Eh.. far moreso Stardock than IC. IC has been too busy making their upcoming failed endeavor (it will in a MOBA market flooded with LOL and DOTA) Sins of a Dark Age. Rebellion has been primarily a Stardock Entertainment game then, and will be in the future. I wish they'd just buy up the IP or studio.
Based on the history of MMOs, I fear that this may very well be the case. WoW was the domi

No, the beta is over, they released the official 1.8 patch and the new Stellar Phenomenon DLC today. Everyone is on 1.8 now. https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/449854/page/1 https://forums.sinsofasolarempir
Quick question, they just released new content - Stellar Phenomena, will this mean that the new content will break compatibility if I get it? Also, were black holes meant to destroy trade ships? They seem to be killing them right now.
Ah I see. Will give it a shot. Thanks for the help.
Regarding the response to my comment contained in this long post, I wholeheartedly agree that running out of hydrogen isn't going to be an issue, but you cannot take my statement in isolation. It was made in the context of a discussion of mining conventional "ores" and not hydrogen. We were also talking about individual asteroids or planets being depleted of those ores. I also took the positio
Ah I see. I may have to use the map editor then. If it's just the starting areas though, I may make do. I presume the pirate base too would be an asteroid - acceptable. A handful of asteroids I don't mind.
Okay going to try out the galaxyscenariodef idea. Does that mean that I get rid of all of the orbitBodyType "Asteroid" orbitBodyType "DeadAsteroid" in each planetType? Thanks in advance btw.
Is there any way to make all of the planets normal sized planets (ex: no asteroids, or dwarf planets), save for the pirate base?
The rock, paper, scissors style of combat worked as well as it did for two reasons. One it was very easy (and simple) to pick up and learn for the new player. Two it lends well to playing games on enormous maps that could (and did) take several multi hour sessions to play through. ... -Aer
Did it really work well though? Simple and easy to pick up for sure.
UnleashedElf: I like your analysis and solution -- the Advent are, indeed, shafted by phase missiles, and the TEC-Advent matchup is pretty well balanced (from what I've seen), indicating the phase missiles (plus the Advent reliance on shields) are the culprit when it comes to the imbalance in the Advent-Vasari matchup. I have a question, though: is it phase missiles or Vasari bombers that are the source of the tro

Shield Regeneration is very helpful against TEC but worthless against Vasari. Malice has a targert cap of 24.... minor annoyance. Rapture: Concentration aura is a must have for bomber fleets. Now... since fighters are worthless.... Vertigo does help, too.
Uhh, what? Progenitor is like the be

It would draw development resources away from other parts of the game 3. It would change the focus from a clash of empires to a clash of fleets
1. Yes, it would. I don't see the problem in that. It would at the same time, expand the sales potential of the game.
When running a mod and the game crashes, how do you tell what file caused the crash? I have gotten 2 types of issues: 1. At the loading screen, the game sometimes crashes on me 2. Mini-dumps in game How do you tell when it's your mod and within your mod, what file is causing the problem?
At the moment, it seems we're facing the following: Vasari vs TEC - end game somewhat favors Vasari, early somewhat favors TEC TEC vs Advent - relatively balanced, TEC has stronger economy, Advent has the better synergy But Vasari vs Advent - end game favors Vasari a lot I propose that the current culture resistance against phase missiles be buffed to the point where all Advent ships while in friendly cul

Yeah I guess luring would be the best way. I think as TEC Rebel, you've got considerably more options. Their Titan does well against enemy Titans. It may be one of the few instances that it is worth deploying Kols - to engage enemy Titans. I'd agree that Dunov would work well. Not so sure about the Advent though. The Loyalist Titans are quite strong. Not so sure what the best combo of capital ships is going to be. Pr
Out of curiosity, what is the best way to kill a level 6+ Vasari Titan? Assume this is versus a capable human player and that this is a fleet vs fleet engagement. With the Maw, I assume that a conventional fleet is totally ineffective. That and it has Desperation stacks so again a massed fleet may not work well. Corvettes? Maybe massed carriers supported by capital ships and your own Titan (I was playing as Advent Rebel - the AR Titan seems to be
