It seems like we've definitely hit our stride for the last couple months. Hopefully, with summer coming, we can get a lot done and update on a more constant basis.

Gotta love Russian technology. "Hey guys, let's put a cannon on a scout!" :P
It's amazing just how much better looking the ships are now, and I can tell you that EaW would've been a joke when compared to SoaSE.
Can't spell Godwin without God and win. I personally love it, but there is some seriously stiff competition over at ModDB, there are a ton of great artists over there.
Slipstream Productions has recently launched a section called the Thunderdome , an extension of the modding website whose main goal is to review games as well as post AAR (after action reports) of certain games. Because SoSE is planned as a major game for our modification team, it goes without saying that the game had to have an AAR! <a href="http://thunderdome.slipstreamproductions.net/index.php?page=/aar/siege
I wouldn't recommend it. As someone on the DoV team, which was connected to Halogen, I can tell you right now that Bungie and Microsoft do not take kindly to RTS modifications of Halo.
Well I apologize that you're so focused on the ground combat and that you're disappointed. Apparently, nothing I can say will convince you otherwise that we are more than capable of making a modification that should be fun no matter in what form that it takes place.
Well since DoV is focused a lot on the space side of combat, that throws out 90% of RTS games out there. Then, the game has to be friendly to the modding community, and (preferably) have a released SDK or a fairly moddable engine. That throws out 99% of RTS games on the market. On top of that, a good mod will take at least a year to a year and a half to finish, usually more. Because of this, mods have to be started before or very close to the launchdate of the game so that people that aren't
Forgive me but, im still distraught over the loss of ground combat... I wont be waiting for this, SSP has quite honestly preety much gone under with the loss of theyre Halo project and the "icing" of Asylum... I can understand your misgivings about Halogen (believe me, I had waited since pre-Derelict Studios days for it) but it was not because of a lack of support from Slipstream Productions. Indeed, it is argua
Sorry for the bump, but we would like to get as many people to read this (especially now that Beta 2 is out) as possible. Slipstream Productions, and DoV in particular, is actively recruiting for a couple positions, specifically those of skinners and modelers. If you have any experience in either of those two fields (or any type of experience in modding at all!) please register at our forums or post here so we can contact you and gain your assistance in helping to finish this total conversion!
The ONLY RTS game that I've played somewhat recently that didn't feel rushed was Company of Heroes. C&C3 and SupCom both seemed incomplete and rushed to me.
... :O How do they decide NOT to include the Soviets in the expansion?!
They were obviously too anxious for battle.
In addition, we just wanted to throw out there that anyone who has modding experience in SoaSE or otherwise can apply to help out. We are always looking for new people, and are actively recruiting! Create an account and post a topic in here if interested. Or you could always just post in this topic and we'll be sure to get in touch with you. EDIT: In additi
@ Danie Aliens apparently have a knack for bad timing. @ DeadlyShoe Really, I'm at the low end of the chain when it comes to knowing about major stuff, and I'm not entirely sure how it is laid out in SoaSE, so I can't draw a straight comparison. However, for 'backstory' purposes, there is a rather large map of the DoV universe created <a href="http://forums.slipstreamproducti
As of yet, nothing that would be interesting. Although if you really want to see some of the work that SSP has put together before, there are plenty of videos on YouTube of Halogen, their Halo RTS mod that was three years in the works and close to release when they received a Cease and Desist letter from Bungie. (Built to the Command and Conquer Zero Hour engine). <a href="http://www.
It is in construction currently. @ Everyone who may be confused about the storyline: DoV takes place in a world much like the one conceived by Harry Turtledove and his 'World War' series. The short story is: an alien race who is rapidly running out of resources marks multiple planets for 'capture.' One of these is, of course, Earth. This is around 1200 AD. After scanning what Earth had technology wise, the Conquest Fleet was launched. Now, the Scifaxi (as the aliens are ca
