they took it out as with parallel research you could blaze through the tech tree very quickly and people complained about it being to fast so that was taken out to slow research down a bit.

Just to drop another completely different gameplay suggestions then whats curretnly being debated on. I think that trader ships should probably run when a battle takes place at a system as shoud refinery ships. Trade ships to and from that particular planet should be halted or severly cut in size. This would simulate that only the most daring people would dare get blown up for money and also it would add the strategic possibility of cutting off your opponents trade route by attacking a certain p

I agree with schem about late game eventually it just starts to feel like a grinder where i through random chunks of stuff at the opponent and hope he doesn't have more. whereas early game can't get enough of it.
HHm my ships always tend to avoid each other and other things i mean i've had battles that take place way above the planet as all the ships meet at the planet but to avoid collision they go way up it kinda looks cool.
Yea that's the tricky part as you don't want them to shoot only bombs because people will complain about bombers not being shot down. Maybe it could be any bombs being shot at the ship would move up to target priority one as i know i would rather shoot a bomb coming at me than the bomber that launched it, especially since i could just shoot the bomber down later.
Yea chip those are the details i didn't go into about my ideas becuase i thought it was too long already but yes those are some things that would have to go along with the ideas. also thanks for the feedback.
Yea i was playing the game really late last night and i remembered how some people were complaining about not enough tactical diversity so i came up with those ideas to make combat more involving. So it's good to know that some of it's original.

Now before you say they are fun enough i agree however these are just some of my ideas that could be used to make them a little more involved possibly. I just want to to see what everyone else thought of these ideas that i just came up with so here you go. 1. Make it possible for ships auto cannons and lasers to miss maybe not that big a percent chance but enough to make the targeting ability a little more valuable. 2. Make bombs released from bombers and possible from the other shi
