I understand the point. SttC still OPed. But now at least it doesn't come until the endgame, after players have a chance to gang kill the VL player first. I believe the Devs know this already too. I would not mind it if some races were better then other in the endgame, if another was better early game. Regardless, it does seem there are now with the SttC moved to tier 8 more options on limiting the VL -- he can't get OPed until the end. Same story with the VR I would think.</p

TEC does have (I forget what its called) a tier 8 civ research along the trade ship upgrades, that gives the player a good eco without actually having anything. Like 15% of whatever someone else's trade ports are making and 8% of whenever they buy something. However I doubt that SttC would count. Sounds like the best idea would be to take out the Vasari's partner, and leave VL for last at that point. Gang up on Sel with at least 4 players. Force VL to come to the rescue or let

Late game though, couldn't you gain a lot of resources from trade ports on SBs? Guess that makes things difficult if he hops around blowing them up. Wouldn't someone VR or VL be able to catch and destroy a VL fleet? Particularly if his allies could use his phase lanes. 5v5 is a large map, where the V mobility helps tremendously in the end game. It should be far less of a problem in say, a 3v3. I know the V have so many ways of creating phase lanes, it can be fr
Quoting CoronalFire, reply 6How is guidance AoE cooldown?! I just looked at it it does one ship.... Is that a Rebellion thing? Check again. I think its always been AoE. At least it was in Diplomacy too.
Just did a more extensive check. I was wrong, it wasn't a Rebellion thing, it was a Diplomacy thing. Vanilla sins has it target a single ship, starting at 20%. Diplo

Mecha-Lenin is grumpy because Mecha-Stalin took his country.... That and some Saint named Petersburg became more popular then him. They rejected Lenin for Petersburg. Grrr that hurt. The only thing that kept him going was that Stalin also became unpopular, eventually his name became even less popular then a certain body of flowing water. However, few people know this because Stalin put up a fight and b***hed about it.

Man that stinks. I would like capitals to be a risk venture, i.e. building a capital-heavy fleet would be at a disadvantage to an enemy who did not rely so heavily on caps, but could pay off in the end once they level. They way it is right now, your essentially stuck with choosing 1-2 caps (diplo) for most of the important era of the game. Changing so that they didn't share exp (possibly upping the amt needed for leveling) seemed a good way to try.

Unfair AI with Novas has never been a problem for me. Cruel and Vicious get them sooo soon though. But they also get the other races superweapons as fast, the DE easy to counter and the Kostura the AI doesn't know how to use effectively, or else I would fear the AI getting that more then the Nova.

For all the gripe the Novalith gets, it's actually quite counterable if you have the eco for it. The DE even more so. The AI doesn't use it well (phew....viscous AI with this just a couple minutes [exaggerated] into the game...if he did use it well it would be a nightmare lol), but against a human opponent it is far, far harder to counter then the other two.

Reverie is fine, though I prefer the other races phase out/ion bolt. Guidance is worthless to my mind, using AM so one other ship can use AM faster... Clairvoyance is seems ok, particularly late game against AI when scouts can no longer make it through. However MP its near worthless as building another scout is the far better option, since Clairvoyance drains the AM store and adds no combat effect. As the Advent's bombing capital, it doesn't even get the bombin

Reduce cooldowns by up to 40% for all targets within 8000 of the Revelation.
lol you can see how often I play Advent. Once more how often I get the Revelation lol. Now imma have to get it just for that. Edit: just looked

I always wondered why Guidance wasn't a AoE ability. Make it work for your entire fleet and it will allow a spam fest like the Dunov's Flux, except they'll run out of AM soon. Still better to give all your firepower at the first though, so would still be worth it. I do enjoy using the Marauder, as the phase out works against the AI focus firing, gravity distortion is great for a hit-and-run fleet. The subversion is worthless though.

Agreed with Volt. If you get attacked at your central Worlds with his main fleet, hit his worlds harder/faster. A small counter/harassment fleet can help slow him down, along with red buttons at the jump-in points if he's careless.

Yep. Personally I really don't feel like they're "I got this first so you lose weapon." They don't cause enough havoc early enough for that, it gives you time to counter with your own superweapon or take out the opposing one (with the exception of the Kostura in MP, although havoc doesn't equal win). Besides I find I can take them out (as TEC or Vasari) before they get their second shot off.

There's a couple other posts on how to deal with the Novalith, or mod it off. Edit, links: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/419170 https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/428088 I love superweapons myself. They're easy to deal with, or if they're not, they make the game end faster.

I have a somewhat similar question. Is there a way to change the caps where they do not share exp (i.e. six caps in a grav well would lvl just as fast as 1)?

18 Replies 22,121 Views

I've fought several 1v1 matches against a Cruel TEC (I do not have rebellion-- use Diplo 1.34). As TEC, the only thing it takes is 10-20 scouts running around with the timed charges ability. 10 scouts cost 2,000 credits, versus 8,000 (plus additional metal and crystal) for one novalith -- not ideal considering the cost the novalith inflicts on you, but hardly impossible to deal with. Additionally if you can survive long enough you can build your own novas. As Vasari, its a

My Changes v0 Wraith Wraith Hives have been revamped. Now they will die if they do not cull periodically. Stats changed, cull revamped. Now targets enemy or friendly planets while killing population only. Many new abilities for the Wraith hive ships, along with role types and updated names and descriptions. Hives are now much more of a battlefield threat, but still inferior to the most powerful Asuran and Tauri Techs. <span style
