It would be possible to implement this with a single extra ability on capship factory, and on the frigate factory. But it wouldn't be a pretty fix.

This isn't possible using the normal campain like system. It simply doesn't exist in sins. However, I belive it is possible by using various ingenious abilities, that a campain can be constructed.
Hey anubis. No I havn't had this problem (as I havn't been playing). But I just thought I'd say "hi".
And modding is easy to learn. With no prior experience, I picked up modding right away. (Abliet the 3D part can be a bit tricky). But it sounds like you could just re-use the models.
Problem is, first capship is ALWAYS free. Could also add a low-level research requirement.
It is Doable. Me and shadow Mastiff made somthing similar we called the DOME mod.
I tried it once in a mod. The finite resources was actully easy. (Albiet it required an ability with about fifty buffs to work!) I gave up when I couldn't get some other features to work.

What me and shadow did. Instead of listing individual abiliities. We listed types of Buffs. Where in this case, a Buff can be one, or more, acutual Buff entity files. Using this I was able to desing insanly advanced Abilities. I could (if I wanted to) even make abilities with very basic disision making. Defenders don't stack eather.
It seems that I didn't explain the loot ability correctly somewhere. What the Loot ability is. Is IF an enemy ship dies, withen range of the loot ability, you get reasources. And you ONLY get resources IF the ship dies. Same goes for structures. Planets are differnt. The loot ability on the Brigantine and the Looter doesn't touch planets. I'm very glad you like it! The loot ability on the looter doesn't stack. And the loot ability on the Brigantine doesn't stack. This means that if you already have one looter, more looters wont boost income. (though I recomend having multiple looters in one fleet for better coverage, and incase a couple die). Hey! Yea, my pirate mod is still in beta. All the abilities/structure is in place. Just the 2D art, and new models are vary much lacking. It does NOT work in diplomacy. Thank you for the feedback! Personaly, I havn't a CLUE when my next beta will be. (which will pretty much be the finished Product). Since I can't do any artwork stuff, I have to rely on my developers for new material: 2D art, and new finished models. But none of them seem particularly inspired. If your using Entrenchement, you can just install it like any other mod, and them Ingage the mod Over any OTHER mod you want. (Including my Pirate Mod).
