Click on an allied planet and it'll bring it up where your build buttons/unit commands are.

It's an FFA?
Pretty sure you have to bomb all colonies. That means planets and asteroids.
You get one hangar for 4 tactical slots on TEC, I'm positive. I may be wrong on the Vasari slots, my frame of reference is that I had to basically clear out half my hangars just to put in a phase jumper. But the Advent are definitely the ones with the extra-squadron research upgrade.
Form a fleet, preferably with the ships you want to protect, set the fleet to tight formation. That should keep the flak frigates on screen duty instead of run-down-fighters-like-dogs mode.
I thought of Imperium Galactica II
I eagerly await the next suggestion: SUBJECT: Ironclad, go make me a sandwich and make my bed
Pick a different map. I never pick those ones where your systems are wide open without chokepoints. Seems like the rule there would be expand or die.
Haha, der klickenfest.
The thing with carrier cruisers is you shouldn't group them. Let them just hang out at the edge of the gravity well. If you group them in a fleet they'll fly around the center of the battle and get shot. And one squadron is enough, just build more.
Hangars have more coverage and better upgrades for bombers and fighters in my opinion. Their effectiveness is lessened somewhat as Vasari because the Vasari take 6 (!!!!) tactical slots for a single hangar and only get to build two squadrons, while the TEC hangars are 4 and the Advent get an extra squadron per hangar. With 6 hangars, I rarely respond to a "Your colony is under siege" message unless it's a big fleet. But pirates? Fuhgeddaboutit.
Spawn more overlords.
Fighters. Flak Frigates if you have your ships keep a tight formation. But fighters are fire and forget, and they're not a huge liability if they chase them across the map into trouble, they're auto-rebuilt.
Sins has more atmosphere. Planets in Sword of the Stars always looked generic and rarely had any clutter other than similar looking asteroids. In Sins each planet is covered with orbital platforms. Sword of the Stars has no fighters/carriers and the dev team will tell you to go to hell if you ask them for fightercraft. Sword of the Stars ships look cartoony in comparison. Don't believe the guy above me, he must be playing Sins on crap mode. Sins rarely gets to be
Paint ships red. More dakka.
Umm no I pay allot of money for my connection and did speed tests and all the speed tests showed a dowload speed om 612 mb a sec.
Then you're a liar. Nobody on a consumer line gets even 600 megabits, much less megabytes.
Advanced Phase Jump Inhibiter (must be destroyed before units can jump out)
Sounds unbalancing. Can you build more than one in the same gravity well? Does it have a radius like the regular jump inhibiter? Are capital ships immune? If not, will scouts get some researchable immunity so you can recon before you send your fleet into a do-or-die fight?
Look, nobody here is going to go out and drop over 100$ on an OS just because you say so, if you don't have anything more constructive than "Install Lunix/XP, problem solved" then please, go to HardOCP or Anandtech or somewhere else that cares.
It's smart enough to know how to conduct hit-and-run strikes, much to the irritation of these forums which are crying for a phase-jump nerf. It apparently sucks in 1v1 maps but when I played on a 3-way FFA it got tougher.
or go to gamestop
Did you pre-order it? No? Then you're boned.
I don't think so. My Siege Frigates go straight for the planets/asteroids, and my space superiority fighters go straight for the other fighters. The targeting priority seems to be excellent in this game.
There was a program memory address patch they released back in August. If you haven't installed that and the other general performance hotfix, try those. I have Vista, don't turn off Aero, and run Sins of a Solar Empire at 1680x1050 on full detail.
They can't colonize, but some maps have more than one base.
I played Centrifuge today and I barely got up 4 tiers in the supply tree, why so stressed?. Also, the Vasari can expand their fleet cap by 20% with civil research so try that with the maximum supply cap researched and see if that helps?
I'm not sure if these are bugs or not but for the Vasari, even with 8 labs and pre-requisites (for the tech lines) researched I still couldn't research summoning the dark fleet, or the giant cannon. I could click them and queue them and the research tab would show they were in the queue, but they would never start, even if I cleared out all the other queued stuff. Then when I would queue something else up behind it, it would start instead. The other thing is that the Vasari structure-
