if you get lucky and the forum search works, you can find a BUNCH of threads about this (they all got turned down) Mmm... that means there is a search button ? HERESY!
In his defense, it is almost worthless.

For the record, I understood Spartan's original statement just fine :P
So was Hitler. Being person of the year doesn't necessarily mean that they like you... just that you are very influential - and nobody can deny that, for better or worse, these were very influential people.
I've also tried the most recent version of the beta in wine. I disabled the intro movies through the text file to prevent them from being an issue. I also have wine set to emulate a virtual desktop which helps out quite a bit with the game resizing the desktop (so that if it breaks you at least still have use of your screen to kill the process). First time I fired it up it died pretty much immediately with some sound error so I disabled the OSS drivers and had it use ALSA instead. This
Other players should be able to see it. You'll notice that you already see the names of other players ships in the current build (albeit that it is just the default names it gives them).
Because the news threads do that, not the dev diary threads :P
Sorry to hear that man.
I like it... the only thing to worry about is the background being so busy that it is difficult to see what's on the menu in front of it.
*shurgs* I've seen other programs that use that. Takes some getting used to I'll admit but once you do you wonder how you ever lived without it.
well..its a technicality that just requires a bit of thought to get by. Button+drag bandbox to exclude fighters and bombers... That works, add functionality instead of removing it. I hope theres time for ya
Another possibili
As for Wedge's post, let's see if I have this straight. -Each gravity well will be FAR, FAR larger than those in the basic game. They will contain and focus on a planet/asteroid/station BUT will also contain a star model off to the side somewhere (and maybe asteroid fields to make fleet maneuvers tricky). Star Wars pretty much has only one habital planet/base per star system anyway, so this works perfectly. I also like how the larger gravity well will make fleet battles more 'epi
We have phase lanes to remove wack-a-mole, yet the devs had the "bright" idea to remove phase lanes between stars. Now, all we're doing is playing wack-a-mole with much longer response times. Not fun. Can we please get star based phase lines back?
I like that system. How wack-a-mole can open lanes between 3-4 stars be?
Ok, I think I have the map part figured out. I'm not very good at explaining things so I'm just going to break it down as much as I can. Bear with me here... The entire map will be one star system as far as the Sins engine is concerned. Each planet, star, space station(?), etc will be a "planet" (henceforth to be referred to as a "node") within that single star system. All we have to do to create stars is give that node a star texture. The central star for the Sins engine will just be g
Yea, haven't you ever heard of the 12 days of Christmas? :P Merry Cmas everyone.
I wish that when i press 1 (selecting group 1) then holding SHIFT 2 The Effect was not that I now select group 2 and not 1, but that I now command Both Groups but neither are changed in terms of group bindings.
I agree and had a little mini rant about this in the [link="https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/?forumid=440&aid=169471#1384571"]micro annoyances thread.
The issue is that 0% structures impede the progress of ships. All you have to do is plunk one down in the path of an enemy ship and it is forced to (slowly) maneuver around it or blow it up - and since it won't automatically target a 0% structure you have to micromanage this.
That exploit is just one of several things that are wrong with the current "blueprint" system. It definitely works. I kinda found it by accident in a game against Ron. He was trying to retreat his flagship and was griping about the pathfinding making its progress around my static structures very slow. So a little light bulb appeared above my head and I thought "I'll give you something to maneuver around..." After about the 3rd turret I plunked down he started screaming so I stopped. We
It also seems very Adventish since from what little we know from the lore the Advent seem to be more shield oriented than the other races. How so?
Well, I don't know where it is off to now but many moons ago we had links to more information about each race including a few ships, abilities for said ships, and orbital structures. Maybe someone still has the old links stashed away somewhere (
Here's an ability: Tractor Beam It would have a very long range (if it didn't it probably wouldn't be very useful) and would grab a single target ship and rapidly pull it close to the ship that used the ability. This could be used on enemy ships to isolate them from their supporting fleet and pick them off or it could be used on a friendly ship to pull it quickly away from danger. The use of this ability against a hostile unit would lend itself to a battleship/dreadnought type
Can we set way points for a retreating ship/fleet that hits all points smoothly yet? Or does the ship/fleet still stop at each node, then continue on? (Haven't played the newest beta due to time constraints and computer malfunctions)
Yea, it moves pretty smoothly now.
Yes but how does limiting the number of images advance that cause? What power does a picture have that the rest of the information in the article doesn't? I don't look at a swastika and have a sudden urge to kill Jews or conquer Europe or bleach my hair and goose step around the block. Would you rather have someone come across this kind of content on a site like wikipedia which is going to give some fairly objective analysis of the subject or stumble across it for the first time on some
Sounds like someone with waaaaaay too much time on their hands.
I still want to know what happened to thrawn. He just said something like "Wow, I didn't expect to lose this early." and left. Did you beat him up eet? Did Pith? Did he lose his flag to pirates/militia and just give up? Did the tooth fairy get pissed off because he doesn't brush his teeth as often as he should and destroy his homeworld??
Yea, I already posted about the shipyard getting blown up in the technical feedback thread. Here's the screenie of the super healing:
