There is a multiplayer map pack available on SDC once you've downloaded the game, though I've yet to try it myself.

1) AFAIK, ordering the CD version is exactly the same as ordering via download/TGN, except that you pay a bit extra and get a disc too. So yes, you can participate in the beta. 2) Tomorrow. (The message you saw was posted last week.) 3) From what I'm aware of, your system should be able to *run* the game, provided your graphics chipset is directX 9 compatible. The sticky part is the 32mb vram. You'd have to get the specifics from
Why do you care which tile your colony hub is in? Unless SD has set precautions, I suppose it is possible for it to land on a very nice bonus tile (which you would have wanted to put the appropriate improvement in instead). But I've never seen this happen yet, so I would think that either the bonuses
Also why not to make a couple of projects speccific for chaotic and lawful civs ? Because GC alignments don't include an order axis as such. There are 'chaotic' good and evil alignments but all that means is 'kinda' good or 'kinda' evil.
Good to see ya here FC! Just hop in and look around. Most things should be fairly intuitive, but if you need help with anything be sure to check out the manual in this thread: https://www.galciv2.com/Forums.aspx?ForumID=162&AID=87351 Don't worry about the bugs so much, as there's a new beta due out later this week so most any bugs you run into will have already been reported (as the current one has been out for a couple of months already).</
So how does that fit with custom races? Do you get to build your own Starting System? How should that work? That would be interesting, but there'd probably have to be a limit on the total PQ of starting systems to keep it balanced...
Cause the "Canopener" class that you have designed there only has attack 4 with 4 lasers, so you're not getting extra power from higher level lasers. Or I guess maybe you're saying that since the class was designed with MkIV lasers, it should not have become available until that tech was researched. H
I think I'm being invaded by a vast army of Lowa fanatics. Now that is scary! Hmm... you know, an unstable hive mind might explain the writing style
Eager for beta 4 but stuck waiting still, I fired up the old build and played around a bit. Strangely, a ship design I had saved in a prior game appeared in the buildable list after I researched lasers (like the pre-designed ships do). But that's not the real problem. Not only was a custom ship loaded into the list for no apparent reason, but I had not even researched the needed techs for this ship, as it uses Mk4 or Mk5 lasers, and I only had Mk2 rese
AFAIK, If you have preordered, you'll be provided with a beta cd key by email when the next major beta version is released (currently beta v4, which is scheduled for release this coming thursday). You can then put that key into StarDock Central and download the beta when it is made available. It is important to note that there is a limited window of time during which the beta is available to preorder customers, so if you miss one (such as the current beta v3), you will have to wait for the next
I've looked up JVC widescreen subnotebook models, and confirmed that it should be capable of higher resolutions-- if you use an external monitor . However, this will require that you have the port replicator for your notebook. If you do have one, then you can just plug the monitor from your desktop into the notebook, and should be able to play just fine at 1024x768 that way. If you don't have a port replicator or VGA adaptor though (from what I've seen the notebook and its access
Also with regards to how the other races act (what tech path they take, what ships they design, etc.), taking into account something that "King in Yellow" said in earlier, would it be something along the lines of the Yor (being "machines") are more likely to go for lasers as precision weapons, where as the drengin would have mass drivers (big hard hitting, but less accurac
I find it extremely odd that your laptop runs at 1024x600, since 600 isn't a power of 2 Neither are 640, 480, 800, 768, 1152, 864, 1280, 720, or 960. In fact, 1024 is the only standard resolution height or width that *is* a power of 2 that I can think of <img src="smiles/Tongue.gif" border=0 ALIGN="a
I do believe Brad said it would be a simultaneous release. If it isn't and you don't mind the English version though, you can get it as soon as it's out on SDC no matter where you live
What are the criteria to achieve the different access levels Simply put, there are none. Other than Exile (banned) and Avatar/Senator (SD employee or volunteer helper), ranks are based on entirely subjective judgements by Stardock based on how helpful you've been to the community. If you want to get a higher rank, all you can do is be a good a
To get Diplomat (or Ambassador), be good and helpful enough (or contribute positively in some other way that stardock recognizes) to get promoted not once but twice (or thrice). Of course, that alone is no guarantee since there is no set criterion for promotions, but it would be a good start.
If not contact the manufacture and see if they have a utility that will turn off the Wide Screen 16:9 resolution They may have such a thing, but in this case it would be completely useless. As he said, 1024x600 is the standard resolution for his notebook (probably a 9" 16:9 screen model such as Fujitsu makes). Meaning that the screen is only 60
(also with GC2 if u have 1 planet which is ur food planet u could starve out a civ) Nope. In GC2 all planets provide their own food (food capacity determines the max pop the planet can hold without morale penalties).
AFAIK, 1024x768 is the absolute minimum it is designed for. It should work with just about any resolution above that, but not below. Looks like you're out of luck.
Now on a huge densely populated map. +4 fake planets = about nothing, useless........... Or just have a variable multiplier based on map size instead of a straight 5x all the time. Less on timy maps, more on larger maps.
You don't have to have the *largest* military for this be a large advantage. If you have weak ships (because you're a diplomat) then this GA makes those ships viable for defense. But if you have *good* ships, then a 5 times multiplier to those ships makes them just about invulnerable. You don't have to have the best ships. And, as you pointed out, you don't hav
If we do settle on the tax method, all I ask is that the amount each ship gets to put towards its upgrade be based on range is deducted directly, and not as a portion of a standard rate (the rest of which gets trashed). As I said, I really don't like the idea of hemmorhaging production like that would cause. That, and possibly reconsider making ships completely useless for the entire upgrade process (as mentioned previously, possibly upwards of 10-20 turns). Perhaps the ship could onl
A better alternative is to have them treated as if they are a damaged version of the new ship! Let them be upgraded in the field as if they are being repaired! If Brad and his team allow ship components to become "damaged", then everything will gel together. Then your upgrading in the field capability is actually your REPAIR IN FIELD tech! Now
No access for Veterans this time? I see no new links... Though considering the amount of use the old one got, I suppose it's no huge loss
4. You instruct the game to perform the upgrade. The "cheese" factor that I notice here is that this one planet is now essentially building several ships at once, instead of just the one they're normally limited to. I consider this as building several ships rather than refitting because these are only really ships in name, since the only components are those required to be
