Playthrough with latest expansion starts here, link below. Can see what it is like. Think I want this. Looks like everything I hoped for in MOO3 and did not find and much more besides. Lots of cool aliens. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgNsTgSHLVE

I went to a famous institute of technology and graduated with a degree in physics, with minors in the philosophy of science and physiological psychology. After graduation a personal experience convinced me that there was a lot more to the universe than was covered in the physics books. Thus while convinced myself I am still vaguely interested in discussions like this one. Over the course of my career I have had the opportunity to hear the beliefs of others in science. It is safe to sa
Great review. Will try and get. This looks like what MOO3 should have been and much more besides.
Try some SC2, if you can't keep up there then welcome to old age noob out. Best solution is to decide that all games too fast for you in fact suck. Turn based is where it's at. Or, just watch videos on youtube. Takes no reflexes at all. Helps support view that most games suck and can safely be ignored.
Have to put part of game up on server. Distribute client free. Charge to register for game. Problem solved if done right. Guild Wars does this. Go pirate the GW client. You can get a free copy of it right from the guild wars game site. And what you have is nothing unless you pays your money. Doesn't have to be an mmo. Any game can split itself into a client server model. No offline, but tough beans.
Nothing to get excited about. Mysterious plague turned them into The Sims. Hearing their old comrades talking like that drove them mad with fear!
SC 2 is not my game, but it is very popular. Look at the view counts for replay commentaries by Husky StarCraft and some run into the hundreds of thousands. Lot of fans among college age I think. Just too old here to keep up with the frenetic pace.
I do but don't know jack ding about tech problems, EA, or The Slimes 3
What I like about Ironclad is their spaceships do not look like collectible salt shakers. They got style and taste.
Found only one video on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMjbs28QBgM Someone with fraps could post a bit of game play with comments and become famous! Assuming there is enough capacity in the machine to run the mod and fraps, which may be a poor assumption.
This all does a major thud with me. Realism is dubious. Ships are very unrealistic anyway fighting what amounts to ocean naval battles in outer space. Real space battles would have the ships engaging thousands of miles apart or even light minutes apart. So throwing in fuel, ammo, food, crew endurance and such does not add to realism at all. it is just more micromanagement for player and AI. Terrible burden on the AI programmer. Of course I hated fuel ships in Swsord of the Stars. I ha
These days find all games except Sins and Guild Wars boring. Wish I liked some great games like those listed here, but I am just spoiled.
Update via Impulse worked for me few days ago. So nice to devs from me. Good fellows!
Turn off pirates. Stupid rancid cheese. Don't need them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uz5Uo8ck2m8 Watch this, do like he does.
I don't think that's accurate. That was the old release date, but some Stardock guys have said its also going to be delayed until Spring 2012.
Which Stardock guys, not that I would be surprised. Is this a confirmed rumor? Spring or Summer 2012 fine with me. This has been the year of games that never happened for me. Guild Wars 2 has an estimated release of late 2012. Originally we had hoped for late 2011. Sigh, well
HOMM3 is the one that seems to get the most youtube activity out of all of them. Boardgamergirl continues her marathon play through.and TheMeinTeam is back at it again. Probably others, just haven't noticed. Game is too hard for bears of weak brain like me but I like watching others play. HoMM3 seems to me to be like SoaSE in some ways. You put together a group and see if it can defeat an enemy group. But Sins has research and HoMM3 does not. I try to play HoMM3 but I am bad at it. Liked
Lots of great advice in this thread. Why do not the devs or someone on this forum make an instructional video that teaches the same things? I myself would but I do not have the horsepower to run fraps.
/disagree /troll /gopostonwowforum *tell them their graphics suck* /logontofacebook /insult everyone and everything /bye
There is only one I use, For Ascalon!
$40 is cheap at the price considering it contains all of Trinity as well. And the big plus, it is one of the few games currently out that I can consider a "grown up" game. All too many games now are flash bang graphics displays that entertain bears of small brain for a weekend. Sins focuses on game play while having wonderful graphics and can entertain someone with a brain for years. I only wish Ironclad were 10 times larger so they could add even more stuff quickly.
It is with a small cry of joy that I read that the devs are working on better tutorials. I suggest that Sins is a very hard game to learn. I also play Civ 3 and 4. Now those games you maybe watch a couple video, turn the difficulty down to self destructive moron for AI and start playing. Presently you are pretty good. It is all there for you to see and you get immediate feedback on everything you do. 1. Better tutorials are part of the answer. 2. The second part is fai
Actually, this one; rather watch videos and those are free. The older I get the lazier I get and I was pretty lazy to begin with.
Has stirred my interest in Morrowind. Waiting for a $5 sale on Steam. Oblivion now $5 on Steam, but just cannot stand Oblibion interface. Alternative Start mod s sharp. Hate tutorials.
Steam? Excellent. Now I can Rebellion without feeling tremors of impending doom! Love Steam. Never any problems.
I was on the Hellgate London test server from almost game start. So I could adjust my build as I went along. Hellgate London was great, when it worked. On the second pass, Nightmare. Never a dull moment. I did think of it as like Diablo as a fps. I stayed in fps mode mostly with Marksman and Engineer. So I too do not fully understand why Blizzard went isometric with Diablo 3. Yes, I am an experienced D2 player and many offshoots. I understand isometric. But getting right into
