Hi, Just played a game and noted some strange things. I played Vasari as did one of my opponents. He was able to disable my fleet and prevent jumps with his giant egg, but not a single target rather my entire fleet. Even when his giant egg was not in the well he was still able to do this to my fleet. I asked him what he was doiong and he acknowledged it was a bug he knew about /quote "yeah I know wierd shit happens". If devs need a replay please PM me so I can e

Nah, not if I make sure to choose the map and settings we play with [e digicons][/e]
Ahh yes, I would take great pleasure in attacking a dev or mod ingame to quell my frustrations with the design choices. [e digicons]|-)[/e] Perhaps a quick defeat via a rush of some sort to really rub salt in to the wounds, followed by a quote from a few years back including the words 'rushing', 'will not bepossible', 'game design intent', 'the game we are making will...' I can confirm what Howdidudothat has experienced. In my case after about 10 mins in the replay seemed to transpose into an actual game with the ai playing it out. I could, however, review the chat that occurred.
I think it is down now.....
RE 'games day events'; excellent I think this is really needed. As for the comment RE expansion packs; once I've seen the content of them I may purchase them as a bundle, if they are ever released as such. ATM and as single items I just don't see the value in them particularly given the original intent on releasing some of this content for free. For the sake of the multiplayer community, I just hope that either myself or others are
Only 3.44 MB for all that new content eh Anny /sarcasm off. :P
Yeah, I take your point about Entrenchment. However unfortunatley I won't be getting Entrenchment nor the other so called expansions. In the UK sins costs about £27.50, which is the price of many PC games. Add on another £27.50 for all three expansions, and you are looking at a very expensive single 'PC' game...the cost of two PC games in the UK.
At present I have the latest 1.1 beta installed and note a complete abscence of a multiplayer community. By abscence I mean bar two occasions, I have been the only one in the lobby waiting to catch a game. The question I want to put forwards for discussion is 'will multiplayer be rejuvenated with 1.1'? If you think it will be rejuvenated what are your reasons and likwise, what are your reasons if you think it will not be rejuvenated?
I have. No new content. Better rendering etc. is NOT content. It's eye candy and doens't really add to the gameplay.
Agreed. *waits for the attack dog to be released*
Would anyone be willing or have the knowledge to create a mod that sets resources from roids to finite? I am willing to pay $30 for this! A few of my friends really enjoyed finite resources as sins played in a more mature manner, and given that one cannot find many multiplayer games as is, we thought that we might hook up again online under the proposed new (actually original) gameplay 'feature'. Cheers!
You are right, YOUR answer does not satisfy me. Nor do I view the 'explanations' you refer to as answers from the dev's mouths, as answering my questions. The word conspiracy is very, imo, disingenuous of you. As for how this relates to the 'gamer's bill of rights', well given the older PR stuff I think it would be fair to say 'rights' 2 and 3 are challanged. The irony eh?

The questions are meant for the mods and devs...not you. Besides, it only really has context when you read the older PR stuff and the statements as to what would be released.
Sorry about the strange formatting text...can't edit my post to remove.
I believe Retro was responding to Retribution_666's off-topic and over generalized complaining.
OK,thanks for pointing that out....I just assumed that without the quote he was replying to the OP
Actually, I do think sins needs reworking but not to the extent that the OP suggests and for far different reasons.
Then, quite simply, this is not the game for you. -- Retro
I don't think this is an adequate response to a legitimate criticism. It is well known and established that sins was released early for commercial reasons, and things such as 'end game sequences' and a single player campaign would have pushed the release back further and hit profit margins, or so say some involved in the development and publishing of sins.
Personally I think there has been far too much compromise in the direction of RTS, and I make this statement with resource to reading, again, the early press releases on what the the devs intended and the betas and what we have now. To my mind at least one fundemental aspect of 4x is a number of ways to achieve victory as, for example, we find in the civ series. ATM we have but combat as the mode to victory and this seriously negates depth of play a 4x credibility.
As it stands presently I think sins is, or is close to, losing credibility with respects to using the 4x label --> an RTS most definitely but a 4xRTS...I am not so sure now.
I will buy spore then get the DRM hacked/pirated version once its released. I play most of my games on a comp that contains sensitive data and that, for security reasons, is never connected to the internet or any other computer. I am just hoping, given all the player made content updates delivered via the net, I can still use such updates via transferring files using a flash drive.
I agree with a few of Haeso's observations. I've also noted that quite a few of the closed beta testers have stopped playing, with a few commenting that they do not like the direction Sin's has gone since going gold. Sin's is lacking depth and variability with most games playing the same way. This is kinda expected given 1) focus on ship battles at the expense of other effective ways to win..i.e. culture, 2) infinite resources that are at the root of the 'spamming' phenomena
