Reminds me a lot of the Rankulas. A LOT. Edit: Good catch, axxo2!

That was so quick I didn't even get a chance to read Chapter 5 before Chapter 6 came out! But now I have read both and I must say that the story is so much better than anything I could have made in a similar amount of time - I salute, you, givemesomepienow. I can't believe that you have written almost 100 pages of a "book" that will never earn you a penny! I feel like it is a gift to our relatively small community of loyal Sins players and I think that you deserve another karma.
Wow! I haven't gotten a chance to read it yet but thanks for coming back! I had assumed that you (like many others) had started a large project but just decided that it didn't hold your interest or something came up and you decided it just wasn't worth it. But... here you are with Chapter 5! Thank you!
Ummm... No. But I play seriously against the AI. And how are phase nodes not incredibly useful, even in faster-paced competitive games?
Yes, yes, yes! The phase node ability of this ship is priceless to me - I just set it on autocast and as soon as my fleet warps into a hostile gravity well it sets up a phase node and if I am playing as Vasari Rebels I can jump a starbase into there (all of the starbases I build I make sure to upgrade with the phase node ability). Or if I am playing as Vasari Loyalists, it can be a great way for my losing fleet to retreat to a distant planet in the same solar system or for reinforcements to j
This is a beta for an update, after all, not for the game itself. Rebellion came out last year in June. This is the beta for the 1.79 update.
Probably should have, but we'd already released it on Steam. Plus, Amazon, Google Play and iTunes jacked up the price so high that I figured nobody would be interested.
It IS strange that the lowest quality of the music costs almost double or double the cost of the highest quality. Part of the reason why I wrote this post was because it was such a ripoff to buy from those sites.
By sheer chance, when I was searching on Amazon for an imported boxed copy of Sins: Rebellion, I came across the soundtrack on MP3 for sale. When I checked on other major music sales platforms, I discovered that the Sins: Rebellion soundtrack is for sale on at least the following music stores (in MP3): iTunes, Google Play, CDBaby, and Amazon. And I just thought to tell everybody here on the forums so anyone else looking might know where to find it. This is the same
Why can only PVP players join in the fun? I'm signing. /signed
I have been in Canada for a week without Internet access, but now that I'm back and have read Chapter 4, I am delighted to say that your story just keeps getting better and better. Tar'uul's speech is particularly notable for its awesomeness. I also thought you did a rather nice job with the Advent and Vasari's relationship. I can't wait for the ultimate showdown that is coming at the Gateway. Well, I suppose I will have to wait. Just, thank you for
Hmmmm... You are correct. I wonder what they did with 2,600 or more collector's edition boxes - or were the boxes never manufactured? More importantly, though, I had a question - when the collector's editions were made there was no paper manual available for Rebellion, yet now in the British, Kalypso versions there is. Would there be any way to obtain such a manual in the US, from Stardock preferably, without buying the game again? Because
I do recall Yarlen saying that with the tight memory constraints of Sins, not many more meshes could be put in before it goes over the "safe memory usage" limit. So adding in more ships is probably unlikely, but not impossible. As for re-texturing the current ships to better differentiate the subfactions, that might be possible but I really have no idea if new textures take up less memory than new meshes. To me personally, I think that adding more ships to Sins at this point mig
I am proud to announce that this thread has stayed alive for 1 full year as of today. I am not so proud that the devs have yet to acknowledge it. Well, carry on, old chaps. Even though I am not a modder, I still stand with you for your map-chance-thingy. Happy anniversary!
Very blunt, ezeltje299, but this is how I feel when so many people don't even bother to read any patch notes or change logs before posting that something is wrong with their game or that there is a bug. Now, I haven't been able to play the game after the 1.5 patch enough to notice if the description has been changed, but in the change log is specifically said Improved Starbase Mobilization description. Which ba
Well, first there will probably be a small patch to fix bugs of the DLC. Then, sometime there will be the patch with the updated lighting and possibly some balance adjustments. And from then on... hopefully at least one more DLC, and if they can fit two more, go for two. Three, four, I will keep buying as long as they keep coming. Just please focus on buffing culture and diplomacy in one of them. But I am also excited about what is to come for Sins in the near future. A
And I just read Chapter 2. I have had a long week, and so I was glad I got to relax tonight and read your story. I must say, it is progressing nicely. Actually, more than nicely. I love reading your Sins book, and once I start reading a chapter I can't stop. I wonder if Yarlen or any of the other Sins devs have been reading it. This latest chapter reminded me of what my perfect Star Wars Battlefront 2 space battle would have been. They never turned out as awesome as
Well, it is almost 10:00 at night here, and I have school tomorrow, but... I must read it. Again. Thank you for posting it, givemesomepienow.
No problemo. I am usually a bit surprised when the AI surrenders, too - I am usually right in the middle of a battle and then suddenly "oh, I won. But I think I'll mop you up anyways." No mercy for cowards.
The AI just saw that it was about to be slaughtered and surrendered instead of dragging the game on. But you can still kill them if you just push the "Keep playing" button.
I have a guy who I'm teaching the game to and we're playing on hard.
What? Why? HARD is for a difficult challenge - if you want to teach someone the ropes of the game, easy AI is what you are looking for. I wouldn't complain that they are too hard if you are playing on hard in the first place. If you don't want a challenge, go for easy. I for one am happy that the AI is tough
Okay, well, if no one else is going to say it, I think that this is great. Not only for the Sins community, but this is just a cool story that really, truly ties into the story of Sins of a Solar Empire. Every detail is so grounded in the fiction of the universe of Sins - I am very and truly impressed. I really want to know what happens next. You could use a bit of an editor (not to take things out, but to fix things up and make it more readable in certain areas), and i
Well, then I say keep at it until you are proud of it, no matter how long that takes. If you feel burned out, take a break instead of pushing on and losing creative interest and passion. I've had it happen to me - but if I come back and re-evaluate what I have done, make that better, then I can proceed onward with energy once more. I probably don't have to tell you that, though - I think you probably have more experience with this than me. But willpower is the main thing. And
Oh well. I'll just stare at all the pretty flying lasers and lightning balls and what-not then. But thank you for the quick reply, IskatuMesk. I look forward to the night where I can download the entire video, hook my laptop up to the TV, and watch it on the big screen. And tell my family "Remember that game Sins of a Solar Empire? This guy made a movie in it. Oh, and he changed everything to his own universe." And then my little brother would start complaining and
myfist0, do you think that these optimizations have any sort of negative effect on the quality of the textures? If not, then do you think that Starclad might incorporate these into the next patch so as to free up some memory space to make it possible to make a second DLC?
And I would like to know if it has made a big difference that the AI now has to spend half of its income on ships. That seems like it could have a large impact.
