Hmmm, and so fleet points would be gained from orbital 'Military Fleet Supply Ports' (call it what you want) instead of planets? I think he was talking about the cap-ship "crew point" part, not the full up fleet points part. That said, I do like the idea myself, of having both bonus "fleet" and bonus "capitol crew" points coming from tactical structures -- it makes the tactical points of all those rear-area planets that you don't need to bother

The ironic part is that this is the planet that I first colonized at the very begin of the game. O.o don't you have to research the tech first? Why didn't you grab a few asteroids while you were waiting? On top of that, you're missing a bonus. You always get both expert crystal and expert mineral miners with the kalanite deposits. I wonder if its a display issue or the planet just already had too many bonuses to add it i

we already have your standard good waypoint system You can't manipulate the way points, so its not very good IMO. Add in the SupCom style way point controls 3) Ships should prioritise killing structures that are under construction at 0%. I'd much rather have structures at 0% just represent queued orders, and

The problem with negative discoveries is that they will encourage letting the planet get bombed out by the enemy, then re-colonized to get rid of the penalty!

It would be cool to have more economic bonuses for trade alliances. Yeah, definitely. Heck, I'd just be happy with non-aggression packs being separate from alliances. I am getting really tired of the AI taking my "lets not kill each other until later" proposals as "lets be bestest buddies!"

Personally, I find the idea of raiding the enemy's supply lines (AKA trade / refinery ships) to match up what your asking. And if it weren't for phase inhibitors, you could do that to anyone who forgets to build hangars as rear area defenses. Which means that scouts, again, can do that kind of fun. Just move the jump inhibition down, IMO -- it needs it anyway.

plz tell me the ai is harder to beat as in if i leave the game on overnight that im not there when i wake up That'll happen... some day. It is a lot harder now, but not enough to take out prepared defenses for the most part.

Well... that sounds very nice and everything but when was the last time you ate meat? Are you prepared to pay 200 dollars for a pound of meat that only comes from animals that died of natural causes? Old animals... animals that were sick? I'm not saying food animals don't die. I'm saying that I don't kill them to no purpose beyond spite. There's a big difference between respect and affection. Yup, and I do respec

that was a mistake. Sorry. I know Further, if tanumbaum knew how to turn some of it off then I don't see why Ryan wouldn't know it was at least possible. Theres a difference between possible and knowing how to do it. And, also, Tenenbaum had you in her "hands" when she did it, didn't she? <div cl

I'm not from another planet I know this game is a Beta, the only thing with betas is you improve from beta to beta. Its a beta: They have not only the right but the obligation to screw up from time to time. Why is it an obligation you ask? Because if they get it too perfect, they're spending too much time polishing internally when they should be releasing to us to help track down bugs. I don't know about you, but I want the flaw

Nothing, but its quite a know fact that people in band are a lot more sexually active. Really? I want in a band! I want in a band! ... Hey wait, I was in a band back in High School... darnit, another urban myth

Eh, only if you can gather enough data to accurately plot the enemy. As far as sins goes, projectiles move with sufficient speed and accuracy that any attempts by a frigate or larger ship to dodge would be futile anyway. So they don't even try. Strike craft can dodge, and corvette-class ships aren't in the game (so feel free to speculate whether they would or not). Of course, whether or not a target is in t

ron, you need to eat more doughnuts, then you would see what he means ... I know what a donut is. Its a great big circle. Which makes sense as a design for a space station. But I would expect such stations to be more like bicycle wheels so ships can dock in the near-0 G section, avoiding a little bit of the problems you could have otherwise.

. And I suppose that there is a setting at the game creation where you can decide the amount of Dead asteroids in the map? No, they're generated like any other planet. I personally would play with some, to make some remote, hidden bases. But I presume that "No logistics" means no interesting structures (like research station, shipyard, etc...) Am I wrong? Actually, they aren't any good as remote hidden b

Putting your own text inside the quote. How... annoying. He could have said "would you kindly kill yourself" and it would have been over. Or would you kindly kill Atlas and Fountain. He KNEW about your programming and he knew the control phrase. And so did Fontaine, who was in fact the person who "commissioned" you. Betcha Fontaine could override Ryan if he tried anything fancy. That said, the entire scene was probably ove

If they don't fix this crap im canceling my pre order. You can't. The second you downloaded the game you were stuck. must be some kind of joke. No, its a beta . As in not a finished game. What happened to the other races you guys were suppose to be adding in so we wouldn't need to edit the save game files. Those will come when th

how many people do you think would ACTUALLY do that? ./Raises hand true, how can we accomplish a copy (not to mention in different format, aiyayaie...) of what we are utterly confounded by? Why do we have to copy the human mind, to come up with a sentient computer? that is a MASSIVE difference. like, HUGE. like DAMN thats BIG! i find it funny people
