Just had an AI player send a Kol through one of my planets to another and back again, my bombers took it down to 300 hull points before it escaped to the star. Then it turned around and came back for me to finish it off. Also the player AI needs to start group moving, I see that the pirates do but not the AI players.

I am starting this post to make one thread for any AI problems or suggestions so the are in one place making it easier for the Devs to find. I am in my second game with the latest patch and have found a couple of bugs. I am playing a custom galaxy 4 stars, 9 AI players and I forget how many planets, I have conquered one star system and was looking for were to go next. I zoomed out and noticed that there were two planets in an AI ally's area that were not colonized I took a lo
Or if he attacked instead of retreating. LOL!
Well it happened late in the game.
A couple of times in my last game the message, "The Fate of Your Empire Awaits You", appeared in the planet reports box, when highlighted a message below it reads, "Your fleet captains are gathered at your capital to wait for orders". What is this all about?
Just finished a game with the new patch, Large galaxy, marauders, high resources 9 hard AI. First the AI definitely needs improvement in both fleet composition and tactics. The pirates were for the most part none existent at least for me even when I had a 100K+ bounty. I like the culture aspect but it does tend to slow down the late game. I am also unsure as to how many broadcast centers to build and were, I was getting 0.4 culture on an asteroid with thee and the same
My fleet was chasing down an AI capitol ship, went through three planets then got to my home planet. With me hot on his tail the ship stops to fire at an extractor and my fleet destroyed it.
My first game with the new patch, an AI player came into my star system with a large fleet (sorry don't recall the composition) I took one look and new I was in trouble But... instead of staying together it split into three or four groups and attacked different planets enabling me to defeat them.
[quote] Next time this happens try holding down CTRL and hit 1 several times rather than once. Does this resolve it? There seems to be something finicky here, but we can't isolate the problem. Is anyone else having issues with this as well? (Crumbs in the keyboard don't count!) As I mentioned in another thread, I tried to take two groups and redistribute them into three groups. I spent the rest of the game trying to convince one cap ship that it was only in grou
You can already take planets without fleet battles, once your culture overpowers another. I noticed a planet I was about to attack was flashing blue so I waited to see what happened and it became mine never even went to it. Cheers.
Blair, Would it help if I sent you the final save from each game I've played? Cheers.
Here is one situation, you get an alert to incoming marauders so I bring up that planet on the empire tree and select my bombers now while waiting for the pirates to arrive I have my mouse ready to click on the pillagers I'm not zooming in or out in fact I'm not moving the mouse or using the buttons just waiting to attack the pillagers and the tree will move up and down one or two icons. I believe it has to do with ships arriving at planets but it interferes with issuing orders. Cheers.
Then I can't issue orders.
for the empire bar thing it might move cos u zoom in (using the mouse roller middle button) and that can make the empire tree move down or up depending on which way u are zooming. You can easily stop this from happening by keeping your pointer in the middle of the screen. Yes this happens at times but the problem I am having is it moves up and down while I have my mouse hovering over it about to target something, causes me to give wrong orders. <br/
I am on my 7th game and have found a couple of issues, One is that the empire tree keeps moving up and down on it's own making it difficult at times to give the orders you want. This has been quite frustrating at times. Also when using the slide bar it sometimes doesn't stay were I slide it to goes back to the original position. The other is that when saving a game, in order to append a save game name I have to hold down the left mouse button to change the last letter. It works
I like to build all the hangers I can, then it is easy to take out the pillagers first saving the cost of upgrading your planet again. Cheers.
Errr... I have to say, I really don't understand the argument that the pirates don't have an incentive to bomb planets and the like. Isn't a 125k bounty quite enough incentive? They aren't going after the trade ships because they aren't getting their money from the ships themselves, they are getting it through funding from other nations. That does not explain all the pirates attacking me when I have no bounty at all. Speaking of bounty I hope they fix h
SchematicNinja, I have to disagree, we are talking about pirates and insurgents not Terrorists. I think that they should be a part of the game not your main opponent I want to battle the AI players and that is just not happening. In 6 games so far I have only come accross 1 decent AI opponent and even then after a couple of battles the pirates finished him off. If the pirates just took out defenses and logistics and not wipe out planets they would still have to be delt
I have given this some thought and I think the easiest way to fix the pirates is to just remove the Pillagers from their fleet. It does not make sense that pirates would wipe out planets as that is what produces the plunder they are after, and insurgents would not want to wipe out planets or kill off populations. Cheers.
Try playing with a mix of medium and hard AI, I did this in one game and had no Pirates other than the ones on unexplored planets. Cheers.
Well, I just finished my third game (the one I mentioned in this thread) and did not have one Pirate attack on myself or any of the AI opponents. Cheers.
My first two games the Pirates and Insurgents amounted to a clickfest keeping track of where the were and dealing with them they wiped out almost all the AI, I play with 9 with 3 stars. The game I am playing now I have not seen one Pirate attack on me or the AI, I am allied with 6 of the 7 left. The reason I see no Pirate attacks I believe is that I am playing a custom Galaxy 4 stars 60 planets and (here is the reason I believe there are no Pirate attacks) I have every second AI player
