I currently have Sins of a Solar Empire Trinity via Gamestop(Impulse when I purchased a retail copy of the game), will I have to purchase Sins again on Steam in order to enjoy the Rebellion expansion? You can buy and download Rebellion anywhere, whether or not you own Sins already in any form (Steam will be required though, again regardless where you buy it).
I think a better question is "why would anyone want to stick something upside their face that has been in the toilet?" Besides, if you're spending that long in the loo that you need to use the phone to entertain yourself, you probably need to eat more fiber :p
I downloaded an older version of the game... I do not distribute Malware. In which case (despite your intentions) you really have no idea what is or isn't in it. Linking and recommending such files is not acceptable.
Usually this sort of issue is caused by outdated video drivers--try updating them to the latest available from your video card's manufacturer.

If you bought it before Impulse was sold to Gamestop back in spring, you should be able to download Trinity from the store site now.
If you're having issues with your Impulse login, please contact Gamestop support directly. We can't do anything with Impulse accounts.
If you're having issues starting Trinity/Diplomacy, please open a ticket with support directly.
SDC was discontinued a few years ago--if you have the original Sins and any expansions (rather than Trinity), you will need to use Impulse to update for the time being. We're currently in the process of making our titles available through the store website and developing a new SDC since Impulse was sold to GameStop, but these aren't yet available for vanilla Sins.
Smurfing.
I'm fairly certain we've already mentioned we're going to address the issue with the multiplayer updates in Rebellion. If not, consider it "mentioned".
ICO logins are separate from any other account--log in with the username that you created for ICO (or create one if you're new), rather than your email address.
If you're having issues with Impulse downloads, please contact GameStop support directly or check their forums.
Yes, AFAIK. Game availability via the store site is still a work in progress since it's a complement to the new SDC (which is also not quite done yet).
As Sins is not a Steamworks game, it makes little to no difference whether it is "on steam" or not, save how you download it. If you just want to uninstall Impulse, AFAIK Trinity is already available for direct download on the store page (can't confirm at this hour as I only have the individual products myself), and the new SDC will be out shortly as well (probably before any further updates).

It's already the latest version when you download it, and the new SDC is getting pretty close.
Gamestop hasn't accepted PC game trade-ins (in general) for quite some time.
when installing MetalMargin, if CaretMargin, OverviewMargin etc. are already installed then the installer just says "Installation failed"
I believe that's a limitation of the VSIX installer (it won't install over existing copies of the same version). Sorry, we only offer the current version of the game (which is required to play on ICO anyway).
why would it say the email is incorrect?
Did you purchase a used copy of the game? Serial keys are non-transferable. Otherwise, please contact regarding any impulse registration issues. Once you've gotten that sorted and the game updated, you should be able to connect to ICO and create an account there for online play.
