For those who like me have found themselves unable to login to the metaverse features in-game, I believe I've found a fix. Here's all you need to do: 1) Start up GC2 2) Begin a new game 3) CHOOSE TERRANS AS YOUR RACE! 4) Wait until the galaxy is all loaded up 5) Exit GC2 Thats all you should need to do. Next time you start GC2 up, it should work (at least it has for me). It seems that for some reason the metave

kryo did you get the SECOND build from last night? (showed up very late last night) It's the same for me on both builds. No luck and no logging. I might try wiping and reinstalling yet again tonight, just for kicks. Maybe it'll make a difference.

An alternative that may have already been suggested is the Zoning idea: you only ever build basic building types, then the governor will automatically upgrade them when possible if you're not building anythign else. Then you could set the higher buildings with cheaper build prices, as they'd always be built as upgrades of previous levels.

As it stands now, the worst boundaries are in the Cleveland area, though that's simply due to the high population requiring it to be split. Last I saw, the city itself is divided into two districts and there are two more districts covering the surrounding area and suburbs. The majority of other districts follow county borders. It's worth noting that the current districting rules in the state constitution require that districts be compact, cont

Despite much trumpeting of Democratic "victories" such as maintaining control of the Virginia governorship and defeating Armie's propositions in generally Demoract California, Democrats suffered a major defeat here in Ohio yesterday. For those not in the know, a mostly out-of-state funded Democrat interest group calling itself Reform Ohio Now had been pushing

Well, giving the fact that I can't zoom out with hot keys (I have already post a bug about this) on my computer (french keyborad and french XP), I found the mini-map helpful Get a mouse with a scroll wheel

I have, though it seems that even when the influence ratio on a planet breaks 4 the chance to flip is still very low--I've seen planets with influence rations upwards of 30 sitting happily for many turns without flipping (though they had the unrest icon, it took forever for them to flip). The key to getting huge culture seems to lie in the government techs, not in culture research as you'd expect. I tried researching all the culture techs an

Hrm... how does one go about using paypal on store.stardock.com? I'm trying to get something (upgrade to ODN from WB4) but it only shows options for credit card ordering.

Engines' sizes are also partly based on the hull size in addition to a base figure. So if the hull gets more room the engine will get bigger as well, which is a bug IMO (the % adjustment for hull size should be based on the standard capacity without miniturization techs, otherwise there is no point to miniturization if the engines just grow to match!). I believe the actual base+percentage size was listed on the parts on earlier builds, but now it just shows the total value.

in GC1 i seem to be intuitively able to see the best planets so far in GC2 I have to click on them to do so, so I think there is deffo something in what you say - perhaps I AM JUST TOO EARTHBOUND! If you want to know which planets are decent at-a-glance, just zoom out until it switches to the s

Miniturization works not by reducing components as you'd expect, but by increasing the capacities of your hulls. Assumably this is because lesser levels of miniturization would be lost to rounding if applied to the components directly. Whereas if you apply it to the hull you have a much larger number to work with and can more accurately apply the % adjustment.

Could be that also. It's certainly not staying put--when I saved, my current research had only a few weeks to go, and when I loaded, it had 40+ weeks to go

Culture bases -extend your "sphere of influence" so your color on the map expands, and i assume that it effects alien planets under it.... Not quite; AFAIK, it boosts the culture power of your planets within its radius (it does not directly effect alien planets).

It appears that the technology research speed setting that you set at game start is not being saved with the rest of the game data; after loading a game I had started with 'very fast' research, I was greeted by normal (comparatively long) research times on the remaining techs.

String bugs (may already be reported): First Colony event is still human-specific. Arcean start text has some uninterpreted line breaks.
