OK, Let me try to make myself very clear on this issue. It is Not about the Size of the DL. It is Not about the Time to DL. It is Not about the Backing Up Folders After the DL. My question and point is I want to be able to Save the DL and archive it in my own home for future use by me personally. I have reinstalled my entire system on numerous occasions so I want it on hand. What happens if Frogboy decides to do something else and Stardock goes awa

Frogboy, A couple things here. 1. I was thinking just like Rustyblade that it is way to hard to tell Users from people on your Team. It would seem to make better sense to have a real Title before your name. E.g. Creator & Producer/CEO Stardock - Frogboy, or Lead Artist - [Insert Name], you get the idea. 2. This issue of direct opening of the files into the game is the first point that I really do not care for about this game. I know it has nothing to do wit

Frogboy, Are you saying it is like DLing a Patch? (i.e. GalCiv 1.01 form version 1.00) Whatever the case, can the file that will contain the Bonus Pack be burned to a CD? Thanks Toothy

I am not asking the size of the Bonus Pack or about keeping backups of the GalCiv folder. I would like an answer to the question. . . Will the Bonus Pack be a DL that can be saved to a Hard Drive and then burned on CD if people so choose? Plese read the above posts by me to get a fuller understanding of what I am asking. Thanks Toothy

Not being a pirate I may be missing something here but. . . If someone has a pirated copy (i.e. the full game after release) of GalCiv what would stop them from DL the bonus pack anyway? Does it matter that it is direct install or can be saved? Even if (for sake of argument) 50 people pirated the game and they all use the same Serial Number what stops them from DL the bonus pack at different times? Where I am going here is how will it tell the pirates (differe

I read in the post about pirating GalCiv that the bonus DL will not be able to be saved but will install directly into the game. Is this true? Please consider allowing your users to DL it and save it for future use without having to DL it again. I normally do a clean install of my entire system a few times a year and I can see where it will be a major pain to DL it every time I do this, or if someone just has trouble with their PC and needs to reinstall. IF we

Sad, so very sad that people opt to not support such hard work and faithful support as Brad and company have given and promised. I do hope you find the pirate and can stop it from happening in the future if possible. Maybe that means we should consider buying 2 copies each and giving one as a gift! :CONGRAT: :) Should I give you my birthdate!!!! ;) Toothy

OK here is one. . . SPACE FROGS - Killer Space frogs invade a planet and threaten to destroy all life on that planet as it is known. There is no way to stop this massive horde from their intended course as the planet sees it. Then out of the far reaches of space comes a Hero who is the Developer of the only known answer to this massive problem. . .it is . . . Frogboy :D Yes, Frogboy the Super Hero! :CONGRAT: He fearlessly removes the Space Frogs from this

1. Twisted Vision - This allows the Evil race to "Twist" what other people see when they look at your planets or in battle when they observe your ships. It give back false information to the other player that lasts say 2 turns focused in the same area or in a battle. 2. Societal Implants - Forced implants into the populous results in higher productivity, but greatly reduced happiness of the people. You can keep implanting more people every turn but run the risk of a planetary col

EDIT: Number 3 Above. You could also have the added effect that ships caught in this storm would suffer damage or loss of some smaller craft. Also, a storm like this would still allow you to move ships but others would not know about it. Sneak attacks, retreating a fleet that is hopelessly outnumbered, etc.

Few More: 1. Insect Frenzy - The insects on a planet start to populate faster and faster on each turn for X turns. This has the random result of: A. Total loss of planet B. Total loss of all crops C. Happiness level decreases, while the manufacturing gains due to the people needing the insects to be controlled. 2. Planetary Core Disruption - The core of a given planet is disrupted and violently shifts the entire planet on it axis. This has a negative effect or a

1. Ancient Scriptures Found - These change the entire races direction of thought and focus. This continues till the player changes everything back manually or stays this way and the player now follows this line of doctrine for the remainder of the game. 2. Traveling Alien Sideshow - This sounds stupid but hear me out. An alien group travels around presenting a circus style show for various planets. Every planet that they visit loses productivity (due to people going to the see the show

Here are few. 1. Space Storm - Space Dust blocks a % of the sunlight and decreases the food production for the duration of the event. 2. Solar Eclipse - Darkness covers the planet for an extend time and creates panic in the populous that takes a certain amount of time to pass before they go about producing normally again. 3. Nova Effect - A star in a near by galaxy goes nova and provides the planet with greater food production but less reproduction of people. Or the
