Maybe change it so that inhibitors block enemy travel in the lanes between them? Or, just place in some psuedo science about needing a device on the other end of a given lane to "anchor" the disruption field that prohibits all travel by ships without the proper jump frequency patterns. (E. G. jump drives can be tuned to specific frequencies, and you have to change the frequency your on in the same pattern as the inhibitor to do any good). You could even explain the slowdown to enemy s

If you just want to reread something, it's quite unlikely that you'll want to do this while under heavy stress, ie. a situation when you need to scroll fast. "I need reinforcements at Alba!" "I'm sending troops to Ventris, but Corianas is on its own!" So imho you probably only need the message box while you have some time on your hand. Fast communication with your ally in multiplayer will anyway be d

does the psp version have updated graphics? or is it like a rom or something? Yes, they are updating the graphics. The GBA version had 16 bit graphics that looked like any other Super Nintendo / GBA game. Dunno how far they're taking that with the PSP version though.

2) Cancelling movement orders (ala Supreme Commander) is a great idea. Someone should post that in the Gameplay feedback thread (stickied at the top of the forum). Yarlen wanted that cross-posted here Personally, I love the idea -- for those of you that have played SupCom (and didn't run away screaming because of an irrational dislike of the icon's use

Final Fantasy originally came out for the Nintendo Entertainment system. I don't remember when it was released in the US, but it was somewhere in the early 90's (a relative gave me his copy as a gift for my birthday sometime in '95...). I love wikis: The NES version was released in the US in 1990, and the port I couldn't track down was a mobile version (still TBA for the USA). There was also an MSX and Wonderswan version released in Japan that never made it here.

But that prevents you from scrolling easily. Which I really don't like. Especially since the enter key is on the other side of the keyboard from the hand most of us righties leave our hands on.

Thats a horrible definition. Normal, is what everyone else is and you aren't. (That wasn't a person-specific you, TGE, so it wasn't a slam... even if I could use it that way honestly. Almost honestly.)

Um, no. I have not one problem. Why? Because, if you play this game enough you would know what a ship looks like from a 2D side view, and that is the symbols they use. And that should not be changed in any way shape or form. The problem is that the icons are a little muddy, hard to read. Sure, its a representation of the ship. Doesn't change the fact that they become hard to read -- especially if you're zoomed out a bit on the larger grav wells.

that guy's in a game? I thought they just made him up... ... /head in hands Good lord in heaven, where have you been? Ever heard of a little thing called "Final Fantasy"? The nuklear power comic strip is a satire of the original game in that series. And I would have thought that any serious gamer would have played that game by now. There are about 4 remakes of it, 2 of which are currently on the market, (GBA version an

well most scientists... You're joking, right? Are there any (respectable) scientists who work in anything else? And before you bring up the Mars Orbiter, engineers don't count. (The first Mars orbiter failed because the contractor used English units and never bothered to label. So NASA (like any intelligent being a metric user ) assumed they were

No, no, no!!! I paid for Sins of A Solar Empire, not Geometry Battles in Space: Quest for the Giant Cirle!!! Eh, your distaste for the system doesn't change the fact that its a very effective system that works quite well. Sometimes the complexity of the icons currently used makes them hard to read at a glance -- simplifying them really is a good idea. Though simplifying them all the way down to basic geometric shapes, ala SupCom, proba

- When (part) of a fleet is using a phase lane, you don't see the dots for those ships next to the fleet number. Is there any reason for this? The ships are still part of the fleet, even when they might be outside normal space... I believe those dots simply represent ships that can receive orders. If you hover over the number or the dots, you'll notice discrepancies depending on whether or not ships are in phase space. Why they do it that way I'm
