Yeah, my understanding is the next hotfix patch should take care of it, which the devs are working on feverishly to get to us. This isn't really pertaining to 1.1 strategies, but 1.1 bugs. =)

If the Akkan has the level 6 ability, you could use it on the way out after colonizing to help protect the Akkan
ive been droped from a game 4 times in the past 2 days now due to ICO going down and its really making my water boil...
Time to make Tea! Recommend Chamomile
Someone can correct me on this, because I don't play the AI much except when people drop. I don't think Hard and Unfair AI's are smarter? They just have more money to spend.
Followup, over the course of that game, we had a couple people disconnect. I talked to one of them afterward, and he said he had Alloy on. Also, when we got the "Disconnected from Ironclad" message, we immediately lost another. Based on my experience with having Alloy on, I suspect he did as well. Otherwise, the game was very long and successful for the people who remained. Well..until I killed them. Just giving feedback, could be coincidences.
FYI, we just hosted a big game with the host having Alloy on, and it immediatly locked up and ICO crashed again until someone reset it. I just hosted a game after having everyone turn Alloy off, and we seem to be fine. Just providing feed back for your troubleshooting. Might have been a coincidence, but it seems possible that the host site is not friendly to Alloy? Good Luck
Yeah, the combat mechanics post has much more info and should be attempted at some point. The damage vs armor chart is current for 1.05 and I'm guessing the owner will update it for 1.1 at some point.
They were initially going to go with 43%, but they ended up going with about 25%... (There are both entries in the Changelog, if you look farther down, you see the other entry). The Anti Very Light damage type was made more effective against heavier armors than in previous versions, so this is probably what Pherdnut was referring to...the combo of the two resulted in a small nerf to Flak against strikecraft, but left it able to do small amounts of damage to heavy armor ships.
It surprises me how often I encounter people asking me this online. Here is the the basic breakdown. Note, all ships can damage any other ship, but some are very effective at killing one type and less effective at another. Also, some ships are effective per unit cost, not 1:1.... (ie. Cobalts are great at killing carriers, but you should probably have 3 Cobalts for every Carrier, because carriers are big and expensive). Also note each race's ship of a particu
and my topic got closed down for asking what was going on with 1.1 >.> heard there was trouble with alloys netcoding :/? doesnt that have anything to do about it???
Alloy netcoding works like a champ, or none of us would be able to play a game. This also never happened in beta. They are having some kind of exotic problem, which is why it is intermittent. Better to just let them find and fix it than to speculate.
There ARE enough if the movie has appeal to normal people. Nor sure if a Klingon war epic told in Klingon fits the bill. I can't even get some of my friends to watch foreign language movies that are excellent, like Pan's Labyrinth.
I've always wanted to see a Klingon movie, spoken 100% in Klingon and done like a three hour battle epic! That would be amazing. I think a whole series of Klingons would get old though. They don't have much depth of character y'know.
OMG...this would be expensive to make. It would have tons of costumes, tons of makeup. Tons of exotic sets. Tons of special effects and ships blowing up. Tons of complicated action sequences that ar
That map was loaded with neutrals. Being the only Vasari pretty much garunteed our victory.
Yeah, you should have seen my reaction in ally chat when the game started and I realized none of us were Vasari..I wasn't paying attention I was whispering someone when we launched. If I had realized, I would have been Vasari.
Ayup, it is down Maybe I will go see Quantum of Solace. I just have to figure out how to get to the movie theater without being burned by the sun.
Yep, ICO went down. Good thing too...How was gonna come and eet me up.
It looks like a 50's Cadilac.
Lol, Cadillacs are HUGE! I am pretty sure it was a 60's Corvette roadster as well. And yeah, little JT is obviously driving an antique car off a cliff. This was a training run for Driving the Enterprise into a planet in Star Trek III.
I for one want a spin off series based on the Romulans! Then maybe one focusing on the Klingons! Those series could interact at different points.[
Sylar doesn't even have to do that now. He just hugs people and gives them warm fuzzies while he takes their power.
I bring the ships that kill the other guys ships. And a cap. If you don't know what kills what, build a little of everything and cross your fingers.
Advent economy is the worst, unless the poor Vasari player can't find any neutrals...then he is in a lot of trouble too. On the plus side, ton for ton, Advent ships bring the damage and have very good synergies once you get rolling. They have the toughest scouts which can be used in an emergency to fight off LRM's or Assailants, they have the best carriers, and (arguably) best LRF, the Illuminator. These ships are more expensive than their TEC and Vasari cou
Supposedly you are not really nuking the whole world, just the enemy bunkers and control points on the ground. I guess Heavy Fallout and Novaliths are the exception, where it is hard to live afterwards. I think it is one of those things where gritty realism is glossed over a bit for multiplayer game mechanics.
Only 3.44 MB for all that new content eh Anny /sarcasm off.
LOL! It is a huge patch, the 3.44 MB patch takes you from Beta 1.096 to 1.1. You already had almost all of 1.1 installed. If you actually patched straight from 1.05 to 1.1, it is quite large. Don't remember the exact number, but it was hundreds of MB.
The Cobalts totally remind of Quagmire from Family Guy.....I am just waiting for one to say Giggitygiggitygiggitygooo"
Someone would have to analyze your replays to see exactly what is happening. Are you playing against Hard or Unfair AI's? The Unfair AI has a huge economic starting advantage.
Star Empires IV is very good, I also enjoyed Sword of the Stars. The former is far more like MoO2. Sword of the Stars brought a few new ideas to the genre and it that "just one more turn" special medicine that kept making me miss my bed time.
You mean Space Empires IV, right? I played that a ton many years ago. The game wasn't flashy, but it had a lot of detail. I looked into Space Empires V, but I heard it
Yeah...the game looks damn good...and sadly, I play 90% of the time zoomed WAY back.
