Solar Sails would look very cool. Though very impractical in non-fictional terms. Too impractical for my taste, I think it would bother me if they were in the game and behaved like normal ships that used propulsion. I have seen mines used very well in Homeworld, defensive player strategies typically annoy me, but they seem to fit this game as its slower paced. In most RTS games playing heavy defense seems to make death a certainty, a long, drawn out painful certainty

Take homeworld, slow it down, then add Galactic Civilizations 2. Blend for 3 minutes on medium. Pre-heat oven for 400 and bake for 2 - 3 years. Be sure to let it cool for a few minutes before you eat it. At least thats my take on it

900kb/s here... but the most I have ever gotten from the Stardock Downloader is 300kb/s or so. Though there is no reason to frantically download this asap, dev's already said it won't be fun and it won't have multi. You guys should wait a couple days. I mean I'll download it on day 1, but that doesn't mean you should. You should let me have the bandwidth. > Muhahahaha

Question won't be how fast you can download it, but how fast they can upload it to you. With all of us furiously downloading at roughly similar times server may get a tad sluggish. I have no idea as far as thier limitations on bandwidth, so I could be completely wrong.
