I'm going to guess it has something to do with the updates to make the forums more like the Elemental ones.
FYI: other than skins, these forums are the elemental forums. Literally! All SD forums share a common database, it's just that different websites 'link in' at different points in the heirarchy and thus show different things.

In order to patch, you must use Impulse. Your game should be linked to your account (if you bought the box from a store, you'll hvae to do this manually; if you bought it from SD it's done automatically) and be updateable from there.

So... what does this have to do with Sins? GalCiv? Elemental? :D FYI: "Off-Topic" is split across all of SD's forums, which are linked. The Demigod forums are linked to the Elemental forums are linked to the Sins forums are linked to... etc etc. It's all one database, and I can view this from Sins, Elemental, Galciv, and more.
We are currently planning to not even have the graphics engine in Beta 1 but rather have players play on the cloth map so that we can drive home the point that betas aren’t supposed to be fun, they’re supposed to be solving specific problems.
Hey, Frogboy, I have a solution: stop making the early 'not-fun' betas so much fun to play! :D I'm sory, but I enjoyed Demigod betas one and two (I haven't done much with t

Will modders have to release 8 versions of their mods in order to ensure full compatibility? By the looks of it modders are already having to make vanilla and entrenchment versions.
That's why the manifest feature was included in entrenchment.
PS: What is with the strange Ironc Clad bot or moderater messages during the game hahaha . Out of nowhere while playing "Should I get the ban hammer out? who is being naughty?" ...
I need to get online more often! (Schedule usually doesn't allow me to play long games :( ) I wonder when they added that!
Does it sound right that only certain players would be affected by this?
Yes and no. Yes because that's a (frequent) trend with a lot of bugs (for reasons no one has ever been able to discover, as far as I know); no because you'd expect people with the same hardware / software setup to get the same issues.
Hmmm. So the moral is -- what, primarily use large swarms of strikecraft against them, or ships you don't mind losing, or attempt to distract the owner with diversionary attacks (if the ability can't be automatically triggered at an appropriate time) ?
I believe anti-structure units outrange the blast... and a full HP capitol ship will, generally, survive it. It's not a perfect guage, but looking at Karma can often be informitive about the person posting. For example, Annatar is coming close to / already at the 300 Karma level, and thus can be recognized not just as a local regular like myself, but a near legend on this forum for how helpful and useful he is.
So funny, there is one thread right now from a guy who seems to be well-regarded on the forums, who is claiming that it is the Advent starbasethat is overpowered (and associated defenses), not the Vasari starbase.
Check his math -- if he's not right about how giving shield mitigation allows them to be effectively 3 to 4 times as strong as their counterparts, I'll be shocked. And given that the meteor ability lets the advent base take out anti-structure units at ra
And, oh by the way, IC is also working on the next big project coming after SINS...it will be an RPG, if not mistaken and Blair said in a podcast on GWJ that the gist of the new game was heavily influenced by some of the board games that they are really into...1 specific mention was the game, "War of the Ring."
I knew they were working on another project, but I thought it was an RTS... I know *Stardock* is wanting to do a 'Baldur's Gate style RPG' b

MindsEye, once their 'foreign government' powers are fixed, then yes they can defend the planet. With those broken it is a little hard, but they still represent a powerful force which the enemy will find (very) difficult to suppress.
not entirely true. SOASE had standalone patches up to 1.04 you can find these still spred across the net. after that the next major update was 1.1 stardock then decided to roll back into a DRM scheme dispite the inital hooplaa about stardock going non-DRM for SOASE.
It really is helpful for people to know what they are talking about. Impulse was the planned method of updating Sins from the get go, but alas it wasn't available yet. So t
