This might explain why in the middle of a Huge 10-way FFA, played offline, Sins suddenly ground to a 1-FPM crawl.I reloaded from my save game, five minutes prior to the problem. Same thing happened.I tried again. This time I made sure I was zoomed out all the way, to ensure the major battle I was about to engage in didn't overwhelm my overclocked 8600 GTS.Same thing. I checked my active processes. Bingo! Sins was using well over a gig of RAM, more than half of my CPU cycles, and I'd someh

I build a few defences on border planets if my scouts have seen any enemies in the area. I'll also put a few defences up near pirate raid points if I'm going to lose a bid. Anyway, leaving these defences up gives me a lot of depth when the inevitable attempts come to raid my back areas. It's amusing watching enemy heavy cruisers going deeper and deeper into my empire getting shot to pieces by bomber squadrons. I think they keep thinking they'll find an end to it. Of co

When I play, I use Marzas instead of Siege frigates, in order to make it effective I'll purchase it to level 3, and put the two points into raze planet. First Capital ship i'll level up through pirates.

I'm just going to point out that while firepower upgrades are not such a big deal at the start, the health+healing rate hit points let you micro out ships much more easily when you're power expanding your empire in the early game.

The only reason I build caps beyond the first is in order to siege planets, because they're so much better than seige frigates in this version. So for me its Akkan, then multiple Marzas. (with crap loads of frigates)

When somebody has returning Armada up, the thing to do is build your bomb shelters to max on all your planets. Alt Tab out and watch tv or something, because you've already lost and you may as well make him bomb your planets for the next two hours.

I can't remember the last time in a game when somebody searched or found an artifact. I'm throwing out the question to the community here. Do you think artifacts/bonuses are too unreliable to be cost effective? or do they need a buff in some other way?

the sad thing is the amount of effort and trash talking that happened over this issue. Kruelgore should have simply. A. Played the game and lost. or B. Listened to people who pointed out actual file contents and shut up. Instead it was a bunch of grandstanding, wild claims about his own competancy, exagerated claims of success. Jesus the guy sounded like Rumsfeld talking about Iraq.

I have to give credit to a guy I played against recently, it was a 4 player FFA, the other two players had been eliminated, the opponent he had been primarily faced with was a complete chump, Anyway, I ended up with two thirds of the planets, but he got RA up, so we fought, and when it was was over (I was first in research and all economics but what does that matter?) he offered to ally so we both got the win, because he felt he didn't deserve it. I'm not experienced enough to
Perhaps it's simply because I'm able to produce so many Disciples in the beginning of the game that LRM spammers simply can't inflict a critical blow to my empire.I can't explain the so-called "mechanics" behind it, but I do know that I fear LRM spammers zilch because of the Disciple (and because of patch 1.03)
So is this an admission that in 1 vs 1 your strategy doesn't work? Because it sure looks like it. Otherwise whats the problem?
I knew you would back out. I tell you what. Here's what I will do. The next time I stop an LRM spammer I will save the replay and show it to you.
Actually this is you making a serries of bizzare rules and then claiming he is backing out, how many LRM spammers do you know not colonize an asteroid? The challenge was he is going to beat you down with LRMs in a 1 vs 1 match, you're the one backing out, and you're not fooling anybody. Ehhh I kno
Again, what I said was... "if he truly finds my guide Networking and SINS "confusing" then he really has no business hosting multiplayer games" because if he can't understand that straight-forward (read it yourself, my 12yr old with a mind to try to understand it could) guide he won't be able to correct his setup for hosting. Since when is having to learn how to port-forward like having to learn how to repair a car? When you're port-forwarding you're not repairing something...
<br/

I'm pretty sure that owning a system, and purchasing the game, does in fact grant you the "right" to play multiplayer games unless you're doing something that breaks the terms of agreement with the company. Monk, you're seriously giving somebody a hard time because they lack network know how? Your analogy about car use is incorrect, it's more along the lines of expecting anyone who knows how to drive a car, to be able to do mechanical repairs. Anyway, I appreciate your efforts
