Thank you Sins. Double post, deleted.

Again, you prove your stupidity. Radiance by ITSELF stops the Sova. So two cap ships are sitting in your base, neither one doing anything much to the other. Your FLEET doesn't have to be there with it. So please, THINK before you post.
GE, do you want to have a match tonight or tomorrow night? It will be 2v2 or 3v3 depending on who we have on, and it will be one of the fixed maps (which we can agree on at the site).
My record is not 41 wins and 3 losses. I had my first loss yesterday (and, like a man, I surrendered), the other loss on my record is a misclick. That loss yesterday was NOT my fault btw. I killed my side, but sometimes, I can't carry my team enough :( I don't finish most of my games, but my record is closer to 70-1 (the "wins" are only those games where the opponent SURRENDERS, which never happens online). As far as my build was concerned, to those who said he can "
Radiance completely shuts down the Embargo rush. He will NEVER get his embargo off since he warps in with 0 mana (even with 2-3 jumps), and you burn him immediately (which also silences him). Just keep manaburning him and he's a fast useless carrier. As vasari, phase missile assailants will rapidly kill the Sova, or you can burn off his mana with a Kortul, or phase him out with a Marauder. As Tec, either Sova him yourself or gauss him with the Kol. He goes down pretty quickl
For the love of god, stop nerfing Vasari. They're already borderline unplayable as is. A double nerf to RA and Subverters would take them out of the game completely.
Civics themselves are not so expensive if you sit down and think about it, and phase gates more than pay for themselves with every summon. You definitely don't need trade ports to support Enforcer tech, since they are more resource than credit heavy, and if you are good at scouting/taking neutral extractors you should have sufficient resource income.
Wait... hold on.... Somehow, I had a LARGER LRM fleet, than your disciple fleet. How does THAT make sense?
Well, I tricked him! I played under Frogboyfan (with 0-2 record from surrendering to computers). Here's the replay for your viewing pleasure. BTW, I didn't go a counter build. I just scouted him, saw his build, and killed him. Baaaad map too, horrible starting position for me (ice and plasma, no asteroid within 1 jump). http://rapidshare.com/files/101639938/vs_Kruelger.record.html Brief summary for those who are too lazy to d/l and watch at
Well, funny story: Astax found Kruelg trolling for newbs to show off his "strat," so he contacted me for a prison rape session. Of course, when I join, first Kruelg insists that people were minidumping him, and that I may do the same. In response, I say he might be the one doing it. Naturally, he says: "you have no class, we're not playing." I create another smurf account, try to join, and get kicked for being a "smurf." I try again with another one
Vasari just shouldn't go trade ports. Your best bet later is to get high tech units (enforcer/subveter) or Armada. Their trade port tech research is ridiculously expensive, and 4 civics is too painful to do normally.
I didn't say that I build light frigs to kill flak so that I can use carriers. I said that I use light frigs in combination with flaks to kill carrier based armies with no losses.
This whole discussion is stupid. If Vasari goes transporters, they're pretty screwed. Transporters are amazingly slow, and they build strikecraft incredibly slowly. Further, against another Vasari, Sentinels splash the strikecraft and instantly kill huge groups. Sentinels do even better against Advent and Tec strikecraft (particularly Advent due to splash damage). Once the fighters/bombers are taken care of, the light frigates will clean up the carriers. Carriers do
Where to begin... Advent is gimp because Tec won't LRM spam against them. Tec will simply counter whatever Advent builds, while Advent cannot counter light frigates. For instance, if Tec sees disciples go LRM, if Tec sees defense, go light frigates. If Tec sees carriers, go light frigates and kill them. Grab like 4-5 flaks to counter arbitrarily large numbers of carriers. Advent still sucks, I'm just saying blobs of LRMs are counterable, not that LRM spamming is a bad strat
I'm sure many of you are now sick and tired of playing with/against the newbs who quit randomly, are following some horrible build order, and in general suck. In response, I'm setting up an inhouse league based off of the sins IRC channel. This is not an elitist concept. Anyone who wants to improve their game (seriously, not in some joking time-waste manner) can join. I'm sure we'll all learn from each other. Also, we'll have plenty of replays to show to the genera
I have a really hard time figuring out if Kruelgor is a long time troll, or just an idiot. I know from my clanmates' experiences that he and his clan are awful at Sins. That's not really a debateable issue. The real question is whether or not he believes any of the crap he spouts out. It's almost comical the number of inconsistencies and contradictions in every post he makes, as well as the shameless bootlicking to anyone connected with Stardock. But is he actually be
This is a stupid argument. Just compare the investment of upgrading the main planet vs researching + building trade ports. The comparison isn't remotely close. By the time you can even start researching trade ports, your capital will be at full pop, making something like 4 extra income, which is more (much more) than an individual trade port, for a FRACTION of the cost. It's the best damn upgrade in the game. As far as saying nobody's done the math, it's been
Space whale is dead meat vs any good player. It has 1 nuke, which is "ok." Its other skills are .... medium to bad. Its colonize is total crap. Gravity bomb is a bad version of ion bolt. It's also the slowest cap in the game. This is worse than it first appears. The biggest problem is not the fact that it dies (but... it does), but more so that it slows down your fleet movement from one point to another. The carrier is just bad. There are several reasons, but her
You're a complete scrub. Disciples do nothing to LRMs. I don't even know where to begin to describe how wrong and stupid this strategy is. The answer for advent vs tec is simply to make defense vessels, which are far superior in every way in straight up combat. Disciples pop in a volley, massively level up the kortul, which then uses nanites to instagib your entire fleet in 2 seconds. You're. A complete. Scrub. Stop confusing the newbs.
Stop calling me HunterX Who the hell started that. Not. HunterX. See my name. HUNTINGX. I don't want to see HunterX anymore. !!!! I didn't run tests myself, but it appears to me that if Assailants lose supply vs supply, some changes need to made. It's actually really simple. Lower their costs so they win cost for cost. Then, even if they lose supply vs supply, it's alright. However, the key really is that they must beat their counter un
I think the problem here is that newer or very casual players in Sins will confuse the game for some sort of 4x hybrid, when it is clearly a RTS (pure RTS) in every sense of the word. The fact that the head developer believes it's primarily (or at least significantly) a 4x game is very disturbing. There are plenty of very slow paced RTS games. Just because they aren't mainstream like Blizzard RTS, does not make them less of a RTS. Kohan and the Seven Kingdoms series, just to name 2,
Didn't see it (since it was a 1 line post), I'll be happy if he makes those changes :)
Bumping, hopefully frogboy or another dev catches this.
I'm not going to sit here bashing 1.03. It's unconstructive, and despite my personal beliefs, that's not the purpose of this thread. This thread is simply to understand the basis for the changes. I think we can all agree that some of the changes were clearly mistakes and unintended. The accidental change on ally speak, for instance, is incredibly annoying, but clearly a mistake. The devs will fix that asap. This is not an issue. The devs have NOT ye
This argument is getting pretty heated, when 99% of the arguments are either ill-reasoned, or flatout idiotic/wrong etc. Basically, Advent/Vasari have NO trouble beating off LRM spam mid game. Here's why: Malice/Brilliance kills all of them instantly and... Nanites kills all of them in a few seconds as well. On the flip side, LRM spam, if you KNOW it's coming, is pretty easily counterable. Advent can easily counter with defense vessels, and Vasari can
