Moreover, CD version HAS to be activated too.
If you want updates, yes. Are you saying when you installed from the disk it forced you to activate and would not run the game without?

A lot of people seem to be confused on Stardock and DRM. Stardock releases games in two formats: on-disk, and digital. The DISK version of the game has absolutely no DRM and no copy protection. There's no disk check, no serial entering on installation, no nothing. You can make an image of the disk, load it up with Daemon Tools or any other virtual-drive software, install from it, and play without needing any crack, internet auth, or anything of the like. The DIGITAL version, d
Let me stress again that to the best of my knowledge elemental does not contain CD checks
Yes, Elemental does not do a disk check. I got my LE box, and it's unopened and I'm playing Elemental just fine. The whole "I must crack the executable because I want to keep the box in mint condition" thing does not apply to Elemental, given the lack of disk check. Fun fact: The pirated Skidrow version is based on the Digital Download of the game, thus it does require a cr
We don't really need more forums. What we need is the finalized ingame Mod Library (meaning, being able to submit mods and get them approved) ;) The forums can stay for help/discussion/WIP, and you'd always be able to find release mods through the library, then go to the forums and find the thread with its name.
Obviously the best way to ensure mankind's legacy, other than leaving lots of plastic around, is to shoot a lot of boxes with earthly goodies and hello messages in all directions of space.
I'd like to know if calculated variables can be interchanged with integers anywhere. For example, when creating a creature during a quest for the player to fight, there's a specified field for the creature's level: Darkling 1
Attacker rolls a number between 0 and their attack rating. Defender rolls a number between 0 and their defense rating. Damage done is attacker's number minus defender's number. If the result is less than 1, the game considers it a miss. So, if the attacker with attack rating of 24 rolls a 3, and the defender with defend rating of 5 rolls a 4, the attack misses. At least that's what i figured out till now.
Yep. There's
They didn't all ship on the same day, some people were saying theirs shipped on the 26th. In the US, it shouldn't take over 3-4 days (the USPS site claims 2-3 for Priority). Overseas though, don't worry yet. Overseas orders are also shipped USPS International, and they're not as fast as in the US :( If you send an email to , they will be able to confirm if it shipped and probably when. Note though that USPS doesn't do shipment

He used to show up for free and join you for free in beta... but back then we also downloaded data from SD's servers to play and didn't have the local data so who knows how that was done. If you just want a free champion, I'd open up one of the XMLs and see if defines a spawn percentage/tile distance variance, or some other spawn trigger. You might be able to make your own that spawns nearby at start and is free.
If you start a game with Janusk Advice unchecked does he still appear? I don't have the game in front of me, but I thought there was an option for him somewhere in the game.
Yes, this is a setting in game options and if it is disabled, Janusk does not appear in the game. I've been playing this way for a while, quite happily :)
Yeah, the tooltip says 25%, and the value provided is 1.25. However, for the essence bonus stat the game treats the value as the actual percentage boost instead of a multiplier (like, if you have 16 essence and you multiply by 1.25, you will get 20 which is a 25% bonus). Since it does treat it as a straight percentage, it just adds 1.25% bonus to your total. Shards list the bonus value correctly, the temple does not.
5. Tech In my very first game I researched three trees (magic, civic, diplomacy) to the maximum. Researching goes waaaaaaaay to quickly. In GalCiv you do the research at the cost of... something. Here research just comes. And it comes fast. Right now I don't care what I research because I know that I'll get whatever I need from other trees in just few turns.
At game creation, set the pacing to Epic ;)
Kryo was saying in IRC last night something about the next patch being in testing, I think. If all goes well, I'd expect it this week.
Memory Leaks On Win7-64 machines with ATI Cards... “Now that the game has bitten me, I am getting the 'out of memory' error on my very beefy new home rig. It's Win7-64 and an ATI card. Check out the mod library in the workshop ingame. Maps can get approved that way currently so people don't post them on the boards.
AFAIK, the "stacking" of tags is actually a bug that's being looked at. All the other data overwrites (which one takes priority isn't known yet), but the stuff inside the tags, which is basically all the damage numbers/calculations, stats, quest rewards, etc doesn't get overwritten so it ends up stacking. It's not supposed to.
Just to clarify: I meant speed up or slow down the time of the game. If I understand you correctly, I can only speed it up, not slow it down? (I'm old and slow: I don't mind if things are in slow motion.)
The slowest speed is.. pretty slow. You probably won't need to slow it down even more. But yes, you can only speed it up and back down to "normal", you can't slow it down below normal, but you can pause and issue orders which is arguably better.
Do I und
I think folks are wel aware of the ability to get a refund, to point that out over and over is sillt. That is my point. I think folks make a LOT of valid criticisms and suggestions. To reply to those with the simple repartee of "if you don't love it then GTFO - SD fans only" is at best disingenious. This is a very very common fanboi policy - have the opposition removed; a purge if you will. Indeed, saying "i'm sick of all the whining" is whining in itself. let's get along and learn to
