Combat fleet is random, sometimes you can get lots more stuff from it. And yes, its partly that it can be summoned instantly, and partly that you can do it anywhere you have a phase stabilizer

Its most likely shield mitigation. Its important to remember that all damage numbers given in the game are BEFORE shield mitigation/ armor reduction. One really effective thing you can do with snipe is use it as an opener and combine it with overcharge, before getting into close range. This gives you one free shot where there is far less shield mitigation, which allows you to inflict huge damage.
I have an idea on how to propagate the idea of how underpowered/ overpowered certain things are. We come up with a scale, like a 1 to 10, except instead of using numbers, we'll use things from the game. I.E. "Yarlen, on a scale of Deliverance Engine to Starbase Mobilization, how powerful do you see X (x being an ability, ship, even a whole race, etc) being after (insert patch number here)?" I was thinking 9 could probably be Chastic Burst/ Eradica, 8 could be Kultorask, etc etc.</

That is.... quite ridiculous. Yeah I've noticed recently that Repair Cloud is freaking awesome, it cools down so fast it almost might as well not have a cooldown. I agree this could probably use a nerf... just
A good strategy is to build a few Hangar Defense platforms and use bombers, since they do more damage and the Pirates' heavy hitters are basically Kodiaks with no shields but more health/ armor (pirate corsairs). Ring the world with defense platforms, this is especailly effective if you are Advent and have the synergy ability, since with this your platforms eat the pirates for breakfast. TEC have the Argonev starbase, which has some heavy hitting close range weaponry, and pirates ar

Hmmm...... I realize this thread has gone totally off course. Yay 1.04! :p
He's got a good point, though.... its strange the devs (and by the devs I mean Yarlen, of course) have not responded to this yet.
In all seriousness though I agree, the Vasari have lots of little things like this.
Hey! I was about to make a thread about this! No fair!
[quote who="bilun" reply="31" id="3217582"] I've definitely been thinking the same thing- TEC loyal fleets may actually be able to survive titan AoE now. That said I do feel compelled to mention that group shield doesn't make titan AoE "negligible". It's a very significant reduction, but remember that due to how sins math works "-86% damage taken" actually reduces the incoming damage by about 4
Does anyone else think that the change to Disruption Matrix was really really significant? I honestly think the Ankylon is the best Titan at high levels now. Esp. if you can get both Disruption Matrix and Group Shield to max, you can basically just ignore even Titan AoE. Because of the fact that it lasts 15 seconds at max rank, you can shut down an enemy Titan's AoE for the 15 seconds it takes group shield to finish recharging after expiring, and with an 86% damage reduc on top of

However, out of remorse and a subconscious urge to come clean, they have inserted hints both into the game and its code. I bet you there are false typos in the code which consist of the letters S, D, and T in there som
Its obviously a super duper titan. A titan with all the shield and hull/armor strength of all the fully leveled titans put together, which has only phase missiles with a 100% chance to bypass shields for its anti frigate/cap ship weaponry, in addition to this, it also has flak guns with a small AoE, and with as much damage per shot as the Ragnarov's Rail Gun. Its first ability is NanoSubjugationScattering SnipeBurst, which is a combination of Nano Leech, the Coronata&#
