Looks like a 3D version fo Supreme Commander. It is, since the developer made Supreme commander.
They might be taking the minor race from GalCiv. They can thrive, but not expand. The other would be a stronger attrition based. You can expand through the emeny the same way but faster I guess. And I found this. "Here's the good news: Ironclad is deep-sixing the current diplomacy system in favor of a deeper, more functional one. There's other minor changes as well, such as the inclusion of new terms of victory -- but peaceable relations seem to be the
The AI surrenders when it cannot fight back anymore, normally when they lose their fleet and have 3 or less planets for development. It's annoying, but now the AI has been tweaked to fight on as long as they have ship yards. I normally play medium to large stars which takes hours to complete.
I don't get it. If you like the game, discuss it w/ other gamers in the forums, than why didn't you buy it in the first place? Pirating to try the game? There are demos. I award him the "Virtual Darwin Award" for getting himself kicked from Stardock. [e digicons][/e]
Play against the Unfair AI. They research high enough in the tree, and DO upgrade their starbases to the fullest extent on key worlds. You will notice that some AIs want particular planets and will fight for them even if they're allied up. (the random broken treaty) in order to obtain the planet. Just play around and you'll see their strengths and weaknesses.
some of the tactical ships can prevent the chase or just upgrade your defenses. I find that disabling the jump drive work best because my heavy assault cruisers chew them up at the jump point. In a LAN match I find I do more damage with a mix of ships rather than my friend's Battleship/escort carrier rampage.
That makes a good point. It's like buying a stock car. It's pretty cheap, but once you add performance parts, it all starts adding up.
The last two will never give you positive income to speak of...
only Dead Asteroids give you negative, but you can build Defenses there without worrying about losing the planet. But you should always add to the Population infrastructure or you will start losing $$$. The desert and volcanic planets always seem to need 2 of them, but hey it only takes minutes to get the $$$ back. Even
The fighter concept is taken from WWII, enuogh of them will cause a ship to sink. So the same concept is taken into account for space games. Make the armor strong enough, but keep hitting the one spot will put a hole in it. The one button idea will sink a ship, but even warships stay afloat after a torpedo hit, so a space ship will have the same concept where it'll still linger and have that section sealed off. Do enough damage and all members of the crew will be dea
I agree with Tkins, the current beta is what we are seeing. IronClad wants to revamp the current settings before adding the new ships and structures in the upcoming expansion. The biggest change that I like are the additional fighter squads in the carriers. (1 to 3), they are more expensive, but you don't have to clutter the field with carriers so you would have additional fighters.
It looks like a midevil twist of GalCiv II.
What is the last one in set 3 supposed to be anyway? I know its the SINS logo-thing, but what is it actually?
Search for the "times of War" video. It's all from the Beta, but the end shows the Kol flying through wreakage and than appears as the cover or icon of the game.
[b].047 has been released.
Maybe in Micro-Expansion 3 when they release the 4th race. [e digicons][/e] The race that was chasing the Vasari from their homeland. I loved the Carebear April Fools joke I could be wrong on both accounts, so don't quote me on that, Craig would probably reply saying "NO".
It's possible that Galaxy forge is getting an upgrade or there might be one implemented in the Micro-Expansion. For now, if you can get it to work and you're on beta, change your map from version 2, to version 1 and edit it in Galaxy forge. That's about it. Change the version back to 2 for SINS to read it in the Betas.
like my new avatar? [e digicons][/e]
reannsfer? I'm not following, do you mean transfer? If that's the case, than no. Do you think ANY world leader will transfer their country at will? No.
After a couple of months, EVE can be played for free if your in the right group and you have enough time to play. You can buy time cards with ingame money to pay for them. It's easy to make money in EVE and you can TRUST alot of people. Talk in the right channels, don't talk in the local chat because people do watch their backs first. I play both. but since were here, play Sins to save some money, but get EVE if you like MMOs.
Most people are used to buying Strategy guides, but in this game it boils down to experience. The AI is one thing, a person is another. Another part, 1v1 game vs a human will relate to this, a 3v3 is different. 3v3 games I've played, 2 players on each side are harassing each other, the 3rd on each side are building the bulldozer fleet if it's a single star game. 2 Stars, yeah, I'd like to see 1 fleet get by 3 human fleets at the sun. Unlike regular RTS games, time
Unless I need to put them somewhere, they won't work with the new 1.1 beta that I could see. Anyone else having the same issues with Galaxy Forge maps?
I moved to 1.1 beta, because I ran into the split game with my friend that wouldn't fix itself. We could trade cash and I could only see him move 1 of his ships, everything else was done by the AI in my game. He saw something similar but in reverse. The AI was controlling me, could not see MY ship movements, and we could trade credits, metal, and crystals.
The Vassari normally has to wait longer to obtain the trade posts, so build your first cap ship, build a bunch of frigs, and get the initial hull reinforcement, metallurgy, and weapon upgrades. Than expand to nearby asteroids and planets. Make sure your scouts checked them out. Some might have 10 or more militants which you'll need to combat with more frigs. Here's my beginning: (everyone has one and is different) cap yard cap ship crystal, than metal extractors<br/
I've created and modified some of the existing maps, named them without spaces, have them in the galaxy folder, and other players cannot connect. They receive the message file not found. I also emailed the map to them, have them place it in the galaxy folder and the same message appeared. Is there a fix for this or is this not a valid option?
Here's an annotated game as TEC against 3 locked/aggressor hard AI. It's a testament to the deterrent power of turret clusters at frontline planets, and features several other AI tips & tricks. The default filepath for records for me was C:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\AutoRecord-SinglePlayer1v3 Record
yup, it's not saved locally to the game install location which is where I thought it was initially.<br/
