bugged indeed. With the Titan, I was able to drop a phase gate, and was able use all 3 options; Combat fleet, support fleet, and capital ship. I needed to have the required funds, but nothing was actually spent on the ships called in.

Simply put, you'll see this on any pre-order where a release date hasn't been announced. Diablo III has had release dates ranging from Febuary 3rd 2012 (complete with in-store displays...) to the current December 31st 2012. Blizzard hasn'
Read Wired's section on $0.00 http://www.wired.com/techbiz/it/magazine/16-03/ff_free . The obsession of a FREE market is getting a physical item for FREE, but paying for a service over time like cell phones, Satellite television, internet, etc. You are paying for the service, but the equipment is free. Here's another way to see the futur
For $300, I would stay away from Intel and go AMD like MadDeez mentioned. You'll get the same preformance as the Intel processor iCore processors at a better price.
Mine attacked all targets, the only time they didn't attack in sequence is that something else blew up the target before the bombers reached it ending the sequence prematurely.
The article mentions a pirate that wants ownership of the files. Impulse DOES give you ownership of the files. You don't have to run any other program to run the game. Steam doesn't allow that, you have to be logged into steam in order to play any purchased game. Steam isn't bad, but I find this a major edge that Impulse has over other digital download services.
amusing, their poll says SINS is the big winner at 25%. [e digicons][/e]
Why hasn't the AI been updated to build starbases at stars? Does it throw the balance off in the game?
Sometimes it's not a necessity. If you add an option for the AI to do something, then it ends up being a requirement sometimes. The AI will build them when they shouldn't, resulting in a scattered or undefended system. There's too many variables to consider if the AI were to build on a star when there is only 1 star match
I can't seem to get pacts or missions going with others no matter what my diplomatic ranking with them is.
Read the Pacts closely, you need a 11.50 rank w/ the other player to start the first pact. And the value will increase with each pact. The only way I can see my own rank towards another player to increase is to assign enough missions for the rank to reach 20. Against an AI, well once you reach 10, just throw m
One of the main reasons for not having a 3rd expansion is that they ran out of $$$ patching Entrenchment and making some major changes that they never anticipated. The end result was to cut out the 3rd expansion which only hinted of a 4th race (find the April fools joke about the Care Bear race [e digicons][/e] ). For now they are pushing the envelope to wrap up diplomacy, waiting for sales on the game, and finishing up with balance issues. The rest will be left up
The game has physics involved. First rule, an object in motion tends to stay in motion. They kept that here, so a ship has to make the long route since it's moving. They implemented the Gravity well, so there's rules about movement. That's why the huge turn. Put it this way. Drive your car and make a right turn doing 40mph. You won't make the same turn if you did it at a slower speed and don't start with brakes, there are none in space only revers
If an enemy is using the Z-Axis, mines are an utter joke. They were clearly designed around a 2D battlespace, and using the 3D battlespace renders them useless and moot, hence why most people consider it abusive or even cheating.
sorry for the additional post, but remembering the Movie Galaxy Quest, the mine field was in 3D, could a 3D mine field be updated from the current design?
That's true which is why I never bother with mines anyways. Most matches I've been playing are against the AI even with friends. The AI only move along the Z-axis to get around the sun.
That's commonly considered an abuse; borderline cheating.
How is that abuse or cheating if it's in the game? edit: well I guess people like to tend to not micro manage tend to lose out of that option. The only down side is that you lose time during the z-axis movements. Sure you can get out of the way, but you are setting yourself up for defenders to return.
I guess none of you played HOMEWORLD. Hold the D key and you can move along the Z axis to avoid the mines. I know it's not in the tutorial, since most people don't use the Z-axis at all, and that people want their mines to be effective.
I hope they add the 6th Capital ship once the game is released.
After a couple of tries, it would seem that the AIs like to become your friend and you eventually win via alliance victory. I'll see if I can twist the AI into doing my bidding.
Short answer is you aren't able to. Currently the diplomacy is not really there as far as I can see so I'm not sure what we are supposed to be beta testing although perhaps that is one of the bugs that have come out of the beta!
That stinks, so until the next patch, it's a FFA unless you start the match w/ fixed teams. [e digicons]:|[/e]
all I can do is get to 24% relations by giving the AI stuff, the missions doesn't reward you, and I haven't been asked to do a mission in return. I know this is beta, but I'm wondering if I'm missing something. I see that the AIs are making friends w/ one another, but how do I make friends w/ them? edit: I am assigning them missions, but the relationship numbers fall faster then I can assign new missions.
You will get the beta, they are running the payments in order when since the pre-orders started almost 2 months ago.

I have Conquest Frontier Wars, it was a good game. The Fleet Commanders was a good idea, but there was no real tech tree, so there is no need for them. The Fleet commanders would add bonuses to certain types of ships and they only had 1 life. The commander would automatically board the strongest ship and escape in a shuttle when destroyed. But can die easily. You could only make 5 of them. The fleet ships did not have any bonuses just 1 or 2 abilities.</p
Look, a 6th CAP SHIP!!!!
That's the point, the AI can't do everything other than control everyship at once. Online play is the best.
