thing of it is, i give them "hold position orders" close to the planet but on their own they somehow slink off way out of the grav well.
knownalien
I thought this problem was fixed, but ships can, for some reason, go WAY outside of the grav well (as in my current save). What a pain in the butt!!
This could be added to the civ tech tree. This would possibly make the diplomacy system more robust. This would allow you to get your allies and/or enemies to do things they might not normally do due to race relations. This is esp. useful in locked teams. I recall playing a game with locked teams (3 v 3) and at one point my original ally asked me to attack my other original ally. However, I had no such ability to do that.
you'll have to use the envoy cruisers and place some at every planet that they have colonized for one way of gaining relaionship. each planet is able to get a 1.50 relationship bonus from envoy cruisers.
what a pain in the butt to have to do!!!
i cannot get them to like me 120%!!!
my play stat says :145 ally: 111
I am playing a locked game and I have researched every tech!!! With envoys at my allies' home planets I cannot seem to get any pacts going. confused.
really?? no takers??
It is not clear to me how the AI whom I have a cease fire and peace treaty with and 80%+ relations can all of the sudden go to war with me. I suspect the reason the AI did so was I went after one of his allies who was not yet my ally. But I don't know this for sure as I have not seen it mentioned. Also, I would love to help my teammates when they are attacked, but when they are attacked by my new friends, I am unable to assist. Also, In my 3 v 3, one of the enemies
BCXetreme, what you are describing I have never seen before. 25 ships??
please give me the address to send my minidump to support. thanks.
My post was more addressing the way you could deal with any ally you don't fully trust. Setting staging points for operations often happens to coincide quite nicely with keeping your ally "honest." I actually think the AI is fairly mature in this aspect, honestly. I've had human players betray me in much more immature manners before. The AI is only doing what I would do in any temporary alliance situation: work togeth
the points the last 3 posts seem to imply is that the AI is rather immature. I'd almost they never implemented it in the juvenile fashion that they did, but rather saved the whole shabang for this next expansion. Lesson learned: don't play unlocked teams and expect any AI at its word.
You can "win" the game (victory dialog comes up) if you kill all opposing players while you have a peace treaty in effect with your ally. If you have a peace treaty in effect with two players but they do not have one with each other, then it gets complicated....
well, like I said, my ally cancelled everything.
A question: what were you going to do once you conquered all your enemies and your friend stayed your friend all the way through? Turn on him/her? Good on the AI for getting the drop on ya, I say.
me? We had a peace agreement. The galaxy was big enough for the both of us. I would have honored my word.
So I decided to play a harder game. Perhaps as preperation for online play. But I noticed some rather aweful aspects of the game. Teams were unlocked. I thought it made sense to try this. As I played, the different factions were giving me missions. Honest, I didn't "do" any of them on purpose, but simpy by going out and expanding you are likely to make someone else happy: "enemy of my enemy is my friend" sort of thing. And it
oh, and I forgot to mention, 1/3 of the devs ended their lives by jumping off a bridge because they could not think of a cool enough name for chuck's expansion. wow . . .did you see that? Merely typing "chuck" is making my walls shake!!!
SD tried a 4th expansion focusing on just Chuck Norris's left pink toe, and for 23 seconds every game on ever computer in the world ran perfectly and all computers miraculously had Windows 7! But after the 23 seconds was up, all of the software writers morphed into crying infants, every computer turned into a plastic mini Yoda, Windows 7 morphed into a program that repeatedly said (in binary) "would you like fries with that," and the single Chuck Norris skin cell sample that the devs ha
does the AI sell metal and crystal?? I'd like to see the AI affect the markets.
doesn't jive with the advent ships where you could get the ship but not the personnel that make them so lethal.
1) pirates' own capital ships can get technology that they stole, bought or otherwise from another race. Their cap ships might have to have capped abilities, so less multiple abilities than other races' ships. 2) pirates stealing a non-protected cap ship is cool. It SHOULD be difficult to do and only possible if the race is dumb enough to leave one unguarded; BUT, the cap ship should not be fully functional, which can be remedied by offering something t
oops, sorry, i meant to respond in the other pirate thread . . . not post my own.

i am aware of the shift and alt buttons, but it doesn't work well for bombers and fighters who die and have to constantly be re-selected.
1) when attacking a planet, with the drop down ship list on the left, I like to direct my fighters/bombers to a specific target, but the ship list keeps refreshing itself and I can't scroll down fast enough to see the enemy ship or structure. how do I work around this?
