I'm not clear on the mechanics. Is hiring a mercenary a lifetime contract? Contracts should be able to expire, and if unrenewed, the mercenary should become available for hire once again. Do new mercenaries appear over time, or are the mercenaries at the start of the game the only mercenaries that will ever appear? Do the mercenaries have AI, or are you really just buying new ships?

Wow. Only a company like Stardock supports a 10 year old game! A big thank you to Stardock as well as the modders that made this happen.
Adding my voice in agreement. The spirit of GalCiv has always seemed to be making educated decisions based on all of the information available to you.
I agree. Also, your screenshots illustrate your point nicely.
Arch Zero, is StarLife your project? In that case: What games would you say StarLife is most like? What is different between StarLife and those games? What is StarLife not? (eg, GalCiv is not MoO) Finally, why "StarLife"?
I'm getting the idea that GG will slowly die off having accomplished nothing, and the gaming world will happily keep turning.
Please tell me it's not a 4x game for the phone... bonusXP has only made phone games... there is a huge difference between the two. Although the phone market is huge and you'd be foolish not to at least try to gain some of that market. But i'd rather see new PC games. i don't see the point in playing games on the phone when i have some many other electronics that are far better at gaming.
In Stardock
(I hope enough people here will understand this.) Meanwhile at Stardock:

Also there are already plans for user content of major races to be easily uploaded/downloaded for ease of spread. Stardock may only give us 16, but the world will give us thousands.
One of our objectives is for people to have the option to play new "Immense" sized maps where there might be hundreds of empires playing. We have a lot of different ideas on how to make this work (few people are going to want to have to select 130 opponents to play against). We might use Steamworks Workshop to allow players to share their custom made players and once approved have automatically added as additional AI players into games where a player wa

Stardock is one of the few companies that understands the difference between iteration and innovation. Looking forward to this!

Just wait... soon enough you'll have the full release version, with all expansion packs and DLC coming your way.
Yes Stardock's forums are mirrored across their sites; you can view GalCiv on a light color scheme here: https://forums.stardock.com/forum/1058 I much, much prefer white on black; I find it way easier on the eyes when looking at a screen for hours a day. I'm running 1920*1080.
You can disable superweapons, but only by creating a mini-mod (I've searched the forums, and I don't think one exists yet). You can mod the number of allowed superweapons to be capped to any value (such as 0). Also, I don't if/how modifying your game files will affect your ability to play multiplayer. Instructions for creating such a mod are here ; see post #2. Don't forget to give GoaFan

Will there be performance upgrades in the next release? (Is anyone else getting low FPS? I'm on a 8GB quad-core i7 with 2GB graphics.)
Look how easy it would be for a consumer to confuse Ironclad's Sins of a Solar Empire with Rebellion Development's Sniper Elite : (They're so similar you can hardly tell. Sniper E

I was in the middle of a battle (my full fleet vs titan) when I got a "Military Defeat" dialog. I have all techs researched, an endgame-size fleet (54 empty slots), twice as many planets as the next player, and an untouched homeworld. Steam Summer Sale I'll be picking up the complete Half-Life 2... finally.
I'm having such a hard time figuring out whether OP is trolling or making a parody.
