Not sure if this has been said as I did not read every post. First, where you can play GalCiv without the CD I can understand why they do not want to allow people to have easy access. The guy you got it from in reality can keep playing it and getting updates as long as he never has to reformat his system (or so I think). That would mean that you and he can play from the same copy. Not good. Why not write back to the guy you got it from and ask him to update his account with

Please tell me where to DL Stardock So I can update GalCiv. Thanks Toothy
Frogboy, Please.
Let me show you what a Plain Statement would be: "Everyone that purchased GalCiv will be able to Download updates as long as they own the game." or "After one Year you will not be allowed to Download any updates unless you purchase Drengin.net." You know I did take your advice and go look at the Drengin FAQ. Very enlightening. Try this on for size since I do not seem to get it. QOUTE From Drengin.net: ________________________________
bonscott, Try being a bit less rude in life, it works much better that way. Also, Why not try reading it with me this time. Let's break it down here. Frogboy says: "It won't work quite like Object Desktop. Instead, when you buy Drengin.net you will continue to get updates to the individual games on there after your subscription expires. What you won't get are new games or games that are in beta." "Instead, when you "buy" Drengin.net you will
bonscott, It is anything but clear. Nowhere do I read GalCiv owners will get updates for life in his posts. Please point this out for me so I can see it as well. ****** Frogboy ****** Please, clarify as people obviously can not figure out what you are saying. Toothy

Frogboy, That still does not answer my question. Will it cost users $70.00 a year for updates to 1 game (i.e. GalCiv) after this time is up? Also, Will I always be able to DL updates to the point I paid for no mater how far in to the future? (see my above post) Toothy
Frogboy, QUOTE: _____________________________________________________________________ Yes. When you have Drengin.net you will still be able to get updates to GalCiv after a year. _____________________________________________________________________ Are you saying to get updates after this it will cost users $69.95 a year? That seems a bit high for updates to one game, you think? I would also like to know if a year and half or two years from now I get a ne

Frogboy, Would you please clarify for me if people that bought GalCiv will be able to, after 1 Year still be able to come online here and update their game or not? From what it says in the Drengin.net tab in SDC it sure does seem that Stardock wants people to buy it every year of their life, for life. QUOTE: ________________________________________________________ With Drengin.net, people can get access to all of Stardock's games (GalCiv, LightWeight Ninja, The

Frogboy, Would you please give me a Step by Step on how to use the "Archive/Selected App & Extra Files" Section in SDC? I want to save these Files to a CD so I can have easy access to them after I reinstall my operating system again, and to simply have it on file. I know you said it can be done but I really need a step by step to know how to get it to a CD, and then how to go about Reinstalling it once again. Thanks Toothy
Frogboy, Enough said, Thank you very much. Toothy
Star Pilot, First, Pointing out the flaws in something is NOT whining it is basic business consumer relations. Second, if you are correct (which I highly doubt), why would they have created this Forum in the first place since they had an established SDC Program already running? As a matter of fact there are 3 separate forums here, hmmm. No one was clamoring for them to create it but indeed they did and as such hopefully are willing to listen to their customers. So, b
Maybe I missed something here, but just because Frogboy puts out a great game and support is excellent does not mean everything has to be considered great. I personally do not like the fact you come here and you are faced with searching page 1 to page 114! Give me a break, just to have little icons at the bottom of the post! :notsure: These could and can be viewed in the Metaverse if you want to see how cool they look under you name. There is very little functionality to
Frogboy/Staff, Please respond as to future Forum Status. Thanks Toothy
Well, could we get a response from Frogboy, or crew as to the future of this forum? Please, and Thanks Toothy
Am I the only one that thinks this forum discourages posting because of its less then user friendly layout? No General, Tech Support, Views/Reviews, or Off Topic areas at all, everything is in one Huge list. I rarely post any longer due to the fact that it is a vast morass of posting goodness gone haywire! Please, provide us with a more useful forum area where it is a lot easier to find what is needed. Thanks So, Am I the only one or what? To
GalCiv Team, Not sure if this is a Bug but here goes. I have trouble moving the screen "up" when I pull the mouse pointer to the bottom of the screen. It seems many times like it will not simply move until I pull up on the pointer and then pull back down again. It is like it does not realize that the mouse is at the edge of the screen and so the screen will not move. All other directions (Left, Right, and Top) seem to work with no trouble at all. It is onl
Technologists, hmm, that is all I have played so far! I have only won one game medium size on beginner AI's. Guess I will try another vantage point next time. Tooth
OK, Guys Try This Instead. . . Why not write this guy a "Polite" and "Respectful" mail telling him where you think he is misinformed about the game and ask him to reconsider looking at it again. Personally, I think if he would have contacted Stardock, Brad would have been pleased to tell him what he would like to know about the game. So, take you thoughts and direct them to the reviewer in a Polite and Constructive way. Here is the link that has his email
Frogboy, I agree about TCM. It is not much to look at but it one hard game to even hope to win. Btw, will there ever be an update for more product line to DL? Thanks Toothy
