@wraith Well I think formations adds a lot to a game. and looks darn cool to and if you dont want to use formations, then simply dont use them.
Visually I think the nuke explosions are a little big at the moment. Anyway scaring and a color change in the atmosphere would be great additions. yeah, that would be awsome! maybe also that instead of bombing a planet, you could send down troops to the planet and kill of the people but saves most of the infrastructure. each planet could have a certain time value/level that it would take to conquer
I also thinks that you shouldnt be able to colonize a planet right after a bombardment. Maybe a planet gets a quarantine-time that ticks down after you finished your bombing.

sounds very interesting! although I am a big fan of LOTS of info on stats, maybe these stats should be accessed from an extra menu, and have just a few of them when you click on a ship to get that info box.
again, a very interesting and great post Comassion. Although all these tactics and such (outrunning and all that) needs a much larger gravity well or maybe an extra area outside the gravwell.
I must say I agree with frogboy on this BUT, Comassion, Your post is just wonderfull! all with the critical hits and that, PERFECT!! and also i think the ships speed should be decreased a bit.
I was just thinking that maybe the time and cost of a tech should be in proportion to your fleet size. example: If you have many scout frigates, the tech "Refined Laser" should take longer time to finish, because the more ships you have, the more time and cost it would take for your empire to upgrade all of those ships.
well you DO loose a portion of Anitmatter already. but now you CAN jump even if you have close to zero antimatter.
or maybe that phase jump DEMANDS antimatter to work. as it is now, you will loose a portion of your anitmatter, but can still jump if you have 0 AM. that would make a double jump possible but then you have to wait. and maybe let players build jump gates between their worlds that saves the ships AM, and a defensive fleet could move around pretty easy.
well hope thay will add more of the game when it goes to Beta 2

I really like the idea of having the shieldgenerator on the planet instead of the present thing. Also I think that lvl 3 is a bit too low to have as max lvl for a planet. make it to lvl 10, and maybe lower the boost the planet gets for each upgrade.

it seems my last post vanished I dont find the combat to be very interesting. One thing may be that the ships doesnt have any obvius role to play. In Sword of the Stars, each ship (depending on which weapon you put on) had a very obvius role in the fleet. A giant dreadnaught with a lot of hull-mounted beams is better for taking out slow targets than fast small ones due to the long recharge time, sins almost only has the flak ship. in Sins, all ships has about the same weapons, just
Good points maathyas and for me I think the game has a bit high speed. It takes very little time to replace a lost fleet.
I feel you are right Dannyboy1121, I would also like the game´s speed to be alot slower. This IS suppose to be an Epic game
I think the bigger ships in sins should have more turrets on them, BUT placed on each side. so you will have to manouvre around and line up your guns. as it is now, I think the capitol ships has pretty few weapons for such a large ship. and it could have its more heavy weapons mounted to the front, and those should only be able to fire straight ahead, like the laser attack now can shoot almost 90* from its turret. It should only be able to shoot straight ahead.
3.) Some of the ship AIs need to be improved: my support cruises and my carriers LOVE to charge in ahead of everyone else in the fleet. Err, they are support ships and should be staying back. My Battleships on the other hand, love engaging froma distance... Dreadnoughts btw, LOVE firing on planets auto, even when there is a Shield gen up. Altho this could be fixed with the Strategic Targets request up top. Hehe Perhaps switch the two AI routines? lol<
hehe nice to see another Conquest: Frontier Wars fan here wouldnt it be cool if they made the larger ships begin to tip over as they do in CFW?
I would like a vocal warning ("We lost a Frigate Sir!" or something like that) when you loose a ship, maybe not fighters and bombers.
