i think i made a mistake with not going for culture after i took the desert. Though it was a really good and intense game.

_PLZ_ give us an option for the lobby to turn the joined/left messages off. Its really hard to chat/have conversations when the whole chat is spammed by those messages.
u prolly wont be able to watch this with the new patch (i at least got an error).
to quote the infamous eets "first i lick you then ill click you". ;)

yep i also think that this forum could need some subforums. Threads which are just 1 day old get totaly lost so u have a lot of repetitive topics. Plz guys consider to create more subforums.
Frogboy, let me be the first one to say that we really love what you created and the way u are communicating with us like you were one of us "gamers". Thats defiantly unique and simply one of the best things about Sins. So i hope that u dont take any critics too seriously/personal cause most of em complain because they rly like Sins and want it to get even better. With that said i think there wasnt any reason for you to "justify" the changes although its great that even in this case
Will there be a German version?? I hope it can be translated with just replacing some files because I dont want to wait weeks/months to get it. I will buy the English version tomorrow. (my GalCiv 2 is english, too)
we have a project in the making to translate Sins to german
i hate it when reviewers categorize a "steep learning curve" as a negative aspect of a game.
ya as if everyone would only like to play games which can even be played by a 5 year old. Its especially funny cause reviewers always complain about a lack of deepth and innovative ideas and then they make such comments when they get those.
seriously guy, visit a doctor if u feel so sleepy. ;)
you are missing that the ships u call "advanced" have just different strengths. Missle ships for example are not the best choice to fight light frigate, they are better suited to kill caps. Every ship has its role and light frigates are a good unit for a long time and i quite like that. The ships in Sins dont get obosolete just because u research more and more. Though the Heavy Cruiser does replace the Light frigate later in the game but even then they are a cheap and fast to build a
Describing the game as an RTS is pretty misleading though. It's like telling someone that WWW Link is a 4X game.
RTS = "Real Time Strategy" Sins is Real Time and its Strategy so why is it misleading? Just because everyone got used to the same style of RTS over all these years? Is there an unknown rule saying that a RTS isnt allowed to have deeper gam
nice link collection, bump.
"there is no interest in space games" heh... Now some of you publishers finally get a clue and release it in Europe.
Sorry what a stupid kindergarten forum is this here?
at least you are doing ur part to make it a kindergarten forum.
its a pretty old SciFi concept and was used in so many cases and variations so Sins is just another one to use it. Its perfect to create some kind of "map feeling" cause totaly free movement would end in chaos and not much fun. :)
ya Schoddy, learn to read ;) and btw a mention for hosting was not even needed, thx anyways :o . Well cause i dont want to start another thread, here a game of me with Multianna in a 2v2v2 (ya also a few things u can learn watching this ;) ): [link="https://www.sinsofasolarempire.homepage.t-online.de/MultiLeinad.record"]2v2v2 rep Link[/link]
I think it's a perfectly viable strategy... if you don't get caught you can really disrupt you're target's economy, and production capabilities. If you do get caught it's game over for you. I think you can only consider this an exploit if it's impossible to counter, which it isn't.
since when was this game supposed to work with hard counters and why should siege frigs be the only units with the ability to practicly decide a game o
12 siege frigs rushed my capital in the first 30 minutes Why, exactly, were you sitting in your home system for 30 minutes? That's the only problem I'm having with all these arguements. I've yet to have a problem SEE a fleet coming. Are you scouting at all?
boy, play against a decent player and i want to see how scouting helps u preventing siege frig runs. Also i
90% of posts have stated that they should have their health points reduced... also 70% of posts have been by people who bought or recieved the game... Yesterday. Give it a week or so. Not really, like I said this is an old problem with beta. The reason I'm against nerfing the Seize Frigate any further (heh, but looks like I'm the only one here) because again, given the AI OBSSESSIVENESS to Seiz
I wasn't talking in theory. I've done it. I do agree with you that they shoudl be nerfed but I know what I just wote works.
uh seriously Frog, i dont know how u get the idea a few gauss would stop a decent number of siege frigs. I could already show you a few replays where they didnt and this just after 2 days of playing. And tbh IF some turrets could stop them there wouldnt be a need to nerf them, so are
Too low? It goes from 7 seconds charge-up time to 25 seconds..
oh come on Annatar, thats like nothing looking at the travel time of fleets and wont help u much. And for this u want players to spent so much money on em? Better spent that money on planetary defence. :/
AI takes over if you quit/disconnect.
thats another problem cause this means u have to finish off all the AI's. If just AI's are left it should be an auto win.
They were a nice tactical element, until someone would fill a chokepoint with one or two and the rest defenses and his fleet, and then hide 4-5 Novaliths behind it.
erm thats hardly an argument against em. First, this goes always two ways, everyone can do it. Second, seriously if ur enemy can build a few novaliths u have done something wrong. Third, what stops u from taking em out? Fourth, no phase jump disruption
im a experienced/good player and tbh siege frigs are currently really to strong. You can run with em into huge planetry defences and still kill enemy planets. It shouldnt work this way. Siege frigs should be paper tigers. Really strong against planets but with low HP and weak armor so that any opposing force can "easily" kill em. The way its currently is defiantly not the best and pretty cheesy.
