LizardPariah, yes you can access movement on the Z-axis. You have to use the manual (left click as opposed to right click)move option and use the ¬ key, which is located just below the escape key, above the tab key and to the left of the 1 key, to access the z-axis.

Hi Kyro! After experimentation I have found that z axis movement is bound to the '¬' key, which on my keyboard is just to the left of the '1' key and just above the 'tab' key. On my keyboard the '~' key is just to the left of the enter key, below the ']' key and above the 'R-shift' key. A few issues with movement on the z-axis though, primarily that if u want to phase to another planetary body you have to move back down to 0 on the z-axis <img src="http://images.stardock.com/g

Major Stress, I mention EVE not as an example of combat nor game mechanic by game mechanic comparison. The only comparison I make is with regards to the overall universe map and the way guilds and clans compete to control area and resources. So yes you are correct in that I am thinking about the universe map....

Thats great to hear Blair. As you asked for further thoughts, what do people think about some type of 'campaign' system that moves slightly beyond a 'ladder' system? Just to expand a little on what I mean by a 'campaign'; most RTS games tend to rely on players' initiative when it comes to campaigns, with players designing and producing larger macro maps made up of many of the playing boards available in-game. Although it is perhaps a little late in day to implement an

The ~ key does not currently work to enable movement on the Z-axis, well at least from my attempts but an hour ago. In another thread one user suggests that the 'z' key can be used instead--but i've yet to try it.

Yarlen, would I also be correct in saying that some of the devs behind Nexus when it was indeed Imperium Galatica, have since found their way here and created Sins?

I really like comment number 9 and would like to see this implemented. From my limited game time, the lack of scale of the planets generally is really starting to grate on me, even though I can understand why they are this small relative to the size of the ships and space installations. I am assuming that if one were to scale up the planets one would also have to scale up the gravity wells? Personally I don't have an issue with scaling up both, indeed I have a preference for

Am I right in saying that Nexus was not always called Nexus but was to be another installment of the Imperium Galactica series? Personally I think setting tactics for single ships along the lines of 'aggressive', 'defensive' etc. is doable given the scale and that there is already a 'button' to set the engagement range 'i.e.' weapon range, gravity well etc. Likewise I think, given the scale, it is still possible to set other tactics, such as focus on using such and such weapon system v

Just a quick fire response regarding my first impressions of combat. To sum up in one sentence; I found the combat un-involving and lacking any kind of tactical flair, particularly given being restricted to a 2d plane. That said, still enjoying combat and the other aspects of the game, and I will post more impressions and detailed responses after I complete my fist game. Cheers, Fandangdo
