I updated last night and I noticed that all my save files are crashing now. I am going to start a new game to see if this resolves anything later today,
DarkSide73
Agreed, the problem was in the end game - they hod gotten so strong that I decided to just nuke their planets then bother to engage them
anything beats pirates with 11,000 armor gauss cannons that fire for 50 points. LOL my full fleet hard a hard time even denting them - we had to jump em. Hey -
the i7 with an ati 260 seems to run real nice for me. Demigod in full tilt. sins though will slow down on large maps about mid to late game, but that has been the case for some time with sins, regardless of the rig
I love the tec, best of all the end game weapon is the best of all 3 races. The novalith canon - removes planets period. If you can manage to get 3 or 4 of them up and running - all you have to do is defend your position, the cannons can eliminate a planet in 2 shots. do 4 of them will be reducing planets every couple of minutes. Forces your foe to focus on rebuilding and makes him lose money. sweet
I knew that I could not tolerate their incursions into Trader space any longer, so I did the unthinkable. I ordered that 2 novalith cannons be used to eradicate the menace once and for all. We nuke their base. I then decided to send in a clean up force to rid the last of them and take the base for my own. I sent a small advance scout force to assess the remaining threat and they were greeted with defense canons that could do 57 points of damage per shot and had 11500 armor
Thanks Blair you rock
I just played a game of Diplomacy with the latest versions and noticed this bug. I got the proper relationship upgrades with the Advant, but when I offered the Supply pact (I was the human force) they accepted it and I saw my supply point go up by 1000 points but I was not able to add any additional ships. In the demo this worked, which is why I knew to choose the humans, so I don't know why it does not work now :(, shame. I wanted to finish crushing my foes.
While I agree that having 1 of your planets nova=ed does not mean anything if you have 30 planets, I can assure you that have 4-5 planets nuked at the same time certainly does :). The fact is, on a large map if I can manage to get 3 or 4 of these bad boys up, I usually have them way behind my lines once they start firing you can almost see the clock ticking on the life expectancy of your fleet. Unless you make a mad dash and take them out, you are going to be without resourc
There is a snow storm on the east coast this week end - I am sooooo playing sins
Happy to, can you tell me the names or locations of the save files, cant seem to find it.
In practice the envoy is only effective in the beginning of the game since it has to locate the enemy homeworld to open communication. Once you have the espionage upgrade these ships are easily killed way before they find your homeworld.
This is an issue that we used to see a lot in the 1st sins betas (the good old days ;)). On the large map I am currently playing I attacked the pirate base and found that they had moved many miles down the Y axis. they actually moved so far on the axis that my fighters and bombers could not reach them. I can send in a copy of my game file later, just remind me what files I need to send.
I have some additions - I say the pirates currently only use human weapons. but in true pirate fashion their fleet should be an amalgamation of all the the factions. The should have a little of all the tech trees or some hybrid thereof - to make them effective against other types. Now while I would not think that they should have a starbase - I think they should have better defenses.
Hey guys during the beta and after I had lots of crash and opimization problems. Once the full entrenchment release came I was still having issues so I removed one of the ram cards from my machine and boom - no more problems. Make sure you ram is all the same speed - might save you a big headache
Playing though Entrechment ( I love this game) and then boom - dumb file + crash- I don't like that much :(. I will send the dumb over since this is beta 3 - guys please get this bug outta here. I can't enjoy a full game like this. I have 3.5 gb of ram and a 500+ ram video card - so it's not fair - I guess I have to go back to regular sins until this is ironed out.
Early on you just need to fully load your starbases with upgraded guns, armor and fighters. the TEC starbase can have 14 fighters docked with 13000 health and 5000 shields. A well defended planet with gause platforms and hanger support shoulf be ablr to deal with a few Ogrov even if you dont micro.
I am still experiencing crashes at the highest levels of visual fidelity. After I installed the newesr beta last night I cranks everything up to the max. I recently upgraded my system to 3.5gb of ram and 512 of video memory and still about 30 minutes in the game blows up. I've sent dumbs related to this issue before and will more than happy do so again if needed. To your credit version one became very stable and did not have memory issues though it did tend to stutter
I think that is a great Idea. I dissagree that it should take a long time. Say for instance you had a startbase that was on a frontier planet so at 1st you upgraded with all defensive powers - later on in the game this planet is going to be amid tier planet and is well defended by other other lying planets and phase destabelizers. now you should be able to get some of those armaments off there and make it a trade station . I've been feeling the same way about tha
vERY WELL DONE. i TOTALLY agree on all your points.
with the way the starbases are now an actual problem for most fleets I actually like the structure frigates packing more heat. Guess you have to get rid of them fast or at the least have some heavy defenses in place to keep your starbases alive now.
I played against the Vasari and when I attacked the fully upgraded base blasted a deep hole in my fleet I had to retreat and come back with many more ships. sweeeet :)
i just sent a dump in also - im sad now
This looks goody goody, having the mines in grouped spaces hopefully will reduce the mine spam and be less of a burden on the CPU - and wow that modification to the starbases should be good. Starbases should be able to get a lot more kills now.
If cost is not an object - I would go with a san setup. I used to have lots of external drives from all makers and models but I noticed that I was replacing these drives a lot. I purchased a couple of Drobo's last year and I could not be happier. For the Cost of the case, you can add drives of any speed and brand as you choose to grow the system. You also don't have to worry about losing data in the long run. Check it out.
