Tbh i don't like the the whole story about a bear attacking a man. Its not all muslims who are terrorists. And im not saying terrorism is justified but i do understand why some people in the middle east get upset at times. I get upset when i see how the west act. The difference is i don't have bombs dropping in my back yard. Religion is fine as long as you don't demand other people live under the rules of said religion. And in general islam is used by terrorists as a mean of focus and

I have read some of the quran, and i can say that it is by no means peacefull. But its also rather confusing since it sometimes talks about peace and other times how non believers should be killed. But i object against any kind of religion and ideology that try to limit free speech. I agree we should respect each other, but i reserve my right to say anything about anyone at any time. With that said i can only say that anyone who disagree with me on the right to free speech could pack hi

Actualy our prime minister in denmark have just recalled our troops from iraq becouse "the job was done" as he put it. Now i dont like bush and i like our prime minister even less. I feel sorry for the soldiers in iraq since the whole war is based on a lie and a mistake. Im not sure if it was in the US interest to go inn back in 2003, but im pretty sure they regret it now. As for denmark, it was never in

Look at Homeworld, for example. Strike Craft That's just wrong. Not all Frigates kill Strike Craft, and not all Strike Craft kill Capital/Mother ships. If you want to send Ion Cannon Frigates against a squadron of bombers be my guest. Rock, Paper, Scissors simply declares that the winner is whomever guesses and then builds the correct counter. Im not say

You cant put it up like that. Yes the capital ships would peoperly die depending on there level etc. But its not becouse i simply mass captial ships. Im saying they lack diversity. Another thing is is force multiplyer. Sure 10 capital ships would lose. But now remove 6 of them and replace em with 35 missile frigates and 15 cobolt cruisers and see who wins. The only thing to consider when you want to build a capital ship is weather you have one already and then rather take another for it

He he Angros its funny you should mention RoN which i think is a highly overrated game. But i agree with you that it ofc shouldnt be like it was in RoN becouse you can also very easly overdo the whole "RPS". But i still think that the ships feel to generic in Sins so i would like to see some added. But you might be right about the cruisers. If they were to implement them properly so they actualy was worth there name it might do alot. Right now cruisers seem like nothing more then slightly larger

Also, I really dislike classic rock-paper-scissors balancing. Right now Sins is reasonably close to achieving an acceptable balance while relying on unit abilities rather than abstracted damage tables. (The flak frigate is a notable exception, but its function is perfectly logical, so I don't have any issues with it.) There is nothing wrong with what you call "abstracted dmg tables". It makes PERFECT sense that some weapons simply wont put a dent i

I really don't see what Dreadnoughts would add to the game, and I don't know of anyone who plays Rock, Paper, Scissors for fun. Ehh "Rock, Paper, Scissor" is besides a game where you use your hands also a often used term in game design. Its based on the idea that some units is very good at dealing with another unit while weak against some other units. It should help promote diverse fleets instead of simply massing one unit. Hoped that

If they are in for the cinematic feel they should implement som formations. And im not talking about the group phasejump feature. But real formations with a few options so you can say frigates up front capital ships behind. Just so it looks structured. They should be able to move in this formations also at the speed of the slowest moving ship.

I think its a feature It forces you to have some units in the back etc. If they only appeard from the sun i dont think they would serve much of a purpose. Since you could then block em off like you do with the enemy.

I have finally gotten XP installed again so i can play som sins. So now ive tried out beta2. I really think SINS needs a whole lot more rock/paper/siccor when it comes to combat. Right now all the different ships just dont seem all that different. Sure when you get to know em you will see they do have differencies but these are to small. Secondly i think the game needs another ship class. One above captial ships. Fighters < frigate < cruiser < captial ship < dreadnought

I only build ship yards at my home planet. It dosent take that long for em to get to the front. But in a multi system game it might not be that good if all your ships pop out at the first shipyard he he. But so far i only play single system games since its seems a bit flawed at the moment. I havent yet encounterd a single AI in any of the other systems. I know they all start in the same but they never seem to expand to other systems.

I would still want econemy in the game he he since i enjoy the slower build up. But more combat is always good. As it is now i think the game lacks ship types more then anything else to make combat really fun. It need more frigates to start with, so that you have some varried choices and something to do tacticaly in early combat.

Yeah i think also its a average over time. If you took the beam weapon as a example. It might have 15 as average dmg displayed. Its actual dmg pr shot might be... 50 pr sec for 3 sec = 150 7 sec cool down on weapon 10 sec total of 150 dmg = 150/10 = 15 dmg pr sec as displayed. With the OP's suggestion of something like "36-48" i take he means on a pr shoot basis. But then you would have to figure in rate of fire. That is already taken care of in the a

The gauss cannons might benefit from displaying their range when selected...? I agree, I wish they would do that, right now they only show their range when being built. Also I wish there was an option to increase their rate of fire through research... You can increase there dmg with research In the n

actualy, becouse this is beta cheat codes would be logical. You can test things out very quick with cheat codes. Instead of playing a map for 3 hours to test something in the end game you can fast forward to it with cheats. Secondly ive never ever seen a game destroyed by cheats. If you dont like em dont use em.

Your in favour of keeping it in the game? Its clearly a design flaw if its possible. What would the fun be if you couldnt wipe out your enemy just becouse he have 3 cruisers with a certain ability. I think the idea behind its design was to allow fleets to escape and use it to retreat.

Posted in the "beta update" thread but might as well post it here to i guess. with March 31 - v0.61.009 version of the game i have stuttering in the game whenever i move my mouse. This happens no matter where in the game i am. From in game to menus. Its the first time ive seen it and the 2 previous versions ran flawless. Windows XP SP2 P4 intel 3GHz Nvidia 6800GT 256MB 1 GB RAM

Anyone else who have had a major downgrade in game performance with March 31 - v0.61.009 version When ever i rotate the camera or use the zoom function my game stutters. In previous versions it have run flawless. Im running a 3ghz P4 intel, 6800GT 256mb, 1 gig ram. EDIT: found out its not when i move the camera or zooms, its whenever i move my mouse. Both in conjunction with camera rotation/zooming or even on menus like the main menu. I can see the background image

I dont think ship design belongs in a game like this. But i do agree on with the OP that captial ships could get a slightly more defined role. Ill admit that as you learn the ships better and better i do see that each have some strenghts etc. But its rather subtle. construction times could maybe for captial ships be upped a little. But otherwise then that i think its ok. building alot of those and going into heavy fighting, will drain your resources by alot. And building back up a fleet

As it is now, you have to make a choice early on in a fight. Stay or run. Becouse when you first get into it, its hard to run away without taking heavy hits. And that is a good thing imo.

ouch just thought it might actualy be cool to have a system where you could place stuff on the black market for other people to buy. Maybe the AI will have a hard time handling it. But for multiplayer with human vs human it could be cool.

19 Replies 3,739 Views

Yes making resources a bit more rare sounds like the way to go for me too. It should be that u will more likely buy the resources than sell them if you are at war all the time. Because war takes up resources I was in a game where i think the resources reached a cap in the black market. I had a to much money and apparently all d
