I believe any experience values from kills made by fleet elements go to capital ships within that fleet... a HUGE benefit...
Oh wow. I didn't know that. Changes everything. Even if I have to micro retreating ships, that makes it worth it. And ya I told the cap ship to jump, and the entire fleet did.
OGGleep
Systems of War is the name. Just jumped out and checked. And yep its the one you described. Was wrong bout the amount of players tho its 4. I assume the pirates are in the middle? Safe to assume I'm safe as long as I don't go into the middle? And thanks for giving a list of the ones that don't have em.
Is there any reason not to have a trade station in every single sector/planet/asteroid?
There is one major drawback thats set by default. Tried to pull back one cap ship, was winning the fight but wanted to save the cap ship. Whole fleet jumped leaving a large number of support craft facing a swarm of angry ships. Sucked.
I'm playing the medium 5 player map, with 50 planets, 5 stars. Forget the name. I made a bid once the first pirate attack warning came and won. But there was never a sword next to the AI's name. I don't want to keep wasting money if there are no pirates. Thanks.
I screwed up making an account with my serial key. Not knowing that there wasn't room for the dashes, I went to hit delete and brushed enter on the way and it accepted my account. I log in and I get to a blank players window and the only thing I can press is "Add Player". I assume something is wrong. What should I see? And how do I fix it?
I tend to dig humans in any sci-fi type setting. I own probably about $5k in Space Marines and Imperial Guard and haven't played a game with em. Prefer Assult Rifle to laser rifle in FPSs, rather play Rainbow 6 then Halo. As such, I am sticking with TEC. Good or Bad.
Do you basically have two shots to find something? Are they equal? IE: If you strike out the first time, does the 2nd chance to find something come at a penalty.
It varies. If they have a ton of corvettes imho they have to be delt with. I let the bombers and caps deal with enemy caps. As long as you are on equal or better terms, the bombers should help tip the balance. Especially if you micro a durnov (TEC). The shield regen can really help. KoI's are nice because they can also lend in the fight with lighter craft while still dealing with the enemy caps. While this is happening your other craft deal with the corvettes. The enemy likes to go afte
Deserved. Hopefully some major publications will also see the light. Seen a lot of games get bumps after PCGamer gives a good review.
Are they on asteriods too? Haven't found crap on Asteroids but I always look.
I doubt it has anything to do with my PC per-se. But just incase - Core 2 Duo 2.66gz 2 GB RAM 8800 GTX Creative SB X-FI 150 GB SATA 500 GB SATA The hotfix is for vista. It was supposed to address memory issues. This has happened in several games and from what I got in other tech forums it has to do with vista and how it handles memory. One game had a fix, command line switch I believe.
Pretty much everyone I've ever talked to agreed that WiC was a RTT. Yes there were resources, but it was to buy troops. And Mtn Man - scroll up. I'll quote it incase your lazy - Sins of a Solar Empire, Real Time Strategy. Unrivaled scale. I don't know anyone who still reads the box. Though, I also don't know anyone who doesn't atleast read a preview or two before buying a game. I probably read half a dozen - minimum.
I am getting the "Out of Memory, close application" error. Just happened, was at the tail end of a 1 on 1 game, and it started popping up. Every 3-5 minutes I'd dump to desktop and get the error. 1st time it closed the game. Reloaded the Auto-save and was lucky that every time after that I was able to cancle out and keep playing. This is not new for me. Several games do this. I heard it was something about vista not being able to use Ram (video?) properly. Some games had workarounds...any
There has to be some techs that give you more bang for your buck, and can help jump start the game or give an edge in combat.
read this:https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/?aid=175610#1448203 If Sins was desinged as a Deep RtS in space....all pro RTS suggestions/complaints would be valid. It wasn't. Set out at the get go to be a RT4X. As such, different standards/expectations should be set......4x standards/expectations. The OP's post would be perfectly valid if it were a RTS. I've been playing RTS's since Dune, and competed as early as Warcraft. RTS is a cluttered field and any RTS is compared to a
Being a new player, and forum participant I can only assume that craig is part of the dev team or at least took part in the process. That is awesome to have that kind of feedback. Thats basically what I was alluding to. I didn't want to say it outright as I felt it would become a debate of who is wrong or who is right, instead opting for peoples opinions. Much like Shock Force is a real time wargame (pretty much all RTT's are), this is a RT4X. It will take a few of the franchises switch
Curious how I came off as lacking patience. Was trying to open a dialog. And does a real time game with strategy automatically make it an RTS? Logically it would, but the RTS is a defined genre, with more then just strategy and the gameplay being real time. Obviously those are key pre-reqs. RTT's were dubbed for a long time as RTSs. Basically any Real time game with strategy/tactical elements is automatically assumed to be a RTS. I don't know if thats true anymore.
How long has your system been up? Do you do malware/spyware/virus sweeps on a regular basis with multiple apps? Have you done ANYTHING within the last week to change your system settings or have you installed anything other than SiNs. This includes pressing "ok" on websites. Do you have auto-update enabled? My first guess would be a system issue. Second guess would be some type of hardware failure. The absolute last place I'd assume the problem to be would be the game. Key fact is you c
Getting all my posts in before I play..... I get into a pattern, find somethig that works and just repeat it over and over. What works is the KoI and the Mxxxx - Long Range anti plant Cap ship. The reason is I don't know how to utilize the other cap ships. Can someone break down the TEC Cap ships and explain how best to use them and the context in which they should be deployed. Thanks.
Must be missing the edit option. Final note.... this is not uncommmon. RTS players get ruffled playing RTTs expecting RTSs. Open for discussion/feedback.
This likely will have no impact on any future posts, but I am a forum nut and have seen time and time again people talking about how this is so far off the RTS reservation, things need to be changed. Every preview I have read stated that this was a 4X game in Real time. If that is true its a subgenre of 4X. The game feels like a complicated homeworld, which ...again if true adds to the confusion. So, what is this? And if it is indeed a RT 4x game, is there anyway to stem the ti
This should be in the strat section, but until people see there is one I'm putting stuff in here. Mods feel free to move it. What are your early research priorities besides the obvious Volcanic/Ice Planet Civ techs. Starting research is always cost vs gain and normally also dictates your strats. I have no idea what all but the most obvious techs really do. Hopefully some BT's with multiple games can chime in.
This doesn't sound like a game issue at all.
First thing you do - Click your planet, click on logistics, build a cap ship yard Second thing you do - que a cap ship Proceed to do what you normally do. Makes taking down tough neutral star systems a lot easier.
