but i would want to be able to disable it on the fly if possible. give me some props here, i am developing my kiddo to be a well rounded gamer someday.
Yeah, an ESRB rating scaler in the game would be cool..haha. Don't tell our lead i said that :P

Mmmm....poutine is delicious!
I think of it more in terms of whether or not it adds value. Pointless swearing, gore, sex, etc. wouldn't have added much value to our game, but would have limited our reach. I wanted to have bodies flying out of ships in the debris, for example, but at their tiny scale, the value added was minimal, so it wasn't worth taking the ESRB hit.
My apologies, I was referring to movies when I said ratings, NOT ESRB ratings for games :)
I don't work for Stardock and this is not MY product. You can find information on monopolies from whatever source you like. I am not presenting anything new here.
I'm not so sure anyone is trying to take the moral high ground here. It's more a function of economic reality. 'Evil' or not, monopolies, and oligopolies for that matter will strip purchasing power from the end consumer.
Ever wonder what fuels the developers at Ironclad? I'll start with a typical day and see what fools will follow... Hey, anyone who can't wait is welcome to jump into the beta now and have your say in the final stage of tweaks!
The Jerker desks are perfect. Bring them back!
It is surprising how much 'adult' content makes it into movies like Disney's Hercules, or the Shrek series. It is also interesting to note the differences between Canadian VS American rating systems, the former focused more on violence, the later on sex and drug use.
And yes, how incredibly charitable by Stardock to provide such incredibly gracious updates such as high-graphic settings.
I think you may be confused. 'High-end graphic settings' refers to the interface, the real value is in the extensive free graphic texturing and back-end programming that allows low and mid range systems to run more efficiently with much greater graphic quality.
Fences receives the Ironclad stamp of approval [e digicons][/e]
