troop carriers...just...a little harder to put into the game. But easily logistical with a galaxy forge that had say...star building capabilities.
Is all that technical stuff from Monk's post in Technical actully nescessary for joining a match? Or am I to confer that the router setting and DMZ enabling was just for people who wish to host on their own servers. The technical stuff is always a little too technical at first, but I thought that hosts do actually host the matches on ICO's server and the main problems occurred only with the edition of the game that is currently being hosted. Thanks for getting me cau
Should I manually reset my router port to 6112 before attempting to logon in the game?
