Quoting Itharus, reply 17Titans? I'm assuming honestly that they are just the offensive version of a Star-Base. I don't think they're gonna be much - if at all - more powerful than a fully upgraded Star-Base. If a Star-Base is a nut, a Titan will probably just be the nutcracker. *laughs hysterically*
LMAO or not!!!
this is good, especially the reduction in envoy cost - in a hard fought match - it was getting too costly to have 100 of these envoys running around instead of frigates that could fight.
sounds really sweeet
This crashed on load - so I can't even try it ;(
Your key point is right here: 6. Sins is too slow in multiplayer. If multiplayer continues to move at a glacial pace, less reason to buy a legitimate copy of the game For all of us who love the work that these guys do and have supported this game since it's early betas many years ago, do us a favor and either buy the game or stop playing it. If you do continue to play it, then by all means then send in your questions and comments to the devs- they do l
ive never played multi -but these folks sound awesome
this mod crashes everytime I try to load it - which is a shame, since I really am dieing to try it out
We've gone through a lot of back and forth with the pirates. I think they should not totally nerf them - I think they are a good addition and make the early game crazy. Sure you can sometimes get steam rolled because the pirates and the enemy are pounding yding you - but its fun once you defend and build to the point that you can go in and clear the pirate bases ( i love that part of the game)
Long story short - the optimization has been very good. Playing the game on full tilt large map - lots of enemies and it runs smoothly even in the dreaded late game.
I have the retail copy - pretty box but no one buys pc games this way anymore. Stores like Gamespot are continuing to decrease the shelves alloted for PC games for this reason. I think they should just include the box art and inlay as a PDF file for us to ooohand ahh over. That's my take
no - Rebellion is a seperate game - I believe it has all the features ofthe other games, but you cannot play each seperately if that is what you are asking.
Fro 30 bucs who gives a FRACK. I pre-ordered this thing right on the spot
SINS DONT NEED A CAMPAIGN - I HAVE THE SAME CAMPAIGN SCENARIO EVERYTIME I PLAY. THE DEFILERS (ALL OTHER RACES) HAVE LAID CLAIM TO WORLDS THAT SHOULD RIGHTFULLY UNDER MY GRIP. ITS MY JOB AS RULER OF THE COMBINED FORCES OF THE DARKSIDE TO SUBJEGATE THESE UPSTARTS BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY AND CLAIM THE UNIVERSE AS MY OWN. Seriously - that is the only mission I need. Nothing beats watching the map slowly become my color and hearing the cries of my en
LAst night I started a game and cranked all of the settings to max, picked random multi-stat large map and set all the sliders to fast. The result so fas has been a rousing success. I periodically checked the ram usage and sure enough the game was maintaining a steady 1.3 gb throughout. I even cranked the speed to 4 after I gained some strength and left the game running for 4 hours. No crashes reported and the bigger sweetness was the game was not majorly lagging at mi
sweet heavens. thank the fracking gods- nyou guys rule
sweeeeeettt
This engine is fine - its still very fluid and can create wonderful viisuals. the Only issues are the 2gb ceiling and the way the game begins to chug during the late game. I would think that adding true mutithread and core support would reduce the lagging. I think Frogboy could assist on that - Elemental had very bad late game move lagging and has been totally smoothed out. Sure that is not real time , but the principle should be the same.
I just happened to come here today - I've purchased just about every 4x space strategy game - that was rated well and none of them come close to sins - yes LAWD!. Fix the memory issue and then please please speak to the family over at Elemental to get an assist on implementing multi -threading and multi-core. But the memory alone - oh man on man - happy birthday to me - guys this IS my favorite game.
I've done it on 3 machines. Just go to their website first and make sure you download all of the drivers for your machine. Most of them can be found here on your machine C:\SwSetup After having the drivers - doing a clean install should do the trick - anything that does not load properly use the drivers to fix.
I agree mostly on this post as a long time gamer, clocking my first game time in 1980, but I think your annoyance is directed at the wrong place. I find that Stardock and Ironclad have done a wonderful job of answering the demands of the community. while I would agree that Ironclad could have given Diplomacy more love, as a person who was on all the betas since the beginning, I know where the game started and where it is today. Sure there is still that 2GB memory leak but f
"The problem is that it's actually quite challenging to create goals and decompose them into actions and it's particularly difficult to do it in a way that can be unexpected or novel. Computers typically win out in micromanagement (they never get bored or tired), but where humans tend to beat them is in understanding the patterns in the way they play and outsmarting their consistent behaviors. You can try to resolve this by injecting an element of randomness, but this can also lea
If any game had written on the back of the box: NOT A CONSOLE PORT it would vastly increase my buying chances It's not just for PCs. PS3 games that arent Xbox ports tend to be better too. I think people understand that games built specifically with its platform in mind tend to be better because of it, and its definitely worth making sure they know this is the case. [/quot
Pirates are great - in the early game you can use them as level farms for your cap ships. I like to make sure that I expand in such a way hat it limits the number of planets they will attack. That way you know where o set you defenses.
Itharus - the issue with supply pact is that once you got it it wouldn't let you add more ships
