Your chances of getting caught pirating games is about the same as getting caught pirating music. Does it happen? Sure. But I'd bet the farm they don't go after 99% of said pirates. As to doing something illegal if I thought I wouldn't be caught? That's pure bull. My morals prevent me from doing so, just as they prevent me from walking out of a store with unpaid items. You see, in my mind, that is exactly the same thing. In most pirates minds, t

Ah, I always like to eliminate ram issues and overheating first, sorry if my above post implied any rudeness. Now then, is any of your hardware overclocked? OCed ram can be very delicate. If anything is OCed I would suggest lowering them to default values and run the game again. If it still crashes I would fire off some emails to [email protected] and see if they could help you.
Try this KB link from MS, it may help. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/917925 It would be more helpful if we knew what OS you are using.
Odd indeed. I don't have that particular problem on 32bit Vista Home Prem. Though Vista does occassionally do some wierd s*** with my save files from other games if they are stored in the UserName/AppData folder structure. Some kinda user security thing perhaps? Do you have UAC on?

To the OP can you give us your system specs? When your comp reboots, is there an error message? Do your system logs provide any further info?
I would test your comps ram and check the temps to make sure it is not overheating.

Hmm, is it me, or are the Text/Binary fields reversed? Telling it to convert to Binary actually converts it to Text and vice-versa. Using 1.2.2.0.

And as Elrosh said, the Vasari SB has no mass killing ability that the Advent (Meteor Storm) and TEC (Last Resort) have. The ability to move, its debris vortex and shield helps to balance this. All in all, I'm rather content with the balance.

The system should prioritise all attack, incoming attacks and bounty changes to play over all else, so that they aren't skipped. Example; "Planet Development Complete" That's great, except you didn't audibly warn me about the inbound hostiles! *Fires planetary governor....out of a cannon....into the sun.
They surrendered (which will leave their planets & ships). The AI seems to surrender at the drop of a hat in Entrenchment, probably the 'when should I surrender value' is way to high. Currently unresolved.
