Lore wise, the Vasari ARE militaristic and their technology IS focused on combat eg. phase missiles.
They WERE militeristic. Then they got their asses handed to them by something and now they are trying to make due with what little they have left. I guess if you consider guerillias militaristic then yes, they still are. However, most guerilla forces tend to favor hit and run attacks

Is nobody from the beta left? Alright, if you think the Vasari are so poor now in a stand up fight, in beta, they were even poorer in such a fight. I don't remember exact numbers, but the Vasari cost for cost (both in terms of resource cost and fleet upkeep cost) were the worst of all the races, by far, which the beta community cried out against. So the devs buffed it. At the time, yes, I thought the Vasari needed a buff, but they are fine now, because
Trust me, this idea has been brought up so many times since the first beta of the original sins, and a few times I think an IC rep came in and flat out said no (though I could be wrong don't quote me). The main problem is, no matter how they are implemented, someone is going to be disappointed, they will either be too slow, or too fast, op or up. In addition, despite being one of the first people to bring it up, I no longer think it's a good idea, for many of the reasons presented
Yeah, I'm currently having a problem with this as well, however, since each scout ship is relatively inexpensive and takes about 3 mines before it dies, I'm still using it as a minesweeper [e digicons][/e]
This bug has been around as long as I can remember, just ignore it it's not getting fixed anytime soon.
For those who don't know how to read an op, he isn't complaining that it's still in beta, he (and I) am complaining that it's showing as a finished product when it's not a finished product, which is false advertising. I had this problem with the Jan 1 release date and this time around decided to wait to see if it was the real deal, which it sounds like it is not. Last time they gave me a refund, so to the op, you could always go with that.
It's been said a million times: January 1st was a placeholder date. It's been recommended that they change it to a different date, or to TBA, but for some reason that hasn't been done.
Yes, but I went off the Impulse page for the release date. So I'm still irked by it, because I shouldn't have to check the forums to know when the real release date is when there's a release date on the store page.</p
Well, Happy New Years everybody, I just purchased Entrenchment (because the release date was today) and got the beta. Great. Word of advice, if your looking for the final product, it doesn't look like it's coming out today, despite what it says.
I really enjoyed oblivion. The voice actiing, while mundane after awhile, doesn't bother me. I think Uranium would rather Bethesda recruited 300 voice actors or something rediculous like that. Anyways, I'm only going to address the first part of the op, ingame adverts. As long as they are unobtrusiv (like ingame billboards) and don't keep me from playing my game, I generally don't notice them, and depending on what time period the game is based in, I h
I meant vasari, the vasari use their scouts to capture the extractors
The advent use their scouts to capture neutral extractors.
cool... thank you very much for the info... I thought that the OR structure required log slots... Good to know that it does not. I'll try the stagger method that you mentioned.
Actually it does require log slots
You probably read it on the site somewhere, there are quite a few inaccuracies about the game on the site that have been around since they redid the site mid beta.
This is not a bug. Dead asteroids have always broken trade lanes. But there's no reason to fix this since only the TEC, the trade kings, should be able to overcome this. It gives them an economic/trade advantage over the other races which they need to compete with the other races.
You don't. It's impossible. And the forums do wierd things sometimes.
But they are worth it if you have the money to spare. What I believe the monk is trying to say is, most games don't last long enough for that money to be sparable in multi, but if you play a 6 hour game against the AI, eventually you will have enough to make it worth it.
Yeah, I gave up on this along time ago, it said i needed .net 2.0 and i had 3.0 or 4.0, can't remember which, I asked on the forums a couple times and noone answered. Anyways, .NET is a microsoft product that comes with most if not all windows copies, although you can download it from their site too. Hope you have better luck.
The Protoss is one race, not made of of many. They have two main societies though, the conservative Khalai Protoss and the exiled Dark Templar.LIES! and ways bubb9 its not story, its the truth
I'm curious then, who are these other races in the Protoss?
And if you had read the whole thread before posting, you would see he is listening to those who post constructivly...
Personally I think that it is the support cruisers that should be disabled, not the heavy cruisers, as it is usually support abilities such as repair, repulsion and the shield sharing that determine the outcome of a battle.
Most ships with more than one weapon (largely cap ships) have them spread out in such a way that they can't all target the same target, so some of the weapon banks will fire at something other than what you tell the ship to fire at (TEC battleships are one of these). Sounds like your describing the iconus guarding btw, which was mentioned by kitkun. That bubble effect is them sharing damage done on the shield of ships around it which can make things hard to kill, try targeting those fi
I'm pretty sure you have to give the structure the "phase gate node" effect/ability but I'm not mod savy enough to know how to do that.
This topic has been discussed more times in the past than I would care to remember. It was given a staunch "not now and probably not later" in each one.
Flagships are already in the game, it is your highest level cap ship that serves as the "lead ship" for your fleet.
And so that customer service that you never called is horrible because of this?
