I say for the full 3-D movement in battles to actually have an effect, there would need to be 3-D placement of buildings. As it is now, the attacking ships stay on the base plane to attack the buildings, so the defending ships stay on the base plane to attack the attacking ships. Exactly. Sure we can move up and down, but as it is now we have no reason to. I feel a lot like Wraith does. I think the

... My objection to hefty requirements to form a clan is this: There are many clans that already exist independent of the game. Take Honor Guard for instance. We are already a clan. Have been since 2002. To have the game tell us that we aren't a clan because we haven't jumped through all the hoops yet is just silly. That said, I do support the idea of having to meet certain requirements before being allowed to participate in the clan ladder for reasons that have been menti

8. Ships seem to travel at normal phase jump speeds until after a point, where upon they speed up nearly 500%. Not sure if this was intended, but they speed up and slow down when exiting/entering systems, respectively. Culture lines do this as well. As soon as it hits the system boundary and enters the area between stars they speed up a lot. I figured this was intentional so that it doesn't take forever and a day to get to the next star.

You can simply select the fleet, then shift-click or shift-bandbox to deselect the ships you want to remove, then reassign the remaining ships to the same fleet number. Then you have to re-select the ships that you unselected in order to assign them to a new group (after all, you are probably taking them out of one group in order to put them into another). I'd call that cumbersome.

I remember a while back someone posted that when they were in orbit around a star the fighters wouldn't show up... but I don't recall it being mentioned as an intermittent problem in other areas of the map.

The position of limited jumps is reasonable however one jump could be to another star or some other very long distance. Moreover what if the mothership has to move away from its current position after the fighters have went to another location? Good points. To address the first one, I would ask what tactical advantage their would be in jumping them to another star? I have only ever fought one battle around a star and you could barely even call

Perhaps their range could be limited to only one jump away from their host ship/hanger. This is easily justifiable by saying that due to their small size, their range is limited both in terms of fuel and life support for the crew (or single pilot as the case may be). This would limit them to the supporting role that fighters currently have by not giving them independence from their host while still allowing for some of the tactics that the others have mentioned. Annoyed that y

Once you get it to level 6 and get the "missile barrage" ability it can be pretty nasty. That basically sends a barrage of missiles at every hostile target in range simultaneously.

He means set the game mode to "last flagship standing." When you kill an enemy flagship, their empire is defeated so all of their ships/structures blow up and their planets become neutral. Thus, their colony has been "wiped out" without you actually bombarding it. So the population and infrastructure remain undamaged. But, the problem comes when the planet's level goes back to 1 but the infrastructure and population remain at their max from the level it was at before.

While loading a saved game, I started fiddling around with the mouse, right clicking and dragging. I heard some acknowledgments of orders (it would say "deploying" and other stuff like that) and when it came out of the loading screen, my fleet was moving to another planet. Didn't really cause any problems besides the fact that I blindly sent my fleet to a hostile planet but thought you should know about it. Who knows what wacky stuff is possible if you issue orders while the game is onl

It would be nice to have a "Planets of Interest" section at the top of your Empire Tree. As the game progresses, many of your planets/asteroids end up far behind the front lines and nothing ever happens around them. They just take up space on your screen. I would like to be able to specify some planets to show up on the top of the list. I know that you can already add planets to groups but this would be a little different. In the groups view, you don't get to see the planet's pips and c

Yea, to elaborate on what Xavior said about the Vasari stealth stuff, a while back when they has some ship stats on the website, one of the abilities listed for the Vasari scout had something to do with masking phase space signatures so that the enemy couldn't see you comming. I don't know if that is still in the game or if it has taken a different form but we DO know that it is something that they have been thinking about.

When I said fixed amount of time what I meant was that the war would last for a given number of days. For example it could last one week. Whichever clan has more wins against the other at the end of the 7 days would be the winner - not that each match would be limited to an hour or something.

I'd choose the computer. Because while I do like to hang out with my friends in person, it is very fun to shoot them up online in BF2 as well. Besides, since I moved to college I only get to see my friends in person once a week if I'm lucky since they all live 60 miles away. So a month would only amount to like 3 visits.

Support for clan wars. There could be different win conditions: Predetermined number of matches, most wins takes the war. Set number of "lives." This would be the same as the first one except that in a 4v4 the losing team would lose 4 "lives," one for each player killed. Fixed amount of time. Best win/loss ratio wins. Allow alliances between clans for wars.

Happened again today on 0.62[b].010. Same scenario: colonized a contested planet, queued up several hangers, began queuing up their bombers when the planed was bombed to death. I'm not sure if actually clicking the button caused it or if it was just because it was open when I lost the planet. I was clicking like mad so I'm not sure if the actual click was what got it or not.
