Simply deleting the Player.entity files wont work. In an effort to increase preformance, Danman has deleted the original vanilla races from the mod. It would be a MAJOR operation to get them to work again, smothly. Though, I do think there is a version of 7DS that doesn't contain the new races. For people like you. Though you'd have to contact someone, like Danman himself, to figure out how to get this mod, and what version it is for, <

Changing sins gameplay is EASY if you do it right. Enter: my Tri-Pirate Mod and the DOME mod. Admittidly, the AI generaly doesn't work. Small price to pay for making an awsome mod. Me and Shadow Mastiff got so good, that at one point in time we were developing a mod for SOASE that was based off of Demigod. (Would have been fun too if we had ever finished it)/
harpo- you could just assume that the mod was extracted properly. Then have the user select the version that the mod is for. Of course, you could also assume that the mod used knew what he was doing, and had the right version. Which wouldn't be that bad of an assumption....Becouse if the assumption is wrong, than the user wouldn't know what version the mod is for in the first place. Yea, I mod quite a bit. And I must say, the patches have SERIOUSLY HELPED modding. Most of the patches that have been released have IMPROVED modding. Alot of mods we are doing now wouldn't have been possible without most of the patches. And updating the mod is no problem. Sometimes it is hard, sometimes it isn't. Deal with it. so, I say MORE PATCHES!!!

Awsome!! You can't really work on the unit icons, as the units are yet to be put in. So you can work on abilities, or reaserch. You might want to start with reaserch. Simply look at the code for the reaserch/ability icon, and "fill it in" in the corrospoding spot on the the corrisponding sheet. ALL ability and reaserch icons can be found in these four pictures in the "textures folder In my mod: Buttons_Reaserch_CurserOver_Pirate Buttons_

Yes, some of the updates flip the textures around. So installing the updates should help.
after converting XSI to mesh, mesh files are automaticly in text, unless you specificly convert them to binary.
Try double checking the spelling. I havn't used 3Dsmax, But I know from teh XSI mod tool that the spelling is VERY sensitive. One thing you can do, is After placing the hardpoints and converting to .mesh format. Leave the .mesh in text, open it up in a text editor, then change the hardpoint names by hand. It is pretty obvious how the mesh file is set up, I'm sure you'll figure it out. It is obvious that english is not your first langege, so spell
I made something like this awhile back. Problem is (at least the way I did it) The movement of the target wouldn't change if the spawner changed positions. To fix that, make the buff have a stacking limit of 1, and make its application into a periodic buff.

One time, I made an ability that could "tug" a starbase around a planet. It essentully attracted the starbase to the ship, and when you moved the ship, it pulled the starbase along. An idea I had, was to take this tug and give it an interstellular range. Make it be able to tug the starbase from across gravwells.

I understood what you said. Again, there is no known way to make a starbase phase jump. For examples of reaserchable abilities, just look at any abilities that require reaserch. Heavy cruisers, long range frigates, support cruisers, just to name a few ships that contain such abilities.
