Sim City 4 has its moments, not on the whole as good as 3 IMHO. No, EA is off my list. EA Games Challenge Everything, especially my digestion. EA means forget it.

Master of Orion 2. For those who have never seen it, GetDaved is putting up his third play through, knows what he is doing and is good commentator. Playing as Silicoids on Huge Galaxy Map without Creativity points. Something different! I usually leave the Silicoids to be wiped out by someone else by mid game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfWeI8XaOm8&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL

Forgot to mention, Torchlight 2 was there. Looks excellent! The price has now been announced as $20, which is same as Torchlight 1, but Torchlight 2 is a much better game. TL1 was essentially a modern remake of Diablo 1 and TL2 is very like Diablo 2 Lord of Destruction. Since TL2 can be played offline and does not have a Real Money Auction House, they will probably pick up some fallout from the Diablo III excitement. Also worth mentioning in this genre is Path

Some good GW 2 videos if you happen to like mmo, but most of the games there are just not my thing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ttfOuxB6Gc&feature=feedu http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnVGEYGE8hs&feature=relmfu

Think it will be a good game. They have a new engine that does a wonderful job with textures. That being said, the game play at the stage I saw it looked entertaining but the weapons for some reason did not excite me. Now Borderlands 2 has been announced. No release date yet and very little info. I liked the first Borderlands, but not the expansions very much. With game play excitement focused on the highly variable weapons you manage to find it held my attention. Borderlands

D2 is an old favorite. Spent many a happy hour. D3 seems an entirely different game. The classes do not seem up to par. Never liked Barbarian anyways. Where is my Druid? Maybe there will be a Druid and they just haven't said. And what is this Witchdoctor? Not me, no thanks. Well, the Demon Hunter might be exciting. But dual wielding cross bows? Lame! C'mon! Monk is a hopeful sign. How can you screw up a monk? Wizard also looks pretty good. But what the game nee

Aw Bobinator 5000, you've just got buyer's remorse! Leave it alone for a few days and try again. Then too, low blood sugar can do that to you. Go eat some doughnuts, some ice cream. Get a good night's sleep. Impulse is a good doggie! You do not need it running to run the game, only to update. Disable the ads, won't see those again. Meanwhile pay a visit to GoG. Might be a game over there you like, though most are older games. No copy protection or intruder ware

Didn't know it even existed! Not even on GoG, lol. Watched youtube video. Too arcade for me, but the flight part looks very well done for its time which was 1992. That was the time of 486 cpu! Fly your F4U Corsair in a war against aliens invading Earth in an alternate history where WWII never happened. Never played it when it was new, but at the time it must have really been impressive!

I'll read up on Rebirth. Thanks for the heads up. Think I have TC on Steam. Two problems with TC. 1. It just ran way too hot, my graphics card I mean. 2. Even after reading the forums it left me bewildered whenever I tried to do anything, and back to the forums some more.

Played the old SC since practically forever. Tim, I understand your frustration. SC 2 like SC is tuned for esports competition. Thus it requires much study and even more practice. It is in the very hard category. Maybe harder than that. SC 2 is the Tour de France racer of online RTS competition. No comfort bike for casual rides. Bottom line is this. Do your first impressions convince you that this is the way you want to spend your time? Because you are about to spend a very larg

I traded with Gamestop for years before going digital download only. Never had any trouble with them. Maybe my local store was an exception. The sky is not falling. Impulse will now be better, have more features and more games. I see this as a good deal for everyone. Gamestop is headquartered in Grapevine, Texas not far from the DFW Airport. Long before there was a DFW Airport I used to go on country bike rides through that area. Y'all eat some Jalapeno's and c

Doesn't end, James. There are so many new games coming down the pipe. Of course waiting for Guild Wars 2 is like the old play Waiting for Godot. Even worse, what's out and available is far more than I have time to even dabble with, never mind play.

Captain! I have detected large quantities of good stuff heading towards us in this sector! Mr. Screwloose! Set course for ... Sins Rebellion first. High probability of a game that plays well with not very many release zerg ... uh bugs. Sword of the Stars 2 . Version 2 of an already decent game. Of great interest to Star Fleet Command. Gemini Wars . Watch progress closely. Capture a Demo! Hype and trailers are one

The general idea is good. I like it! One of the old reviews of the first Galactic Civilizations I called it Traders to the Stars. Galciv 2 could be reworked to do this. Maybe after Fallen Enchantress. I can see a market for a pure builder trader game.

Someone is always predicting the end of the world, probably have been since the first humans sat around a camp fire. Sometimes in a localized area it really happens. Destruction of the Minoan Empire from the eruption of the volcanic caldera Thera. The universe is a dangerous place. If anything does get us en masse it will probably be something that nobody is expecting until the moment it arrives.

A near earth orbit spacecraft takes about 90 minutes to go around the earth. That's at what ... 150 miles above the planetary surface. Go to geosynchronous range and it's 24 hours! Lunar distance, nearly a month. If orbit speeds are realistic, not much change in position during normal game play. Even if you do speed it up a lot, something close to a planet will go around faster than something farther out. And now the game has a lot of extra calculation to do. SpaceWar,

This game will sell like hotcakes, yes. It looks wonderful for casual gamers, which is about 95% of the market. From what I have read and the videos I've watched, considered as a typical RPG it probably lacks a lot. But considered as a whimsical humorous and fun way to spend an evening it will rank at the top for most players. Those looking for a serious gaming challenge probably won't find it. Those just looking for fun and entertainment will be delighted. And just th

Actually? These guys are the cyber equivalent of the looters who always rush into areas hit by disasters to steal what they can. Apprehend, convict, sentence to 50 lashes well laid on. But ... nah ... we're too civilized to do that aren't we.

The Cynical Brit aka TotalHalibut has number of game play videos up and running on Youtube. Search for "Magicka TotalHalibut" Me? Well, it has friendly fire. For me a NO! Bet the AI spends half its time nuking itself. Edit: Well, after watching videos I will give this one a try. By the time it gets onto Impulse the remaining tech problems should be solved. And it is a bright and humorous game! This is a college project that g

Played the original DAO, for DA 2 only watched demo playthrough by TotalHalibut on youtube. Based on that decided to wait until the price comes down to something more reasonable. Then too, patches, mods, and expansions will improve what appears at the moment to be a fairly dismal gaming experience. Metacritic , current metascore pro reviews 84/100. Current user rating 3.0 based on 257 users.

First organize all your tips and tricks, meditate on them. Then load up your copy of Diablo 2. Fetch Brother Laz's Median XL Super Mod and install. Discover that all your tips and tricks are worthless and that you have died and gone to hell! Ask Satan* what you should do! He will tell you that anticipation of any game is much more fun than the game itself will be; that getting there is not really all that much fun compared to thinking about getting ther

Pirates as they are in Sins just seem intrusive without any real purpose. To me anyways. Yes, I understand their use as a club with which to secretly harass opponents; I would rather harass the opponents myself! In the Civ series Barbarians provided a bit of combat during buildout which was otherwise deader than mud. They were mostly gone by later stages of the game. I would suggest just make them trash mobs, no bounties, unpredictable strikes. Good for getting a level maybe t
