I'm currently playing Age of Wonders : Shadow Magic (2004), version 1.4 : no way I'm going back to the primitive graphics of MoM. AoW : SM is the best remake/update of MoM you can find. I hope that the designers of Elemental have had a look at it. AoW : SM is a great example to illustrate that you don't need 3D graphics à la HM&M 5 to deliver an exquisite & challenging fantasy-strategy

I've played a huge lot of HM&M 3, with all its expansions : I then tend to agree with you .. but I played too much of it. I'm burned out in what concerns H3. HM&M 5 is supposed to be inspired by H3. It is so gorgeous, if your have the videocard & the monitor to display it in its beautiful glory, that I'll play Tribes of the East again, anytime ... but I can't go back to H3. I agree with you, but I'm finished with that game : H5 spoiled me forever with its
What about Age of Wonders 2 (June 2002), and its stand-alone expansion AoW : Shadow Magic (July 2003) ? Some have said that those two games were the closest remakes/updates of Master of Magic (1995). Waiting for the Elemental beta to open, I'm currently playing Shadow Magic , with the fan-made patch 1.4 !
What happened was , they had a perfectly workable deal, but the Atari lawyers killed it by insisting that any and all work done by SD on the project would be the property of Atari. I'm not angry ... but I've noticed the same type of ethical issue with the new game Sacred 2 . I recently opened Impulse, and went to browse in its store. The game Sacred 2 was recently added, for USA & Canada. At first, I felt joy because Gamer's Gate does not offer the game for North America. But then ... I noticed that Impulse's Sacred 2 was protected by ... SecuRom ... of the act
In your Heroes of Might and Magic V - Tribes of the East installation folder, be sure to create a folder named Maps (next to the Music folder) : all downloaded maps that are not campaigns must be placed there to show up in the "show multiplayer maps" list, in the scenario selection screen. The Maps folder might not have been created when installing the game : create it yourself. If you use the HM&a
Every Elf is a Dark Elf ?
NO, of course not ! I simply meant that if they decide that the "Fallen" group is to be some kind of melting-pot of "evil" & "chaotic" species, such as Orcs & Demons, they should not put Wood Elves or High Elves in there. The Dark Elf species is always considered an evil, « fallen » type of Elves.

What about the Elves ?! You cannot have a fantasy game without Elves ! I suppose they'll be dumped into the "Fallen" melting-pot, next to the [e digicons]}:)[/e] and the [e digicons]:troll:[/e] : what a sacrilege ! At least, then, make them up as Dark Elves.
Grrr ... I was very happy with my stable 4-year old, 32-bit, Windows XP system ... Now, I'll have to pressure my dad for another gaming comp with a 64-bit Vista OS.
I would buy Heroes of Might & Magic V : Tribes of the East (released in October 2007). It is a stand-alone expansion which has a lot of content and bug fixes (in relation to the May 2006 release of the original H5). Last August, it was patched to version 3.1. Caveat emptor # 1 > The multiplayer still is so unstable & slow that it rarely works for a long time. Caveat emptor # 2 > It's not guaranteed to function on a lap
What is forum "trolling" anyway ? In my experience, on half a dozen gaming forums, the negative label "troll" is too often cast by people who disagree with another poster's ideas or style of presentation of his ideas. Also, you can be branded a "troll" if you go off-topic on a thread ... but that is such a frequent habit, even done by venerable forum veterans, that you only risk being then called a "troll" if your style of going off-topic is not appr
If so, what could be the version # of Entrenchment : 1.1# or 1.2 or 2.0 ? I won't update to 1.1, because I'll be getting Entrenchment when it will be released (after its beta), and I suppose that the micro-expansion will of course inlcude all of 1.1's features. (I'm currently playing the Demigod beta. Sins has been put on hold until Entrenchment comes out.)

Log in your Stardock/Impulse account, select the installed game, and press its corresponding uninstallation button (located to the right, at the bottom of the Impulse page).
The game, when it was released, was "incomplete" from a normal point of view ... but it was a high-quality game nonetheless. The IC/SD synergy was (and still is) a great success, especially if you consider their very rare customer-care approach. Why not, then, invest more money in such a rare, high-quality gaming series ?

The lack of an intrusive & disruptive DRM programme in all the products that Stardock sells is a big ++ ! The only reason I did not purchase Spore was the rootkit-type version of SecuRom it uses. I could have lived with the 3-activations limit, but not with a semi-malware inserted deep into my machine's C:\ drive.<
I found it borrrrring, compared to Heroes of Might & Magic 5 , or the recent King's Bounty : The Legend . The "tactical model" is rather simplistic. But as a « [e digicons][/e] & pretzel » game, I guess it's OK.
I entertain exxxtremely high hopes ! If StarDock invests as much time & effort refining its A.I. code as it did for GalCiv 1 & GalCiv 2, we're in for a major challenge. Nival Interactive (Russians!) are bargain-basement amateurs compared to StarDock A.I. designers & programmers. [e digicons]:borg:[/e]
I'm currently playing at Heroes of Might & Magic 5 : Tribes of the East , version 3.1 ... but I just can't wait for StarDock's first foray into the TB-fantasy-strategy genre. It's my favourite type of game. The Beta will be my biggest gaming event of 2009. I don't mind if its visual quality doesn't match the level of HM&M 5 or King's Bounty : The Legend . StarDock is all about top-quality A.I. The crucial problem with HM&M 5, even in i
