So stop yelling and actually read this thread.
No offense Volt, but I read that as sarcasm. Besides in post 65 he says first that "I already told you I didn't play you, and that wasn't my game, but just for the sake of argument", hence I read what came after as sarcasm and 'for the sake of argu
At any rate, I was going to voluteer to be online anytime New Years Day or after to play Sova or Skirantra against anyone who wanted to test this stuff out. Kharma in that game I posted I was TheMouse and you played under the handle Nightmare Crush who went up against Terr, right? Infact I am pretty sure that the game I posted a replay of is the right one given the time stamp on your post and your description. You did play me, albeit as a 2v2. Anyway, regardless of whether you microed well or not, your intitial account in your OP is very in-accurate and misleading. You lost that engagement fair and square IMO and your

At the risk of antagonising Kharma I must say that your account differs a bit from what actually happened i.e. he had a few more frigs than you suggest which enabled Terr to tip the scales in his favour. Plus, I don't think you microed that well. Further, his so
Yeah, I was in that game. Sova is a great cap ship..... [e digicons]:D[/e] p.s. hunting for the file now, will post soon.
I don't really view one spam as worse than any other; they are all just as annoying as each other. All I can do is just put up with spams and remain bitter that the reason for them was a gameplay change made during beta.
Yes, I can imagine reading the press release right now.... "Coming Christmas 2009! Sins expansion number two, complete with actual, real, non-virtual and concrete new content, such as an actual fleet formation and control system! All for $9.95! Pre-order now and help produce the, actual, real, non-virtual and concrete new content that you will be buying!!" Ahhh god bless stardock, the customer driven gaming experience!
Carrier spam emerged, I think, out of attempts to balance the game and prevent other types of spam. Where as cyclic balancing attempts might change the type of ship used in a spam, the general impetus of the spam won't be solved until the economy and infinite resources are addressed. All that will happen is that as/if the devs fiddle with ship stats, different ships will become the choice for a spam until the next balancing attempt.
As far as I remember all players have the ability to unpause the game, no matter who paused it in the first place. As (if) this is the case there is not really a need for a patch. As for removal of the feature, I don't think we should allow the alleged actions of the few to result in the removal of this handy feature.
I really don't think calling someone a whinging bitch or loser is appropriate, nor do I think picking up on the OPs mistake regarding the name of the developer is a valid line of argumentation against the OPs points. Second, asking the OP to programme a fix is extremley asinine as this is technically the responsibility of the devs. The OP obviously likes the game and most of you posting insults fail to take on board his other point regarding a small multiplayer base giv
What are the Kalypso territories? Why the extra charges in territories such as the UK that dont require 'localization' per se (assuming by localization you mean translation)? Regardless, I really don't see why my friend in the UK had to pay more when Kalypso had sweet FA to do with the purchase he made via impulse. I think I'll advise him to buy via a proxy and USA paypal account in the future.
Just to correct you will, $9.95 if you are an American and living in America.
The game is $9.95 for USA customers only. Although not stated on the impulse buy page for entrenchment, by the time you get to the checkout and recieve an e-receipt you will see that non usa customers are charged more. An EU friend of mine complained and has been offered a refund of the difference between $9.95 and the $14 odd he paid. Just to make it clear, its not an exchange rate thing but rather stardock and ironclad deciding to charge different amounts per region.<
I think it is a great idea and reminds me alot of the Battlefleet Gothic board game. However, I doubt such a system will ever make it into Sins.
I agree Oezem.
Its not a bug. I had confirmation from stardock/sales that it is priced differently per region, kinda sucks.
I reckon mines will take up tactical slots at release, which should remedy the complaints raised in this thread. We have got to remember its a Beta and some of the stuff, for example the cost of SBs, is provisional.
Gee, I'd love to see this quote in context.
If memory serves the context was a number of factors. The timing of the release and avoiding releasing when other major titles were to be released, and also a small dev team and the need for funds to keep going. Context in the other sense, this was said on IRC and also a forum post (I think) in repsonse to the dropping of certain features, single player campaign and a reason for a lower reta
Yes, I understand what you mean regarding changes in statements. However, I think in the context of Sins this point you make is a little over the top given the develpment history and what was promised, particularly in light of the gamer bill of rights. You can't claim to be representing gamers interests whilst contradicting your own codes of conduct. Now, I acknowledge that Sins was released in some countries at a lower retail price than most PC games. However, looking
For all three expansion packs, at UK prices, I would be paying the equivilent of two PC games. Given what I have said regarding the acknowledged release of Sins in an unfinished state and also keeping in mind the lack of a single player campaign, really add weights to mine and others line of argumentation, IMO. Now, if a compromise was offered, say releasing all of the content that was originally meant to be free and in the original Sins release for $10 or $12 (i.
Although I dont agree with the tone the OP takes, I do agree with most of the points the OP makes. Pre-release on IRC and elsewhere both Ironclad and Stardock reps said that they were releasing sins early and in an unfinished state, for commercial reasons. They also said that stuff such as diplomacy and some of the other features missing due to a needed early release, would be made available via a patch. At one point I believe the patch said to contain said features would be 1.11.
Sure, will do this evening (GMT).
